I told her on email. I just wanted to say that. That's not satisfying to hear. I just rented another car for $76 (24 hours) with my 20% discount making it $61... and it will be a suv or van. Well, it's a 2026 Nissan. I did see a luxury Mercedes but looks like it just got turned in and isn't ready. Just wanted to follow up on this. I usually book rental cars via Costco Travel with Alamo. No prepayment and cancel anytime deal works for me with Costoco. Even though I don't have any tides to Alamo, it has been my go-to-place for rental car. Initially I booked with Budget for $700 for a week for a compact car. They were the cheapest few months back. I happened to check with Alamo few days prior to my trip to Baltimore and I was able to get $300. Sweet! I like their self service kiosk instead of having to deal with service agent who usually wants to up sale on stuff or that awkward silence. We did have to ask for printed receipt as the kiosk machine didn't work. The lady at the counter was very helpful and check thoroughly make sure we didn't get charged twice. The lesson here is always keep your eyes open for cheaper price because you might get lucky! But I also know that sometimes car rentals do not have the car you booked for too. I wouldn't want to work that algorithm. read more

I was a regular and loyal Alamo member, BWI was a regular pickup spot for me as I traveled for medical reasons. However, having rented here twice in 2 weeks, it's become obvious this location is simply awful at customer relations and mitigating even the slightest of problems. For example: you don't replace a SUV with a compact car at the same rate. However most unsettling is how making changes at the counter to appease counter, agents... who by the way...discussed my rental situation in front of other customers.... was so poorly handled. Alamo BWI made me change my return flight match even though my car rental was for FEWER days than my flight itinerary. I spent a few hundred dollars on site changing my flight to match the date ON SITE... only to be told by Alamo management the problem was that i made the change in real time in front of them. What??!?? I am in town for a week and a half, but I only need a car rental for 3 days.... and that's a problem????? So I left because clearly, Alamo BWI no longer wants or values my business. I walked right out and booked next door at a different rental company. read more

Easily one of the best rental experiences we've had in 30+ years of renting cars. Check in was smooth, fun and friendly. That is not often the case for this basically administrative function. In the garage, the attendant upgraded us from an economy to a full size vehicle. Nice! Car return was equally simple. All of this plus a very budget friendly price point. Rented a car from here last month and there were some adjustments that we're supposed to be made regarding this rental. Unfortunately, their systems were down at the time and they told me they would follow up with the platform I booked through and promised they'd fix this. Since then, they have generally been uncooperative and disorganized and aren't seriously following up. I called their hotline and someone called me back from this location from an unreachable number and provided another number that was supposed to be direct, that was also disconnected. It shouldn't be this difficult to reach someone and for an issue to be resolved. read more

Pleasant experience with my rental from BWI airport. There was only one person in front of me waiting to check in; which, was wonderful as I have waited in other rental cars long lines at other airports. I selected a compact SUV and was pleasantly surprised that you are able to select from those available as you walk out the garage. Overall, the car was newer, clean, and w/apple car play. Car was fine. Rental check-in process was fine. Then I returned my car, realized I left my phone in the console because I was using the map, walked back to the car less than 10 minutes per the video the police reviewed, and my phone was not in the car. After tracking it with my iPad, I could see that my phone was moving around the parking garage -- most likely in the pocket of an employee. :-/ I know it's just a phone for most people, but I use my phone to control my insulin pump and CGM so kind of a big deal that someone stole it out of the car and refused to return it. Rented a car on Nov 19 at 8:00 am and returned on Nov 20 at 3:45 am. Parked the car in the area that has a huge red sign RETURN CAR HERE. No attendant and nobody on Alamo booth inside the facility. I was instructed by the attendant the day before to leave the car in the lot with keys inside when returning. While on the plane, they sent an email that I did not return the car. Charged the cc for Nov 20. Today, they charged me for 2 more days. They claimed that they cannot locate the car. I feel that they are not actively looking for the car. I also prepay the fuel that I use for 30 miles (wrong decision) and worried that someone is driving the car around. This situation causes me anxiety and panic attack. Update: after several calls, the person at the location put effort in finding the car. It is now resolved. Thank you! read more

I rent through Alamo because of Costco. I figure I get quality at Costco and Should expect the same with whoever they do business with. Think again. I have made two phone calls trying to get my rental switched or cleaned. They told me to take it to Philadelphia or Lexington Maryland both at least 3 a three hour drive for me. I'm actually embarrassed to drive this filthy car around and honestly concerned that my son and I will catch something in it. We rented this dirty car from BWI and will likely never do business with Alamo rental car again. The customer service I received after the car made me feel that something would get done but nothing is getting resolved. I am disappointed with both Alamo rental and Costco Wholesale. Still no response from Alamo. They sent me an empty email. Customer service means nothing to them. read more

Imagine traveling for 17 hours with two little kids and then arriving at the rental location, just to stand in line with 13 people ahead of you... and not move for 20 minutes. As I stood in line for the competitor's rental, I booked a rental with Alamo for the same car at a lower rate... and walked over. It was almost 11 PM and I was exhausted. Bryan patiently and happily finished with the couple he was processing and then turned me with an energetic greeting and friendly smile. He made the check out process quick and simple and got us on our way (while the competitor's line continued to barely even crawl). When we got to the booth in the parking garage, Keith pleasantly greeted us and gave us a quick run down of our options. We didn't know the differences between the vehicles, but he gave us a suggestion and we took it. The Buick Envision that he recommended provided a smooth, easy, and fun drive. Bryan and Keith helped start our visit with positivity and optimism. I am grateful for their assistance and their great attitudes. read more

Horrible experience! Flew in from Vegas for my grandmothers funeral, the gentleman at the counter was nice, I get outside to get the car and the customer service person Keith was very nice. We get to the rental and the windshield is cracked so Keith calls for someone to bring another vehicle. After waiting 45 mins still no vehicle. Keith called several times and nothing. Finally the manager Malik comes over and says it's going to take a while because some vehicles needed to be cleaned. I said sir we've been waiting almost an hour so that's been plenty of time. He then offers a regular suv and is I paid for a premium so are you able to take some money off of the price. He then goes into how he can't do it I would have to wait until I return the car and someone could do it then. He also said he couldn't go up to the area to get a vehicle for me. Excuses, excuses, excuses no apology! After a few calls on his walker talkie he says a suv is on its way down. After 30min still no vehicle and manager Malik is no where in sight . Customer service rep Keith is on his walker talkie asking for an update and nothing. I ended up settling for a sedan just so that we could get out of the hot garage and on our way. I arrived tired after a few delayed flights late at night/morning 7/7-7/9). I went to the counter at BWI and was pleasantly greeted by "Jasmine." Jasmine was personable, professional and a gem. I let her know that I would remember her name, because my daughter also shared the same name. Jasmine quickly assisted me with my luxury car and I was very pleased with her service. I had a hiccup when I got the car in the garage area. The initial lady was helpful. Another unknown lady approached me afterwards and started questioning me. This lady wanted to see my paperwork. I explained Jasmine and a lady at Alamo already helped me. This unknown lady did not care. I felt like I was being harrassed. DO NOT USE ALAMO! If I could give 0/5 stars I would!!!! My dad and I rented a Jeep Compass from Alamo for a week and barely even drove it. At the end of our trip (the very last day) the car began to make strange sounds and as we drove it to the rental car facility near BWI before our flight the whole car began to violently shake. When we were 10 minutes away from the rental car facility the passenger side wheel CAME OFF on an extremely busy interstate! It was terrifying and we could have been a really bad accident. My dad pulled to the shoulder and proceeded to call Alamo for road side assistance and a ride to the airport. They told him they would send a tow. We stood on the shoulder by the car for TWO HOURS. When my dad called 40 minutes into waiting to ask AGAIN about the tow the Alamo representative told him that they hadn't even CALLED the tow truck yet! Alamo would not set up a ride for us to get to the airport, instead they kept transferring my dad to a taxi company so my dad could deal with finding us a ride to the airport. The taxi company kept asking us for an address and my dad explained to them 5 or 6 times that we were stuck on the shoulder and very precisely explained where we were suck. The taxi never came!!! Luckily a random good samaritan picked us up and took us to the airport with 20 minutes to spare. We barely made our flight and Alamo was absolutely USELESS. We will never use them again and the fact that the car broke down on a busy freeway was extremely scary and dangerous. The fact that they did not immediately call a tow when we told them we needed help was ridiculous. They would not provide us with a ride to the airport or even just to the rental car facility (which by the way was 7 minutes away) was also absolutely ridiculous because no taxi or uber was willing to pick us up on the shoulder of a freeway. Do not rent a vehicle from Alamo!!!! UPDATE: one of my family members just passed where we had to leave the car and it's STILL sitting on the side of the freeway. It is now the next day 12pm their time and this incident happened at 6pm yesterday. They never even sent the tow! INSANE. read more

The car and experience was great until we dropped it off and accidentally left a purse in the car. We returned within 10 minutes to retrieve it and a significant amount of cash had been taken out of it. The manager was notified but did not even come speak to me about it. Customer service said he would review tapes but he would not, he simply told me to file a claim. Very dishonest and disappointing. Please avoid if you can. read more

The process of car rental has been smooth. The line was a little long and informative. It seems that upwelling is encouraged here. Similar to fast food's, 'Do you want fries with that?', they ask about upgrading the type of car, the insurance, the gas tank options (prepay for a full tank, even though it's cheaper to refill a partial tank, if there's time of course) A family was given a truck and encouraged to upgrade to get a car with an enclosed trunk. A man with a company paid rental was persuaded to upgrade to a car with more leg room and insurance that cost between 23 and 43 dollars per day. I came with my deal made through Hotwire.com. My insurance, through Allianz was 9 dollars per day, covering collision. I was ask to add liability. I did not. The service was good, just come informed. It's like avoiding grocery shopping when you're hungry. read more

Visited December 15 and my experience was exceptional. Armoni took great care of me, taking time to explain the vehicle features and giving details regarding the Sirius/SM. The prices were great. I did opt for the pre-filled fuel because of an extremely early flight and did not want to wander around Baltimore in the wee hours of the morning looking for cheap gas. I have an upcoming rental for a family vacation and I could not believe that AVIS was a much better price for the exact same vehicle and time. I called Alamo 800 number but they did not seem interested in matching prices and keeping a long time customer. Sad to have to go elsewhere but the difference is significant. read more

This was the absolute worst rental experience ever. First the gave me a car that needed repairs. (During my travels the car kept advising me that the car needed repairs at so many miles.)Secondly, I was quoted 383.64 but when I got to the rental agency; my rental rate was changed to $624 for the weekend. I complied because I didn't want to make a big stink and I had to go. For all of the money that I spent they didn't even offer complimentary satellite radio. Since, I've been traveling frequently NextCar and Enterprise offer this enhancement. I called Alamo's CSR department they wanted me to give the an additional $5.99 per day for satellite radio. (The other two offer complimentary satellite radio) I just feel as through if I was quoted one price and then having to pay another price once I get to Alamo( $624) I should have gotten all the bells and whistles because of the amount of money that I spent. This was my very last time renting a car from Alamo. read more

After a 10 minute shuttle ride from BWI you'll get to the rental center and Alamo is all the way to the left. I've rented from Alamo dozens of times. I use Rentalcars.com so basically whomever has the best deal, I choose, and Alamo has had good deals, but not always. The process to rent is usually the same each time: run to the head of the line, because there usually are always lines. Then hand them a credit card and drivers license. Make sure to decline the upgrade that they tell you about because likely they won't have your chosen car in stock anyway so you'll get an automatic free upgrade! My credit card also covers me for any liability related to an accident so I always decline any insurance offers. Finally, I decline the fuel fill up, because rarely will I arrive at the rental center with an empty tank, therefore I always fill up before I return the car to the rental center. The service was typical and nothing unusual to remark about this rental center. read more

Listen! I usually don't give reviews on Rental vehicles when traveling because l, well, it's a rental. However, on July 6 all that changed! My wife and I were in town for my aunts 80th Birthday surprise party. We had not too long landed at BWI through Southwest Airlines. I expected to just grab a rental (full size) and head to the hotel. Well, boy was I wrong in my planning!!! After arriving at the Rental facility at BWI, we met a young lady there by the name of Mikel. She must have sensed my frustration to see the long lines for a rental and because we had reservations already... she helped us to use the kiosk instead of waiting in the long line. She also assisted several others as she walked us through (there were several kiosks) and once we were done, Mikel walked us outside to where we needed to be. She then stated, you may now pick out the car that you desire in the field that you chose. Well, my heart was bent on the Charger because I like how it rides, but when I didn't see one, I was willing to settle with a Nissan Altima (because we own a Altima and Armada). But Mikel again sensing something in my voice, said "Mr Brown, let me check in the back to see what they may have." Well they didn't have the Charger, but they had a 2018 Challenger of the same family and it was sleek and clean, all black, and had a black interior to die for! When I sat behind the wheel, Mikel said "be careful and I hope you enjoy!" This car met and exceeded all of my expectations! I only filled it once and that was upon its return. It doesn't guzzle like the old challenger nor the CHARGER! The Hemi didn't disappoint. Now, this may sound like a review for this car but it's not! Most times, you get your rental from the airport, they point you in the right direction and that is it. Mikel is the perfect example of Customer Service done right!!!! She met my needs, and when they couldn't help because of the Charger not being available, she made a suggestion that I knew because she paid attention and saw that I would be the only driver, offered me something with a little muscle to please me. Thank you Mikel for your attentiveness and alertness to not stop because you could! You tried to help all of the people that I saw you help at each kiosk. This is how Professional service should be. I rented my first car ever with this Alamo location and It was great! I needed a car for a surprise road trip for my girlfriend and I. One of the most important things I will say is that if you don't need a lot of the extras they offer, the "Skip a Counter" feature is so EASY and FAST. The process goes exactly how they explained it. I literally made the reservation, walked straight into the garage, representative told me to just pick out a vehicle that was under my chosen class, the garage operator scanned my barcode, briefly explained my coverage and dues, and I was on my way. No hassle whatsoever. No Hidden Fees. Drop off was simple as well. In addition, the customer service was great too. Compared to some other horror stories I've seen about their competitors in the same rental car facility, this location was great. My full size Chevrolet Malibu car was very clean, nice smell, and no operating issues. I LOVED that car for the brief time I had it LOL The car couldn't have been more than 3 years old if I had to guess. Alamo will DEFINITELY be my first choice whenever I need to rent another vehicle. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. Check in kiosks consistently malfunctioned so standing in line was faster. Lied to us about availability of reserved size. (I can prove it.) Forced us to switch cars to an identical car at exit gate for no adequately explained reason. Staff yelled (for real) at my wife and threatened to cancel contract for something she did not do, while my daughter was in the back seat cringing in fear (this man was huge and I seriously thought he was going to assault my wife). Upon return, billl was $100 over contract cost. Had to get it fixed at counter. Was told it was a "computer error" (yeah... right). In summary, from checkin to checkout, every step was grievously mishandled by staff. The big guy that yelled at us should be fired immediately. Rented a car with Alamo when I came to visit my hometown last week, and it was a good experience! Customer Service was nice, and was super glad they keep the reservation for 24 hours! My flight was delayed two hours, but having the ease of still going to pick up the car without a problem was great! The only thing that was confusing was returning the car. GPS isn't quite accurate and the signs were pretty small. Other than that, very good experience and great price! read more

I've rented with Alamo several times and twice at the BWI airport. They have a skip the line option available at this location and the attendant inside the garage will take you on a tour of the available vehicles in your rented class. He will tell you, take your pick! The SUVs I've rented are super clean and my last rental only had 5 miles on the odometer it when I picked it up. That's what I'm talking about! Typically the most inexpensive place to rent in the spring. Be sure to sign up for their Alamo Insiders program to get the best deal. read more
