After that was fixed, it's now almost a week later and I still don't have it or my $300 deposit back. When I called today, I was hung up on and when I was able to be place on hold, wait times were ridiculous. Over 10 minutes. Staff do not seem to know how to properly handle calls. All I need is my receipt to submit for insurance, but the lack of customer service has made this a nightmare.

They got what they could from my insurance and said someone would get back to me about any charges I would be responsible for. Then more than 2 months later without any warning they charged over $4,000 to my credit card. When I spoke to 4 different people in customer service they were rude and not knowledgeable. They kept insisting on me giving my information repeatedly and then told me to call a different number that was transferring back to the same customer service. I tried to explain that's how I kept getting the same people. But, they didn't know why the phones were ringing back to them. I spoke to a "supervisor" who told me the car wasn't returned for a month. I had the first car 4 days and the second one less than a day. This person also said "it's not our fault that you got in an accident". No, but they should be better at dealing with the aftermath as it is part of their daily business. I will never rent from them again. My insurance increased and they charged me more than $4,000. Obviously I am embarrassed about the accidents and instead of trying to get a 3rd car, I paid an Uber $280 to drive me back home. The $4,000 charge from Avis was more than twice what my credit limit was at the time. Why is that allowed? I am dealing with that with Chase while I try to reach someone at Avis. They way this has been handled is unacceptable. Fortunately I have emails that will prove the car was not kept for as long as they said and the fees are greatly overinflated.

This has to be one of the worst experiences renting a car that I have ever had. Management needs to realize that they are short staff. It doesn't take a four year degree to realize that. Progressive made the reservation and I scheduled them to come pick me up from Crash Champions in Gaithersburg. They were a bit late picking me up the receptionist at Crash Champions had to call them to determine when they were coming. I had to go to work so this step was really annoying. Finally they pick me up in a ragged van and the driver hit on me the entire time so I was pretty uncomfortable and annoyed. Once I arrived at enterprise it was a smooth process however, I had to pay $100 instead of $50 in which progressive told me I would have to pay. So I need them to get their communication together. Other than that I had a decent experience.

They explained everything in detail and made certain that I had everything that I'd need for my rental. The process of picking up the car and then dropping it back off was easy and relatively quick, considering the number of people there for the same reason, and I didn't have any issues with anything.

Never in decades of life have I ever arrived at a car rental that I have made in advance to find it was fake. They claim they tried to contact me but I got no email and no phone call. I asked if any compensation could be given, and the employee told me "maybe if I call corporate I can get some points." No way, if this happens, it should be an automatic discount next time at least. Now I'm scrambling on how to get a car in time for the important event I needed to get to. Stay away. Hertz, either you need to properly stock cars here or shut down the location. Shame on you.
