I politely declined and stood my guard and stated I needed a larger car. First, they were saying this is all they have. For a Monday morning, I found that to be unacceptable. Don't make false promises . I confirmed my reservation the Thursday before and was assured that my reservation was good. Cuz I stood on businesses. All I knew was that someone would bring me a car because I was gonna be in a dinky car. Amanda told us we had nothing else but a sports car. Ok, I didn't mind at all. The car I had was nice. It took a minute to get used to. When it came to return the car, I was sad. They offer pick up and drop off from the repair facility. All the staff here are very professional and offer excellent customer service. Amanda was great in showing me how to navigate my rental.. Assured me that the other insurance will take care of everything. It helps that there are nearby gas stations to fill up. You wanna make sure the gas is on point. Otherwise, they will charge you more. Definitely recommend this location, but make sure you have reservations and make sure your promises are being honored.

    I was moving in Arlington, Virginia and had scheduled to pick up a truck at a different Budget…read moretruck rental (within walking distance from the apartment I was moving from) on Sunday morning. I made the reservation two weeks early, and had re-confirmed it a few days before. But less than 24 hours before I'm scheduled to pick up my truck, I get a call telling me that "we won't have your truck, call the main customer service number and get them to send you to a location where there is a vehicle for you". Well that sucks. Budget supposedly charges you $50 if you cancel your reservation without giving them 48 hours notice, but it's apparently OK for them to make changes at the last minute? Well, that's not good, I've got movers coming! So I call Budget, and they apologize for the inconvenience. Then they reschedule me to a different location. No longer walking distance, but I can take a taxi or a bus, no big deal. To make sure, though, I call the new location. "Sorry, honey", the lady there says to me, "we won't have any trucks either. You have to call them back." So I call the number back, and this same scenario played out three times more! The people at all the other places (in D.C. and in Silver Springs) don't even want to try to help me, they just want me to get off the phone as fast as possible. I'm so angry I'm shaking. Then the Silver Springs person puts me through to this Gaithersburg location on Woodfield Rd, and I talk to Million Gebreab who is the Operator there. Million is the first person at Budget who seems genuinely interested in helping me. He tells me he has trucks available, and not to worry. Call him on Sunday morning, and he'll have one set aside for me. I call him on Sunday, and all is well. I drive up there - not walking distance like I planned, now it's 35 miles to drive! - and Million gets me hooked up (at a lower rate than I expected even). He finds me a parking spot for my car nearby, and there it stands safely until I return the truck the next day. Million was the only person at Budget who was actually HELPFUL, rather than offering platitudes of being "sorry for the inconvenience". I'm taking one star off only because it's a Budget truck rental, and I sure as heck won't be using that company again...

They take about 20-30 minutes per customer. Only have one person working there to do the paperwork, get the truck ready, etc). Also, they don't allow customer parking in their lot so if you come here you'll need to bring an extra driver to pick up and return the truck. At least the guy who works here is nice.

I wasn't worried since I had paid an extra $30 plus per day for insurance. They got what they could from my insurance and said someone would get back to me about any charges I would be responsible for. Then more than 2 months later without any warning they charged over $4,000 to my credit card. When I spoke to 4 different people in customer service they were rude and not knowledgeable. They kept insisting on me giving my information repeatedly and then told me to call a different number that was transferring back to the same customer service. I tried to explain that's how I kept getting the same people. But, they didn't know why the phones were ringing back to them. I spoke to a "supervisor" who told me the car wasn't returned for a month. I had the first car 4 days and the second one less than a day. This person also said "it's not our fault that you got in an accident". No, but they should be better at dealing with the aftermath as it is part of their daily business. I will never rent from them again. My insurance increased and they charged me more than $4,000. Obviously I am embarrassed about the accidents and instead of trying to get a 3rd car, I paid an Uber $280 to drive me back home. The $4,000 charge from Avis was more than twice what my credit limit was at the time. Why is that allowed? I am dealing with that with Chase while I try to reach someone at Avis. They way this has been handled is unacceptable. Fortunately I have emails that will prove the car was not kept for as long as they said and the fees are greatly overinflated.

I was here yesterday with one person behind the desk, and three people ahead of me. I waited almost a full hour before I was able to leave. This has to be one of the worst experiences renting a car that I have ever had. Management needs to realize that they are short staff. It doesn't take a four year degree to realize that. I am thankful I was helped and able to get a car. UPDATE: employee came back after 15 min, while on his cell phone, visibly high. Did not offer an apology with three ppl waiting. Just took two of our keys and asked if the tank was full. After, he said we can go. Did not check anything at all.
