This is the absolute Best place for a Car Rental . Every representative I have been in contact with was kind, caring, considerate and knowledgeable . I have had all kinds of issues because of the auto body shops and their lack of follow through . The representatives at Enterprise have been the exact opposite . They have checked in and been very supportive. My hope is that when they create new environs for these top notch employees, they make sure they are "light and bright and cheery.".... They do not confirm that your selection of car will be available. Or anything close to it. So you take the time to set everything up including payment, personal info, car selection, etc. and website affirms choice. Wrong. Fortunately, I called to confirm my reservation and was told no guarantee. Was also told that we could walk the lot to see what's there. No confidence. read more

Had a rental through enterprise. Initially the experience was great. They met me at the location where I dropped my car off. Nice, clean rental. All was great. Issue came into play after I dropped the car off. I realized after closing I had left my sunglasses in the rental. I went online and sent a message to customer service about it. Never heard anything back. Called the next business day, the car was already gone from that location and they would have the car checked and would call me back. (Also during Covid, I would think the car would have already been checked/cleaned before leaving the location - but okay). Never heard anything back. Called again multiple times with no response. Not talking cheap sunglasses - I left my ray bans in the sunglasses holder in the car. Never got a call back. Worst experience of customer service I've ever had. read more

I had an accident the day before the Snowmageddon of January 2015 was supposed to materialize, and needed a four wheel drive rental PDQ. Our insurance company contacted Enterprise and got the ball rolling. When we talked to Enterprise ourselves, the only 4WD vehicle was a F150 pickup with extended cab, and they had it available immediately. We got there just a few hours after the smashup, and I went in to rent the truck and had to wait while the desk person finished their conversation with someone who did not appear to be a customer. Just as I was about to cut in, he finally turned to me. After that point everything went very easy-peasy, the pickup was brand new and beautiful, and we got home before the snow. Upon return, again everything was very easy, no hassles. Different guy, asked me if there had been any problems, how was the service, etc. I told him about the first guy and he said, "How can we make this right?" There wasn't even anything to make right about it, but his making the offer pleased me even as I turned him down. I would absolutely do business with this Enterprise location again, if I were in another unfortunate situation that required a rental. read more

I had an excellent experience at this Enterprise location. I recently moved to the area and had to use a rental car for more than a month (yikes), until I bought my own car. The customer service I got from Ryan and the rest of the crew was great - they were nothing but friendly, helpful, professional, and communicative. *My experience was absolutely awful*. We walked around the car and Ryan, the representative told me "not to worry about any scratches less than 4 inches or that don't go through the paint". The car had tons of scratches like that, plus some dents, that Ryan and I both noticed. Stupidly, I didn't make note of these on the rental form, since Ryan said they were "no big deal", but I don't think it would have mattered: if I'd noted any scratches first thing, they would have found one we missed. (Tons of people on the web report that exact sequence of events.) The day after I returned the car, I got a call about a "big dent on the bumper". Nothing dented the car - anywhere! - when I had it. When I returned to Enterprise to look at the car, they pointed out a scuff mark that might have been dirt, and a tiny spot on the bottom of the bumper 2 or 3 millimeters across. (This time, I brought my video camera.) I'm sure I wouldn't have seen something so small even if I'd been filming when I initially inspected the car. Now they say they're going to go after my insurance company for money to cover the "damage". With luck, my insurance company won't pay out, but I've already called them pre-emptively to warn them. With luck, my rates won't go up because of this chicanery. *Google Enterprise before renting from them.* The number of results about scams is enormous. First trip to VT with a 4-month old and they picked us up at the Amtrak and then let us keep the (really nice) car they picked us up in b/c we'd already installed the car kid seat. I have read the previous three reviews; all I can tell you is that I had an excellent experience. We needed a car just for a day, I called the night before and we were all set. We got there shortly after eight and the car was ready, had about 5000 miles on it so it was really clean. We returned it later in the day without problem. The rental agent could not have been more helpful and the entire transaction went without a hitch. The above was in August. In mid-September in Stamford I wanted to rent a panel van. Neither Budget nor Avis would rent me a panel van unless I was a commercial customer. They both tried to rent me a ten or twelve foot moving truck but that is not what I needed nor wanted. I didn't bother to call Hertz. I called the agent at the downtown Stamford Enterprise and told him I wanted a panel van and it was 'no problem'. We got there at eight the next morning and got a very new Nissan panel van. We returned it the next morning. The three agents we dealt with were helpful and did not waste any time. So based on these two experiences my first choice in the future will be Enterprise. read more

I had an awfully ridiculous experience at this location. When I made the reservation, I triple checked that I was able to use a credit card that did not have my name on it, and was told all three times that I was able to. Upon arrival at the Brattleboro office, I was told I was not able to use the other card. Regardless of the policy, I was told two different stories of information which greatly effected the ability to actually rent the car. Now here is where things get interesting. About two minutes before my reservation time (8:15am), I received a call from Ryan, one of the representatives at the location, telling me they did not have a car ready for me, and asked if I could either wait until 10:30 (TWO hours past my reservation time), or they would be able to drive me to a different location to get the car. Luckily, the location they wanted to drive me to was on the way to my final destination, but what if I were heading in the complete opposite location? They had my reservation for about one month, which in my personal opinion is plenty of time to ensure there was a car ready for my reservation. If I wasn't heading in the same location, I would have had to wait those two hours for my car, and potentially lose my job that I needed the car for. None of the representatives had anything useful to say regarding either of these two issues, so I walked out of the store. This was a ridiculous experience and I do NOT recommend this location, or even company, to anyone; incompetence is not a great way to run a business. Yes, the representatives were offering me counter ideas to solve these issues, but you wouldn't accept the help or advice from someone who just punched you in the face, would you? read more

Now, many years later - and with a little competition - Enterprise is still my favorite. You won't find a more polite and accommodating staff and it sure is nice to see the same 2 familiar faces these past couple years. Returning my rental car to this location after renting at Boston airport and feeling that I had not received the deal that I reserved online from abroad prior to the trip, yet unable to do anything about it bc I was alone with a cell phone, and it was almost midnight, was a rewarding experience and changed my mind completely about not working with Enterprise again! Do NOT rent from ENTERPRISE! We rented Premium SUV for a family trip to Hilton Head. We paid top dollar for the rental (over 1000 dollars). They gave us a Ford Expedition that suited our needs for the trip. My wife and I are both business professionals in the area and were looking forward to using a local business for our vacation needs. Everything went well until the return of the vehicle. Exactly the same incident that occurred on the reviewer No T. on 6/29/2015 happened to us. Ryan walked both of us around the vehicle to check damage to the vehicle. He also told us "not to worry about any scratches that don't go through the paint" and "we are looking for dents larger than a golf ball". We returned the vehicle and was asked to come back to look at damage done to the roof. When I went back to check the damage to the roof I had to open the door, step up onto the seat and hang on to the roof rack to try and identify what they were talking about. They pointed out 2 very tiny "dents" that were only visible at certain angles. They said that they would need get get a second opinion on weather or not to file a claim. Two days later we got a phone call saying they were filing a FALSE CLAIM FOR "DAMAGE" WE DID NOT DO! IF YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO USE THESE SCAM ARTISTS MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THE AGENT AND VIDEO DOCUMENT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE INCLUDING THE ROOF EVEN IF IT IS OVER 6 FEET HIGH!!!!! Firstly, this place is NOT open on Sundays so plan ahead. We picked up our car on a Friday afternoon and as we were paying we mentioned we would need a ride back to the Amtrak station on the Sunday about a week away. The young woman smiled and nodded and repeated our request so we thought she was typing that into our online transaction. NOT so and she never mentioned that they are closed on Sunday.... So, today was our last day in Brattleboro and my online reservation (via Amtrak) states we are to return the car at 11:00 a.m. We get to Enterprise and guess what? It's closed! There is one other couple there also returning their car and they called a cab to get a ride to the train station. Their cab arrives and the driver tells us he will have another cab out to pick us up in a few minutes. Our cab arrives about 5 or 6 minutes later and we start talking to him about our experience. He says that he thinks Brattleboro is ripe for another rental car place that stays open 7 days a week for tourists convenience and I totally agree. read more

I notice that I have something in common with Jeni B. I made a reservation and called the evening before to arrange a pick-up. I was told then that there were no cars "on the ground" but that there might be some in Keene. I had to ask for those arrangements to be made because Trevor did not offer. He did say I would be contacted the next morning to help with my 8:00 am pick-up. To make a long story short, my calls were ignored and I walked a mile to the storefront only to be blown off and told to go to Avis. I was lied to about everything, and my reservation was a dummy that was ignored so Trevor could take calls about some accounting errors for other customers. If I had not called, I never would have known that there was a problem. Avis, luckily, had cars. I won't be using this location or Enterprise again. read more

I rented a car at Enterprise in Brattleboro. First, I called to confirm the rental choices and selected a Nissan out of 3 possible choices. They picked me up later that day and when asking for the Nissan, I was told "we think the Elantra is a better choice, better tires" and they sent me on my way with a 2015 Hyundai Elantra Wagon I didn't want at their insistence. They also said they would put a $100 hold on my credit card that wouldn't go through unless there was damage etc. and then took it out my account instead of doing the hold. Then, when I returned the rental to them approximately a week later I brought the key in, an employee went out and came right back in and told the other guy in the office there was damage & to go show me where the damage was. The other employee walked outside with me & went right to the back & front of the vehicle without hesitation pointing out the bumper cracks...ironically, he hadn't been told where the damage was by the first guy so how did he know where the damage would be? In my opinion they saw me coming because of my age and pinned damage on me that was either done by an employee or that was overlooked by an employee from a previous rental. They drive these cars to do pick-ups and drops offs, clean the vehicles, transport them to other rental locations etc. When I called the office and spoke to the manager his response was "well you signed the form saying there was no damage, so I don't know what to tell you" and was arrogant ... this was a 2015 with no dents or noticeable damage when looking at it. I went and took photos of the hairline cracks and an employee actually walked up to me while I was taking the photos and asked "can we help you?" while laughing and smirking. My car had to go back to the shop the following week and I chose not to deal with Enterprise for this reason. It definitely wasn't worth the hassle. I just received a bill from Enterprise for over $2300 for these two tiny, hairline cracks that I strongly believe were there at the time it was rented. Don't rent from them, they are dishonest in my opinion! read more

Not so much a reflection of the Brattleboro Enterprise business but of Enterprise as a whole. I booked a car this morning at 8:15 AM for 9 AM pick up - 3 1/2 week rental with the option to extend. Mechanical emergency and family medical issues required I have a car quickly. After receiving conformation I got a call from Anthony at the Brattleboro office saying no cars were available until " maybe 5 or 6 PM." He could do nothing else for me, and was unwilling to try to assist bringing in a car from Keene or Greenfield. I called corporate back and they said there was nothing they could do, either, blaming it on communication between the franchise and corporate. So, I ended up booking with U Save Car rental in Keene, NH. Beautiful car, OUTSTANDING customer service, and a better price for a whole month. 603 352 7900 - I highly recommend you do not waste your time with Enterprise. BTW, when I stopped by the actual location on Saturday to get information and a car, the guy locked the door in front of me and suggested I "look on line." Nice. read more
