Ever since I was a little kid I can remember taking the trolley out to Fort Lincoln. It was like…read moretaking a time machine back to the 1800s. During our trip we saw farming fields, wildflowers, and wildlife! A fleeting white-tail deer, a ring-neck pheasant racing us along the tracks as we trundle along to the state park. Absolutely worth the time and price. They make two stops in the park: 1) On-A-Slant Historical Mandan Earth Lodge Village 2) Fort Abraham Lincoln They leave the station in town at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. They leave the park at 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, and 4:30. (don't miss the 4:30!) Your best bet is to take the 1pm out to the park, and get off at the stop at the fort. Then head over to the commissary building and pick up your interpretive passes (100% worth it). These passes will grant you access to the living history tours at the Custer House and the On-A-Slant Village. The Custer House tours are given every half hour. The On-A-Slant Village tours begin in the interpretive center, and are given every hour on the hour.

I didn't have to evict any spiders from my tent in the morning like usual. Didn't appreciate the mowing that started at 530pm right behind my tent site. The should do that before check-in time. Later, there was more mowing I could here beyond the perimeter and the smell of biosolids wafted in the air from somewhere. All night, I heard traffic and the occasional semi that broke hard going down a road that is supposed to be 45mph. There was a train horn around 6am. Staying in an RV would be much better here. I would probably camp here again though if passing through the area.

American is by far the worst airline in the industry. They delay flights and rebook you for the…read morenext day- even if your trip is for one weekend. Then their customer service offers to fly you back home when you've missed your connection and refund you the difference between your round trip flight to nowhere and the destination you were SUPPOSED to arrive at. Even worse, they say they cannot even give you a ballpark estimate on how much of a refund you would get because "that's a different department." You also can't steak to a person about it- they only communicate via email. Of course they do. I will NEVER fly American again. Only an airline could get away with such horrific customer service. Btw I paid $2400 for 3 tickets for a weekend. We wouldn't even be there 12 hours. Only giving 1 star because 1/100th of a star isn't available.
