I like the new app, because it makes checking-in a breeze. I've been going to classes here for over 3 years now and the stand out thing is the community. Everyone who trains here is amazing and I'm happy to met so many amazing instructors/classmates over the years. My favorite classes are pole, especially Fluid and Flow and L3+ Tricks. The community is super supportive, welcoming, and fun! I especially love Patricia's and Vix's classes! My only gripe is that the classes do not tell you in advance how filled the class is (I.E it could say XX spots out of 10 filled on the app) before you sign up. When classes have 8+ students, I would have preferred to taken a different class. Otherwise, this review would have been a perfect 5/5.

I have loved every class I've taken here. I started out with 4 classes to experiment with Ariel/…read moresome of the other types of classes they had - and I ended up sticking around because I loved the pole classes. I keep coming back because it's great cross training to my normal gym routine, and it's been so much fun learning something new. A plus has been how welcoming the instructors have been - and really you can tell everyone is just happy to be there and doing their thing. I couldn't suggest this studio more if you're learning, want a place to continue your conditioning, or anything else really.

I am a dancer, so I needed more than simply good. Then... I met Shelly! She is amazing. She is both amazing at instructing and performing. I have been taking her lessons quite some time now and have been there to see how strong she got and how graceful she got with more advance moves. Her personality is great too. She makes us laugh all the time and our regular class is always full of energy and a lot of smiles. If you have never been to a pole class, I totally recommend her. She has background in dancing and pilates, so her pole dancing is very elegant and graceful. If you also have some experience in pole, I totally recommend her too. She can teach you amazing pole tricks, and also smooth flow of a movement to a next level. I can't wait to take her lesson every week ^^

I really like the focus she places on proper form and technique--it's really nice knowing that you're not laying foundation to future injuries when you're learning more advanced moves from her, because you're learning and doing them right. Shelly is super fun and is also an amazingly talented performer. (If you've never seen her do a spatchcock, holy crud.) We'd start the classes with a thorough warmup, including stretches and various climbs, and the we'd move on to different tricks and spins. Shelly works with each of her students and is also very patient and good with breaking down movies so we understand how to progress. When I failed at life with the helicopter spin (sigh :'( ), she had me work on the cradle spin and also on the steps so I could at least get an idea of what it should feel like/what I could practice to eventually get there. (Honestly, I think I was just scared and/or weaksauce, but mark my words: one day!) Her background in dance is also really awesome--we usually get to learn some choreography towards the end of the class (unless we go overboard with wanting to learn tricks on some days ;). She always finds time with us afterward to stretch and some days, we work on oversplits (ow ow ow ;_; but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!). When Shelly found out that I was moving across the country, she told me about a bunch of teachers at different studios where I could continue to learn (provided that I can trek my way up to NY). :] I miss her classes and hope to be back soon!

The process of signing up for the class was a breeze, and communication was always fast and reliable with employees. The studio itself was pretty spacious, with cubbies in a hallway to put personal items as well as a large bathroom. The dance floor itself had around 5 poles and places to sit. Everything was clean! The class itself was 2 hours and started off with an introduction, mindfulness exercise, and connection exercise. We then stretched and moved gradually on the floor and across the floor. Christina then taught us some basic pole dancing moves, and eventually taught an entire routine. At the end, we learned another dance and she performed a routine for us, which was fantastic!! Her grace, agility, and passion was so amazing! Would HIGHLY recommend booking a private event here! Perfect for a girls night out, bachelorette party, birthday party, etc.

I was initially nervous to try something new, but from the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, encouraged, and completely free to show up exactly as I am. The classes are an amazing mix of movement, music, and empowerment. Whether it's sensual flow, strength-based conditioning, or something more expressive and emotional, every class offers something unique. You get a real workout--but more than that, you leave feeling grounded, energized, and more connected to yourself. The instructors are phenomenal--skilled, kind, and genuinely invested in your growth. They create a space that's inclusive, non-judgmental, and FUN. I've seen huge shifts in both my physical strength and my confidence since starting here. If you're looking for a place to move, heal, grow, and be in community with other powerful women, I can't recommend Sisters in Motion enough. It's become a vital part of my life and well-being.

They take the time to look at you, what you're doing, and help you learn, adjust, and get to know your body more. I'm an unlimited member, but the $25 per class (or whatever it is), is the best way to spend $25 in San Francisco. Not exaggerating. Jess is such an experienced coach. She moves like water. She watches your body, and understands how it works. She makes hands on adjustments. Being in class with her - I truly feel like I'm with a professional-grade artist. Power Barre is a must, for any dancer, any fan of Pilates, or anyone who just wants a lean, toned dancer bod. And Pop Jam is so much fun. I've also taken Jazz Funk with Tashi, which is the BEST way to start a Monday. It's beginner friendly, but you learn technique. She's fun, lively, hilarious. Every single person is beaming when they leave her class. Drenched with Anna is also a pleasure. She's a delight to watch. A true athlete in her flow. It's a real workout! Belly Dance with Andrea was a surprise to me. I had no idea what Belly Dance was until I took this class. As it turns out, Belly Dance is like a mix of Pilates and Booty shaking. I didn't think I could move so precisely, but Andrea is such a good teacher, and so good at explaining the moves - I believe she can teach anyone how to Belly Dance. She has a thorough understanding of the history, the culture, and the artistry. Hip Hop with Mahi - the most energetic ball of fun there is. She's effortless. Drenched with Diamond - another great workout, and a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning. I love to take my girlfriends and get brunch in Union Square afterwards. Also, the Rae Studios Showcase was SO much fun. You get training in how to perform as a group. The adrenaline is intoxicating. There are people who do four per season, is how fun it is. How many opportunities in life are there to perform? Rae Studios makes this accessible to everyone. The world is tough right now. We could all use a little more dance and light in our lives. You will need to ring the studios for them to buzz you into the building and take the elevator up to the 7th floor. Beware, the elevator can take a hot minute, so get there early! There is usually a receptionist that can help check you in, but you can also self check-in via their tablet in the bigger room. That room also has a dressing room for those that need to change clothing. There is a key for the bathroom. There is a waiting room and cubbies to place your stuff and high end water fountains. I'm glad that Rae studios has partnered with Wellhub/Gympass, This week I took a regular kpop class with Oche for the first time. I have done the performance workshop series with Fran last fall. Both Oche and Fran are great teachers, super energetic, thorough warmups and always checking in if we have questions on the choreography. Also both are super stylish!! Typically, you can see what song is being taught on Rae Studio's Instagram the day before the class. I've also taken several of the free kpop classes at Civic Center with Fran. For the free class, it is on the other side of the outdoor gym. It can get loud during events nearby, but Fran does her best to be loud and clear. As for the performance workshop, it was fun but the day of the performance was quite chaotic. The lights were different than how it was during the rehearsal runs and it was super disappointing when the music cut out. On the bright side, I felt like our group got to know each other well and even held a potluck together! I probably won't do another performance workshop series anytime soon, but will definitely keep coming to the regular and free classes.

I appreciate how professional this business is + how kind everyone here is! And how pole + dance offers discounts to extend itself to the community in an effort to be more accessible to folks :) It is a bit pricier than other studios but the quality is amazing. My only "complaint" is that at one of the classes I signed up for, there were more students than there were poles so some of us had to share. I'm not sure if this is typical for auditioning instructor community centric classes, but I found it a little odd as I've never experienced that at any studio class before, and I've specifically taken several of the $10 classes. I'm not sure if it's an over-booking issue, or the intent really is to have people share but I prefer to have my own pole. Perhaps a helpful feature that could be implemented in the app is showing the class capacity that you're signing up for, I.e. "8/10 spots"-- a studio I used to go to had this feature and it greatly helped me decide on classes to sign up for. Overall a beautiful space and I look forward to more classes here!

I have taken multiple classes with the convenience of the annual pass. (Ie intro, low flow, twerk, poleography, pole workout, inversion etc). I have nothing but positive feedback about the instructors. Zhara's energy and abilities are awesome! Kelli's intro to pole and inversion class is wonderful. Kat's kindness and beautiful choreography in low flow has helped me gain confidence in my own sensuality and body. I tried the bungee fitness class at Wild & Fly. The class costs $35 for a one-hour session…read morescheduled from 12:30-1:30pm. There was no advance notice to arrive early for registration or equipment fitting. We had to fill out about two pages of forms (personal information and a health questionnaire, including weight) and then get fitted for the bungee sling. With three staff members assisting around 13 participants, this process took some time, and the class didn't start until around 1:00pm. Wendy, the instructor, did a good job leading the class and provided clear guidance overall. However, some very simple movements were explained in a more complicated way. For example, when moving diagonally, she described it using specific angles: moving at a 35-degree angle, placing one arm at 90 degrees and the other at 45 degrees, then transitioning the 90-degree arm to 45 degrees: which made a basic movement harder to follow than necessary. The actual workout lasted about 35 minutes, and we finished around 1:35pm. Wendy mentioned that the studio has been open for about a year and that classes are typically around 40 minutes. The workout itself was very low impact: I didn't sweat at all, so it felt more like a fun experience than a real workout. No photos or videos are allowed during class. Participants are also expected to wipe down the bungee equipment at the end as a courtesy for the next class. Overall, it's an interesting and unique class to try once, but considering the price and the shorter workout time, the experience felt average.
