On this date, 6/6/22 I went to Enterprise located in Crofton Maryland and was driven back to pick up my rental by an Enterprise male rep/Bryce who started a confrontation with this writer after I became upset with his attitude and performance and referred to me a "Girl", stating that if I did not close/shut my mouth he is would /pointing across my face to the side of the highway and "I have the authority to pull over to the side of the road and PUT YOU OUT." He stated this 3x, slowing the car each time to the side of the road. Will escalate this to the media if necessary. I felt threatened and experienced a hostile environment. On Wednesday I reserved a car for pick up Friday at noon. On Friday morning I received a voice mail that there was not a car available for me. I tried to call, but was left on hold for 15 minutes. They know how to take the reservation....they just don't know how to hold the reservation. And that is the most important part of the reservation-- the holding. read more

Wow! reviews are really all over the place, so I guess it's another place that it just ... depends. I called and spoke with them a week before I needed a car, because the other person's insurance was paying for everything :D They told me to give them 24 hours' notice, so they could make sure the vehicle I needed (minimum holding 5 people) would be ready. So, I called yesterday and confirmed. Today I arrived at the body shop to drop off my damaged vehicle, and was told Enterprise was already en route for the gentleman in the waiting room. OK. We waited a bit longer, then were picked up. I'm pretty open about music but I think blasting rap when you are driving customers is just ... not cool. The other customer and I continued a conversation we began in the waiting room, but the young man driving us didn't turn down the stereo until he apparently found our convo interesting! So honestly, I deducted a point for that. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience as car rentals go, so I can still feel good about 3 stars. I almost want to deduct one for the lingering odor of cigarette smoke, and the foo-foo the young driver was wearing!! but it is really minor and I'm really sensitive, so I'm letting it go. All in all, you could do much worse, and I really do appreciate that they pick you up wherever. read more

I have rented vehicles from various rental car companies across the country. This location was the worst I have come across. When I picked the vehicle up, I was greeted by three "children" who didn't know a thing about professionalism. I wasn't aware that Enterprise is now ok with renting vehicles with an empty tank. I asked about this and in a condescending manner was told "It says empty right there on the invoice, just bring it back empty." I open the rear hatch door to the vehicle and there are leaves and branches throughout and the entire floor is covered in dirt. I'm appreciative that you washed the outside of the car, but honestly... I'm looking to load luggage into the back of the car and hit the road-- Now, I have to clean and vacuum it. Thanks a lot... When I return the vehicle, the manager says, "Hey bro, let me help you return the vehicle, just hang on one minute." Ten minutes goes by as he is outside BSing with another customer. I had to rent another cargo van and the process was smooth sailing as expected. While I was picking up my vehicle, I totally eavesdropped on a difficult customer interaction. The manager (Ian) was nothing but professional, polite, and accommodating. He was intent on diffusing the tense situation despite the fact that he was the only one willing to listen and remain rational. Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Cargo van. Monstrous but surprisingly easy to drive and handle. - Car Rental Near Me - Crofton, Maryland

On April I was suppose to pick up a rental car at the location: Enterprise Car Rental 1651 Crofton Blvd, Suite 13, Crofton MD - Reservation number 1754387568 - I refused the car because it smelled of marijuana and the car had no been cleaned or aired out. I was very offended and the agent acted as if he didn't care of he didn't smell it. I opened the car doo and the smell hit me in the face. I also have called two days prior and asked for a specific car. He was unable to offer that as well. However, I was offed a larger car and would have to pay the difference. Obviously, that was not going to work. He says I could cancel the reservation and try the other location. He didn't offer to transfer the reservation or to call the other location to see if they could honor the rate. I had him cancel the reservation the I left to go to the location of: Enterprise 16300 Heritage Blvd Bowie MD, maybe about 10 min away or less. I arrived at this location and advised the agent there of what had happened. I asked him if he could call the other office to see if they could honor the rate. He advised he could not but can put me in a similar small car for 1100. Well, that was not going to work even though I was paying $600.00 less at the other location. I left there disappointed in Enterprise rental car and I am a member there. It goes to show you that not only don't care about their members but they are very consistent in disappointing their members. In either case there was no apology, not even for the smell of the car not the non-cleanliness of the car, no thank you anyway, just nothing from either. I went home and regrouped. Looked on line for another car rental and found Avis/Budget. I booked the rental at 11:30 was able to pick up the care clean and no unpleasant smell. The Manager was very polite and very welcoming. I appreciated hi fast and kind service. David went out of his way to ensure that the car was clean by checking it one more time. He explained everything to me and I was on my way. The rate was even lower and the car was the perfect size. I even was able to extend my rental to an extra day for the price I was getting. Needless to say, I know where I will be renting my next care from unless Enterprise can get their ACT together which sometime makes me seem like that all it is. I like to be loyal who is loyal to me, but in the case why should I stay loyal to enterprise when they are not. read more

The customer service was horrible. My insurance made a reservation for me and when I came to pick up my rental my vehicle wasn't available. So I even came back a second time and my rental was still not ready. I called for a pick fir later that afternoon or early the next t day and they weren't able to accommodate me. The manager I spoke with didn't even bother or offer to reach out to other branches to see if they have available rentals. So I was left stuck with no vehicle which was a total inconvenience. Update: I dropped off my rental to this location to avoid traffic since it was closer to me. But today the manager on duty was great and the customer service was much better. Originally had a $100 dollar bill, a $50 dollar bill, and a single folded together inside wallet. Only the single was there when Chris returned wallet. read more

The assistant manager, Sam, was the most rude sales associate I have ever experienced. She cancelled my reservation without warning and then refused to be helpful in locating another vehicle. Told me that it was like having a doctors appointment, 15 mins late and your reservation automatically cancels (lies, lies, lies). I have had years of excellent experience with Enterprise. I know that their training programs are top-notched. But this associate, this assistant manger needs to be retooled and retrained to simply be a better person. I typically only give good reviews, but this experience on Christmas Eve was the absolute worst. read more

Good customer service. They should state their policy for debit cards on their website. We had issues with providing 2 proof if address because we had a debit card and not a credit card. If we would have known ahead of time I would have brought a utility bill and bank statement with me. Most ppl don't carry that with them. We called to see if they took debit cards and was told yes but no other information. The car we got was a ford focus and had a miss in 1st and 2nd gear. When we told them about it they said they knew about it. I think they should have told us before we took the car. read more

My past experiences from the Crofton location have been great ! Everyone has always been super nice with no problems at all. Although, over christmas I rented a van and returned it with a FULL tank of gas. Three days after returning it I get a phone call saying there was no gas in it at all, zero. I'm shocked!. So...someone hit my car and my insurance said that Enterprise will provide me the rental. Eh, whatever. Called Enterprise and my only request is that it's not a smoker's car. Too bad for you, buddy - that's the only car they had left. But! (And this is the only reason I took away a star), although they didn't have a smoke free car for me, they did call me 24 hours later with a replacement vehicle. And, because of my 24 hours of contact nicotine abuse, they graciously waved the full-tank-upon-return requirement. This is called customer service, people! This is how you make things right and get return customers! Really, REALLY impressed by their customer service, professionalism, promptness and overall make-it-right attitude. BEWARE!!! They will tell you something, like their insurance is just $24, but neglect to inform you it's per day then charge your card for more money. I had a woman back into my PARKED car and her insurance company sent me to this enterprise. I've already warned them of this places shady business practices and they're taking care of it, but for reals. Do not fall for their speeches about 2 inch scratches costing you thousands of dollars. They're scaring people into buying their coverage and then tell them "oh it's only $24. It's just a little bit compared to what you might have to pay." Liars. Don't rent from here. If your insurance sends you here, ask for somewhere else. Absolutely disgusting. Purposefully misleading customers is despicable. I hope that $240 you charged me bought you food. My reservation started off great and then it was down hill from there. I had scheduled a pick up for 8:30am I arrived within 5 minutes of that time only to learn that they had left without me, another customer was in a rush. I think 5 minutes is a reasonable time to wait I could understand if I was later then that. No phone call either, when they had asked for a cell phone number at the reservation time I was told it was for situations like that. They sent someone else out to pick me up about a half hour later. The person who took my reservation and I had a nice conversation about me wanting to maximize my rate. I was told that if a certain car was there I could have it they weren't sure if it would be back but if it was I could rent it. I was also told at the time of the reservation that I would receive a call latter in the week to discuss my rental options further. Neither of these things happened. I arrived at the location and saw the car in the lot. So I was feeling good about my options, things were looking up. When I went inside they already had a car selected not the one I thought I was getting. No options for rentals were given, the gas option wasn't even offered or explained. When I asked the person who took my reservation, who was working the phones in the back, about our conversation she told me that she didn't remember it and the car that I wanted was scheduled to go out Friday. My rental was for a Monday to Friday which is the information I gave them during the reservation but they didn't have that information in the reservation the morning I arrived. So I took the car I was given. I have to say that it is the least clean car I have ever rented from Enterprise or any rental company for that matter. I have had great experiences at the West Street location but not this one. I have to say I didn't feel valued as a customer. The pick up issue and the then the way the car situation was presented didn't go well. The dirty car just made it worse. When I told the person I made the reservation with my rate for the insurance company on the initial call she was surprised how high it was and said she would work with me to get a great car. My issue isn't really that I couldn't have the car I originally wanted but the way that news was delivered and the situation handled along with the pick up issue and the dirty car it all ended up as a not great experience. After speaking to a District Manager I learned further that they don't guarantee specific cars which I knew and they don't hold them for potential rentals either. I wish I was offered options on the spot I wasn't. After a phone call from the District Manager did offer to make it right but didn't really have any other cars that would make for an easy trade with my schedule or any great ideas to resolve the situation. read more

Worst customer service ever! The manager told her staff to refuse to help us in exchanging the vehicle we were rented when our car was hit in DC. We were unable to continue using it due to a stale smoke smell. We just moved to the area and rent cars often for our out of town guests and my husband's company. I'm highly allergy to smoke and was physically ill from driving it. I was so shocked and disappointed with how poorly we were treated by a representative of a company that is prided on customer service. My advise, rent elsewhere. read more

I called an hour and 45 minutes ahead of time to reserve a ride less than a mile away from the location. I was told no on two occasions. The employees are more concerned with getting out of work early than helping customers. I did call customer service and plan to do so again. I had to spend $10 on an Uber. No thank you, Enterprise! I've rented from the Crofton location two times, and the crew is nice and helpful I'm deducting one star for cleanliness of the inside of the vehicles at this location. Both cars were dirty inside, and not thoroughly cleaned. The first one was full of dust on the inside and I ended up cleaning it myself, while the second one had coffee spilled on plastics, so it was obvious it wasn't wiped down after the previous customer. Cleanliness aside, the location is convenient and I'll continue to rent from them. read more

From the first person I dealt with, to phone conversations to the person I turned the car in to, everyone was friendly, helpful, professional and courteous. I had to extend my rental by about 6 days and they really helped with this and took care of everything. The car we rented was great, except for a faint smoke smell, which they could have addressed. Recently rented a car after a minor accident. Everything was handled between USAA and Enterprise. Enterprise called me before I had a chance to call them. They were extremely busy and only had a large SUV which my 22 year old daughter was not eligible to drive. I was able to trade vehicles out numerous times throughout the rental period to get one the right size for my daughter. Employees were very friendly and professional. I've rented cars with enterprise from multiple locations but my experience at the Crofton location was the worst I've ever had. I called in advance to change my reservation for the next day because I couldn't come and pick up the car and the person confirmed my reservation for the next day. When I showed up the next day they said that they didn't have any Full size cars available and that whomever I spoke to on the phone never changed my reservation. Coming in later to pick up my car the person assisting me kept answering phone calls while still with me and kept going back to his desk to help other people. After asking me the car I wanted, he sent someone else outside to come and inspect the car with me. I got less than 5 min to inspect the car which he ran thru quickly and any dents or scratches I showed he said it wasn't "2 inches or larger" and they didn't count as damage. Not to mention I didn't even get a full tank. Upon returning my car the same representative who assisted me first noticed tiny dents on the roof which weren't even visible and none of them were deep nor "2 inches or larger" and wanted to file a claim for damage. He kept asking me my deductible and kept assuming it was $500. He told me I had to pay the deductible upfront and if the repair was less they would refund me the amount. I spoke to my insurance company and they told me that I was covered besides the deductible and also that I wouldn't have to pay until after the repair was done but the enterprise agent said they have their own private auto body shop they get repairs at and need the money now. After 2 hours talking to my insurance company and figuring out what to do I finally decided to pay the deductible and leave since it wasn't worth my time. This was the worst experience I've had renting a car and next time I'm going to think twice before choosing enterprise and I'm definitely not going to the Crofton location again. read more

I have never written a negative review in my life, but this experience deserves one. The Crofton Enterprise rented me a vehicle IN THE DARK. I was given an opportunity to quickly inspect the vehicle using a flashlight by a representative who rushed through the process, dismissing the concerns I pointed out about the condition of the exterior of the vehicle. When I returned the vehicle, they did a thorough inspection and discovered that a small part on the side of the seat was missing and charged ME for it. I can tell you with 100% certainty that I did not have any contact with the part. I barely used the vehicle!!! The manager told me that the associate was supposed to have offered me the opportunity to inspect the vehicle in the back of the store with full lighting, but this did not occur. Despite the fact that they did not follow the correct inspection procedures, Enterprise is sticking me with the bill. I am extremely irritated on principle. Being accused of doing something that you DID NOT DO is infuriating. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! read more

If I could give ZERO stars for this business I would. First, they passed off a Nissan Versa as a mid-sized car which it definitely is NOT. When I returned it and requested a mid-sized car, I was given a Dodge Avenger. Within a day, the "oil change" light was on. On October 30th Enterprise left a voicemail message on my home phone, which I never use, which is why I gave them my cell phone number, stating that the tags were going to expire on the rental car. Unfortunately, I was traveling and did not receive the voicemail message until November 3rd. Effectively, they left me driving a car with expired tags for 4 days. If they had simply called the cell phone number I had left them, this entire fiasco could have been avoided. Better still, wouldn't you think it would be part of their check list before a rental vehicle goes out on the road? The staff is super nice and helpful but, come on guys, this is totally unacceptable. read more

Worst enterprise out of all the Enterprises I've ever been to. On August 12th there was a flash flood warning and my car got totaled in a collision. It was a very hard day for me and coming to this particular location made it the worst day of my life. I was supposed to get a rental from Jessup after my adjuster told me she had spoken to an employee. I get there and the employee who my adjuster said she had spoke to said there was never a conversation (I later found out his integrity is questioned). Long story short I somehow ended up at Croften when the place was about to close in less than 45 minutes. I walk in and was assisted by an employee. Mind you, I am only 19 and my driver's license has been converted from a provisional to full, but I only have the piece of paper they send in the mail to keep with your license. It had not been turned sideways yet. After that everyone stopped assisting me and said they couldn't do anything for me. The enterprise driver who took me here said he had to go. I was then stranded, soaking wet and cold with a trash bag of my belongings I had to empty out of my car. I called a corporate enterprise because another enterprise had made exceptions and gave me a rental before. Of course my phone got disconnected. I had to call my dad to come get me and he said it would be awhile until he got there due to traffic. I was in the building to stay warm and right at 6:00 they closed the lights and kicked me out. Didn't say one word to be. I was outside in the rain with all of my belongings. My dad came 5 minutes after they closed. Every other enterprise said they will stay late if they needed to. This staff just did not care. Oh and they were so nice to the people who walked through that door after me. I would say race had something to do with it. I talked to the regional and he really didn't say or do anything to comfort me. The whole entire staff needs to be re-evaluated because they don't understand the meaning of customer service. From my past Enterprise encounters, I know that the corporation itself values the opinions of their clients. They even offer a survey at the end of the transaction. Til this day I am traumatized. I don't think I can ever get over it thinking back on that day. Its the fact that they kicked me out in the rain and didnt even feel bad about it. A location like this deserves a below zero star. I will forever continue to advise anyone who asks me about Enterprise, to never ever go to Crofton. There is a major difference between this one and all the other locations. Run by complete imbeciles. They are just not good people. I would highly recommended Columbia Enterprise. This review is not exaggerated, it is real.
