I would give our local Enterprise 5 stars if the staff didn't turnover so often. Between new college interns and promotions, the staff is always revolving. The problem with this is those of us that use the company weekly (for business purposes) have to "train" the new young interns and mgrs. I get frustrated when I need to come and go quickly and I have to deal with a "new" person. I have to point out once a year to the newest mgr that his inefficiencies are not my inefficiencies and I do not have the time or tolerance to wait until he gets drivers or cars back from oil changes. I would also point out that many of their no smoking cars apparently are really smoking cars. I have begun to decline them or bring them back once the covering scent they used in clean up fades and I begin to smell ashtray odor. They claim to charge a clean up fee to customers for smoking in the cars but the staff admits they rarely do. made a reservation a month ago for car reservation. a week before the reservation I verified the booking and double checked if anything else was needed, of which they said we were all set to go. The night before the reservation they called and left a message that only credit card payments were allowed, not debit card, due to it being a one way rental. fortunately my daughter had enough, barely, to cover the expenses on her card. Then on the day of the rental, we show up on time and they didn't have any cars available. Asked us to wait 2 hours, then come back. We asked if they could call us when it was available so we wouldn't have another wasted trip and them said they would. They didn't, we called them and were on hold for 30 minutes. We finally just went there and the prices were higher than on website because of one way rental instead of return to original store ( that too would have been nice to know). Worst customer service possible and don't have vehicles their national "specialist" claims is there. We recently rented a car from this location and after our experience, would never do so again. If the need arises again for a rental car we will do whatever is necessary to rent from Budget, whom we have had a good experience with before (this was a situation where our only choice was to pick up the car on a Sunday, and Budget was closed). The woman at the counter was friendly enough, but had no idea how to complete the process for us to decline the Enterprise insurance in faovr of that which was included with our credit card. This is a basic, expected part of this woman's duties and yet she had no clue how to do it. Ridiculous. Now, the day before we arrived at the location, my husband had tried to book and pay for the car online, but it wouldn't let him complete the transaction, or use his email address. Everything connected to this company seems to suck or be broken. When we got to the location there was a $300 deposit which had not been disclosed on the website. See my attached snip of a screen which tells customers the "total due", except it's not the total due, surprise! Dececptive, scammy and gross. ETA the snip isn't from our actual rental but an example of what happens on the site. Due to having no other choice and it being an emergency, we agreed to continue, and ended up having to use a debit card due to the unexpected added cost of the deposit. You'd think that the terrible experience would be ending at this point. You would be wrong. They asked us for a utility bill and references. Why? Well, for "extra security". I thought the deposit was the extra security. Why the need for the life story? Word to the wise: GO TO BUDGET. Do not, under any circumstances, deal with this company. So #Och's rental car in Cape Girardeau sucks. I rented a car for aTuesday doctors appointment in St. Louis for my Mom. As she has a hard time getting in and out of her truck or any of our current vehicles. I called today to cancel as I'm concerned about the forecasted snow, and I do not want Mom falling, or worry about the doctor's office canceling due weather, and just being in a unfamiliar vehicle in snow and ice in St Louis. They will not refund the deposit of $100. I will never ever rent from the again. I told them I recommend them all the time to my friends and usually rent a car once a year from them. I said I understand it's policy and in the contract but, I'm concerned weather safety and such..... Does this mean that they won't turn around and rent the car again? Never had worse Customer Service than I've had the past 24hrs! Had a reservation and confirmation, but i guess that doesn't matter anymore! Got a call my reservation was Cx 24 hrs before our family vacation!! Simply said they cannot fill the reservation. It wasn't, "let me see if i can get a vehicle from a different branch", just "sorry, it is what it is!" Well, I'm embarrassed to say i ever worked there! Under promise and over Deliver was our motto back then... we did whatever necessary, but hey, that attitude is in the past. I'm a 23 year old travel ultrasound tech 10 hours from my home. My debit cards and ID were lost in a total-loss incident. No matter how much explaining I've dome, they have been so horrible about flexibly. If you don't have your physical card, even if you were in a wreck and lost them, you can't rent a car! wow! My husband and I made a vehicle reservation several weeks ago. We were called the day before we were leaving for vacation that it would be ready at 9:00 a.m. the next day. We got a call the next morning that there wasn't any vehicles available at all as they were out getting oil changes and it would be a couple of hours. Almost 6 hours later, we called back and all they had was a mini van which would have been higher than what we reserved. We ended up having to take our own vehicle which put us almost a half a day behind. Very disappointed. read more

They did not honor the confirmed reservation. The Enterprise reservation system will allow reservations even when cars are not available. That is a major issue and a violation of Missouri law. If you have the same happen, please file a complaint with the Missouri attorney general. I will give the local business credit for calling us and letting us know but really is not enough. read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever!! Rented the one way drop off from STL dropping off in Cape Girardaeu on Kingshighway. When I returned my car, the management assistant, stated there was a wave damage on my driver's side of car. I took photos and video and still could not see the wave damage on the vehicle. This place was such a scam so please beware. This is the only car rental in cape Girardaeu so they have no competition. If I could give this place a negative star rating I definitely would. Still not finished with this ordeal but wanted to let customers know of this experience. The manager's name was, Justin Greene. He said he had a "trained eye" and could see the damage. I also have a video that was taken the day the car was turned in showing both sides of car. An additional video was taken the day after the car was turned in, showing all sides of car. I paid a restocking fee to drop a car off at this location but their rental agent REFUSED to give me a ride home resulting in me having to take a cab home. He refused to return Mr deposit so I paid 350 dollars to drive less than 150 miles. I used Enterprise due to my vehicle was wrecked. In this wreck, an older man pulled out in front of me while I was doing 30 mph. Anyway, his car insurance provided a rental. First while was a mini van. I had it for 2 days, then it had a flat tire. So happens Enterprise was closed, this occurred on Sunday. I call their roadside service and immediately a tow truck was sent to pick up the vehicle. Guess what, the van had no spare for the service to change it out. So I was stuck in town without a vehicle. No one reached out to me to get another car to drive. This was a Sunday The office closes at 2:00. I had a friend who took me to my house. The next day after getting another ride, I was given a car, similar to my old wrecked car. What would've happened to me if I wasn't close to home????? I was not happy with their dealings. I've rented from Enterprise in the past to very good effect. For example, they provided a rental car for two weeks after an automobile accident left my car totaled. However, my experience at his location has left much to be desired. It felt like I was interacting with used car salesmen instead of rental car employees. First, they ran a classic bait-and-switch on me by promising a premier vehicle on their website when I booked and then telling me when I arrived that I didn't qualify because I didn't have a credit card. They went so far as to refuse to swipe my debit card as a credit card so I could qualify for the premier vehicle. Second, a transaction that should have been 15 painless minutes instead lasted 65 agonizing minutes because of semantics about the appropriateness of my insurance. Could not believe how poorly we were treated by the manager Candas!!! We called to see if they could stay open a few minutes late bc my husband had a work emergency pop up and it took us a few to get there but would t be more than 10 min late. While I know that's not her problem, the fact that she said no wasn't the issue. She was so incredibly rude. I literally couldn't believe the things she was saying. "In not helping people out anymore by staying late. It always screws me!" And "I have plans later!" Then to top it off, she says "I don't even have any cars anyways." WHAT!!!??? I have rented from this branch for nearly twenty years. We travel out of state to visit family often and don't want to put miles on our cars. So we rent. The service at this branch has declined markedly in the last two years. The cars are rarely clean on the inside. They often reak of cigarettes with burns and ash in the upholstery even though it is clearly marked they are to be no smoking. Recently when I have made a reservation for a specific sized car, they would only have one on the lot to choose from, if that. More often they would show me several other vehicles available, thinking they were still in the size I reserved but we're actually upgrades without disclosure. I've had to wait up to an hour an a half past my reservation time for a car that was being serviced or they just didn't have one on the lot. The cars are all coming and going from other states so they are not aware of the inventory they have. Although the representatives are nice and want to please, their management and flow of inventory has been really poor, to the point that we are ready to terminate our twenty year relationship with Enterprise. read more

Also, when needing to make changes with my reservation, the employees seemed ill informed on basic communication skills within their own store & other branches. I have used Enterprise at least a dozen times in the past 2 years. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Cars a sometimes dirty on the outside and frequently are not filled with gas. Not very handy when you're trying to get on the road. The big issue for me is that typically their cars smell of cigarette smoke. They claim to have smoke free cars, but there is no way that this is true. They also claim to charge smokers a $100 fee. This policy is apparently not working. I recently scheduled a pick up from Enterprise. Even confirmed the prior day. Was told to call ahead of time to make sure on the ride. I called 25 mins prior to scheduled pick up time. They told me they would be out as soon as possible. I told them I have an infant with me. Pick up time was for 4 pm. I called at 4:30 pm to see where my ride was. They were on their way. I called again at 5 pm since I live in Jackson. They said wet roads they must be just being careful. He finally comes in a TRUCK when I rented a intermediate car at get this 5:30 pm! This branch has been my "go to" rental facility for several years. For my past three rentals, I have been extremely disappointed. The cars I rented clearly had been used by a smoker and the interior of the car was not clean, especially the interior windows. For last week's visit, no vehicle was available so I had to drive with an Enterprise employee to a dealer where the car was being serviced, taking an additional 30-40 minutes out of my time. I arrived one hour past the reservation time so I assumed a vehicle would be ready. From vehicles that smell like cigarettes to a missing USB dock, the quality of rental is very poor. Two out of the last 3 trips i have taken to Europe my returning flights have come into St Louis after 11:30 so the enterprise place is closed. We have been told twice that they would setup us a car threw Enterprise to pick up for our one way return to Cape Girardeau Missouri. Everytime we have tried they would not accept our reservation with the conformation number we had so we would have to call a help line with our company at 2:00 am to try and figure this out 2 hours later we have a car and headed home for some reason there is a lack of communication between the too. As far as the Cape Girardeau Missouri Enterprise mostly i get great service but the last few times with me and my fellow workers they dont seem to have enough cars they are the only car rental in town. read more
