The girl in the office said they didn't have fire-starter, but said we could walk around by the woods and pick up kindling.

We arrived about 45 minutes prior to check in, but the hotel receptionist did not hesitate to allow us to check in early. Unbeknownst to us, our hotel room was upgraded to a Roulette King room. Our room was located in the 5th floor at the very end of the hall. So there was no constant foot traffic around our room which was nice. The room itself was spacious. I don't think I ever stayed in hotel room that had a six person dining room table in it! We had a nice view of the river as well. The room also came with two TVs. My wife and I did a quick walk through the casino just to check it out. There were a lot of gaming options but there was no free booze while gaming. My wife was excited about having a Starbucks adjacent to our hotel lobby. This is a phenomenal hotel and would definitely consider staying here in the future!

The (older) lady at the front desk was the least friendly person ever, let me put it this way, the TSA agents at St Louis airport were way friendlier than her. The room was okay but the second day they just folded used towels back on the rack (wet and dirty towels). I will never stay there again and I wouldn't recommend it either

It was a last minute decision to make a trip down to Cape from St. Louis, so we frantically searched for a place to stay downtown where we would be close to the action. The other two bed and breakfast places were both booked and FAR more expensive than the Kage House. I called up the owner after finding their site on VRBO showing they had openings for tonight. He said unfortunately their cleaning crew was on vacation so he didn't know if they could get it ready for us for the night but that he was traveling on his way to Cape Girardeau from St. Louis as well (but a couple hours ahead of us). He said he would take care of getting the place ready for us in time for our visit! When we arrived the Kage House was just 1 room located above a business on Broadway. The interior was beautiful and new with a full kitchen (stocked with Keurig machine and all!), gigantic king size bed, living room and large TV, an more. The exterior had a grill, large porch, and beautiful views of the Mississippi River. The stay was wonderful and the service even better! I would highly recommend staying here if you're ever in Cape Girardeau for the night!
