Out of control of the staff are the morons who smoke in the car, despite hefty fees and plenty of warnings. Selfish pigs that make the staff's job so much harder when you can't find a car that doesn't smell like an ashtray. Two out of two. Had to take the less stinky one. The car itself, a Nissan with 15k miles was fine for a few days. Need to help a buddy move some furniture and a king size mattress out of a nearby house. This location has a large & tall cargo van with "unlimited miles" at a decent rate. Rented the van online and confirmed it 2 days prior to pick up. Arranged pick up in the morning and even got a ride home after the return. Friendly customer service. No BS sales tactic like they do at car rental places at airports. Management seems to know what they are doing here. Declined the pre-paid gas because there are plenty of gas stations nearby. Accepted the supplemental insurance at $40 extra per day since the van is commercial vehicle. All in all, this is a relatively new & tall van and it has a rear view camera so backing up is really easy. *If you are going on a toll road, the fee is $20 max + toll or you could go on-line and modify your EasyPass beforehand to your rental so-so dates. read more

Rented twice: Once rented a full-size panel van at $60/day with 150 miles/day, and once rented a replacement car paid by insurance company. Reservations were made and honored on time. They even called one day before to confirm. Unlike car rentals at airports, you pay for gas at $6/gallon only if you return with less gas than you started (they estimate looking at the gas gauge). If you return with more gas, then you lose. It is a imprecise way to compute gas usage favorable to the rental firm. Otherwise, this is an honorable local rental car outlet. This location should just be shut down completely. My boyfriend and I made a reservation that was well over $2K, we made a reservation over a week in advance. How do they call us 10 minutes before our reservation and say they don't have a car?!? This isn't the first time it's happened to us but we decided to give them a second chance(after not receiving a car at ALL the time time) , and I know it won't be the last. What's the point of a reservation if they DONT have a car? Next time I'll take my business elsewhere and put my money into another companies pocket. Enterprise absolutely sucks! I asked them three times I had to wait three days and my tow truck driver took me there. My car was in a accident I had get the tow truck to drop me off here and the put me in the most expensive car my insurance would cover. I am on a mission on orders and I need a vehicle! This has to be the most conniving bait and switch ripoff. I was sent here by those con artists over at Auto Collision in Ossining. The old con artist there with the phony accent works in collusion with these people. He steers all his collision work here. So they are in on it to squeeze every penny out of you and/or your insurance company. They tried to tell me the only car they had was a Camaro, which I had to add money on top of if I wanted a car that day. I said no, and was without a car for the day. The next day the clerk on duty gave me a little Nissan, which was covered. I asked him why they didn't give me the day before. He said, oh they had it here, but no idea why they didnt give me. Nice. I needed a van for the day to help someone move. Since I arrived two hours early the van they had scheduled for me had not yet been returned. Glenn at the front desk apologized for not having a vehicle ready for me even though I told him I arrived early. He quickly made some phone calls and within the hour I had the van. Glenn was polite, professional and very sympathetic The van was clean in and out but nearly out of gas. They told me they could fill it up or I could return it empty so I chose the latter. Glenn sent me outside and introduced me to Julien who went over the van with me bumper to bumper, inside and out. He explained everything I would need to know including the fact that because of it's size the van is considered a commercial vehicle and so I would need to avoid driving on parkways to keep from getting stopped for a ticket. He confirmed I would also be charged at bridge crossings as a commercial vehicle. Being allowed to return the van on a Sunday was very convenient. I was checked out in less than 10 minutes with Glenn again handling everything including paperwork. All in all a great experience from start to finish and I would use them again. read more

They changed staff and now it doesn't matter how much you rent here or the "platinum" rewards member status, they treat you like a crazy person for asking to be upgraded. I had to get a rental because someone had hit my parked car :(( . There insurance covere5the cost of the car. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The problem was the car they gave me it was a Dodge Dart . I think it personally it it the biggest piece of crap I ever drove. And trust me I've driven cars from a 1984 chevvete to a 2015 gmc accadia. I would definitely rent a car from here again but please stay away from the Dodge dart ... read more

The staff gets 5 stars. All were super friendly and helpful. The car itself was in fairly good shape; had one minor issue (missing armrest) but staff immediately offered to switch cars for me when I noticed and called them. The only real negatives are pricing (higher than other companies, and no AAA or other discounts seem to be available) and the corporate policy of aggressively pushing insurance coverage you most likely don't need. Just call your insurance company and also check with your credit card beforehand to see what coverage you already have. read more

The representatives at the front desk are a bit harsh and unfriendly. The SUV we got was dirty. There were French fries and sticky spots inside from the previous renter. When you are renting a vehicle for a whole week for $500 you would expect a clean (inside and out) vehicle. Not here. read more

From the manager Connor to the assistant manager Frank and all their staff go all out to make the experience the best for the customer. take yesterday for an example, being a orthodox jew i felt uncomfortable taking a volks wagon jetta (which is technically what i reserved) being that they had no other standerd vehicles they gave me a fully loaded ford explorer without charging me! they stand by the motto of "TREAT YOUR FRIENDS LIKE YOU WANT TO BE TREATED" If they had a way to rate 6 stars they would get that! Well, the initial experience was great. Picked me up at the train station, friendly guys, very smooth and easy renting. Overall really good experience. Except when it came to the bill. Watch out folks. When I picked up the car, it was clear on the rental agreement I was returning it Sunday afternoon. That was the agreement I signed with them. I got the car back a half hour before the deadline - no one there. Took pictures, dropped the car (after talking to someone on the national support phone line), went on our way. No one ever said to us that they would not be around on Sunday. Later got an email saying we were being charged through Monday morning! That wasn't the agreement. That wasn't what I did. Have called them several times trying to get the charge corrected, and it STILL HAS NOT BEEN. They've pocketed an extra day of charge, while I returned it at the agreed time, and they have been completely unhelpful for fixing it. I really wanted to like them, and use them again (and again) going back to that area, but now I hate them. Would have been one star if they weren't so nice at the start. read more

The Enterprise team that works at this location is just the best ever!! Specifically, on April 28th 2016, I picked up my rental car from this Enterprise for use until Sunday, May 1st and the agent told me I had to bring it back by 12:30 pm when they closed. Due to untimely miscommunication among some family friends who had earlier offered to accompany me to the rental car return and then take me with them to Newark Airport for my 4:00 pm flight that afternoon, I ended up having to return the car on my own with the plan to ask Enterprise to drive me to the Cortlandt train station so I could take the train into Grand Central (GCT) and then take a taxi to Newark. While I had no problem returning the car on time to Enterprise, once I had discovered when the next possible train into GCT would depart, I realized there would be no way to make my 4:00 pm plane reservation. Sara Matzkin was the Enterprise agent who was to take me to the Cortlandt train station and as we were about depart, we both realized I could not catch a train that would ensure timely arrival to GCT. I asked her if it would be possible to take me to the next train station on the line with the hopes of catching it. She informed me that this would not be possible as their office was close to closing for the day, but that she would ask her manager to make an exception. She not only went of her way, working past her normal Sunday work hours, but she got me to even a better train station and I was able to get on an even earlier train which was instrumental in me not only making my flight at Newark, but doing so with minimal stress if any at all. Had it not been for Sara selflessly going above and beyond and out of her way, I would have never made my flight. Traveling these days is not easy at all and the airlines make it very stressful and uncomfortable to fly. The assistance and generosity of Sara and the entire Cortlandt Enterprise team were a true exception and words cannot express the level of gratitude I have for their service and the personal nature of their customer interface. Sara is not only a great Enterprise agent, she was a delight and pleasure to travel with during our ride. Great job and I will send all my friends and family to Enterprise in the future!! I've been using Enterprise exclusively for a few years now. I can always count on great service from a courteous and professional staff.

Had a 2 month reservation. When I picked up the car they said I must come back after month 1 so they can close out the agreement and start a new agreement. The price for the 2nd month was higher than the reservation price, Counter person told me that "prices go up in the summer". I said I have a reservation with a price for 2 months. They partially lowered the price, but Not to the reservation price. I should have told them to keep the car, but being at the counter expecting no problems wouldn't allow that! Totally unprofessional they would not honor the reservation price and then give me a hard time when I objected. read more

Absolutely terrible enterprise location. Please rethink your options when it comes to renting cars. If you decide to go with this location I promise you, you'll wish you didn't. The lot is incredibly small with only one or two economy options. The staff use it as a way to force you to rent a more expensive car. The cars have major dents and scratches and the staff will try to blame this on the customer. It is happened to me where I have returned a car and they try to blame a previous scratch and me. I had to go to great lengths to protect myself in this regard and it almost took illegal turn. I believe that the staff are involved in a scam when it comes to the insurance claims on these cars. The staff themselves are quintessential dirty salesmen and trust me they do not have your interests at heart. Please do yourself a favor and drive another 5 miles to a better location with better options and sales people who actually care about your experience. read more

The only hang up I had was that the first car I received had a check engine light come one the day after I picked it up. So I had to return it for a replacement.
