Ask for car, get car... more than you can say for a lot of places. Also they are always very pleasant which is nice.

So it is 2 weeks and counting.... 10 calls to customer service and the tolls department. Still trying to find out how to get the toll charges removed that incurred after I had to cross the Throggs Neck Bridge from JFK because that was the only Enterprise office opened at the time to replace the Enterprise vehicle that broke down on me. Imagine being inconvenienced for 5 hours, driven in a tow truck from Westchester to JFK then getting there and being told you have to wait for them to find you a replacement. Now imagine you get charged for trip back home that night just shy of midnight for crossing back over the bridge. I needed to rent a car last minute for a work trip to NH and this was the closest location to our house. I called after booking online and spoke with Peter, he was super kind and understanding that I needed the car to be smoke and pet free so I hoped for the best. When I arrived at the location for pick up Peter wasn't there but I was happily surprised when the first thing Kacie said was not to worry that Peter had left her notes. Kacie showed me to the car and helped me with paperwork. It was perfect and I picked up and dropped off the car with easy. Just an FYI they were all wearing masks and put on gloves to help you, and there are no fewer than 5 things of Purell on the counter. It was a great experience. read more

I rented a car over July 4 weekend. When I arrived July 1, these guys were very busy (last minute holiday rentals, I'm assuming) but still kept good spirits and got to me quickly. My only minor issue was not knowing where to park the car when I arrived back on the 4th, as the office was closed and I was dropping the key off in the dropbox. Perhaps they normally point this out and just forgot given how busy they were, but it is something they should be sure future customers know since the small lot by the office lot fills quickly. read more

I have to share how unprofessional Amie Gomez (branch rental manager) and Kacie Converse (assistant branch manager were to my fiancé! He rented a car for his work as a tree had fell on his truck .... the car he had rented from Central Ave WP was too small for his work needs so he stopped by the Mamaroneck enterprise for something a little bigger, upon entering he waited as the manager was on the phone which was clearly a personal call, and continued to stay on the call for at least 10min while he was waiting the assistant entered ignoring my fiancé and asked the manager while she was still on her personal call "is he being helped" the manger responds no! Bad customer service!!!!! Then she asks him "what are you looking for?" He explained the above and her response was "well you never got that car from us" he responded with "I believe I can take it back to any enterprise or trade it in for something that works better for my needs and you actually have one here that will work better for me".Kacie response was "it will be an extra $70" at that point the manager whom finally came off her personal call said "no it will be $170" WAIT WHAT? confused my fiancé asked which price is it $70 or $170 they both went silent for a moment then the manager Amie said "it's really $370" .... frustrated he asks them to call the person he was dealing with at the other location and they say that it has nothing to do with the other person from the other enterprise, he decided to call himself a and speaks to the person he dealt with and tells him "I have an idiotic situation going on here" and explains the price change within a 5min span, the other person called to ask them to please take care of my fiancé in return they said NO!!!!! My fiancé took his phone and left as the 2 girls just did not want to do the switch... so beware when renting from Enterprise especially the Mamaroneck Enterprise. Both managers excuse was we thought he called us idiots WOW no ladies that was not the case you actually thought my fiancé was one by quoting him 3 different prices within 5 min. This is my response to Enterprise Customer Care below whom replied to my review ...my fiancé called your department on the same day ithis happened and explained everything that went on he was told someone would be calling him back THAT NEVER HAPPENED hence reason the review and BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE all around ! I'm sure you will have all the details when he called about the complaint... maybe retraining and some coaching will help in both departments on how to service a client. Let's start from the beginning; told they would puck us up at 8am, didn't pick us up until 9am. They programmed the gps (address we're going to and the return address) and away we went to our destination. 2 hours later we get to our place. Got in the car to come back, following the gps, it took us 7 hours to get back. Thanks idiots! Couldn't travel the next day, layed up in bed, got in at 2am. Returned the car a day early and all they could do for us is take off the cost of the gps. What about the second day? These people don't take thier mistakes seriously. Don't use them! They don't care about you, they just care about the money! read more

Bad situation... this rental location has a parking area for about 4 cars, so they directed me to park the car on a residential street when I returned it. Apparently, their residential neighbors don't appreciate it, and two of them actually confronted me, looking for an argument. I told them their issue should be with the rental people not me... then the guy follows me in his car all the way back to the rental office... really don't need the aggravation. It is not a good situation and is the result of the rental location having virtually no place to park their cars other than on residential streets. read more

I usually use Avis tried enterprise for my first time will be the last! The car was the worst I have ever rented before. It was a 2014 but drove like a 2000 run down van. Brakes weren't great, had other issues! Not only that they put a $450 hold on my credit without even informing me for no reason!!!! And I rent cars pretty often because I only own small Vehicles. I never had a company place a hold on my credit card which stayed on my card for days after returning the car! Returned the car Sunday! They told me someone would call me and let me know when they check the car out! Never recieved a call from anyone just another charge for the price for the car rental! After leaving a note they could care less about what I had to say!!!! NEVER GO THERE AGAIN !!!!!! read more

I've rented from a myriad of Enterprise locations around the country, and despite one snafu from Enterprise corporate (not this location's fault), this was definitely one of my more seamless Enterprise experiences. We had a great car with leather, a sunroof, and all the bells and whistles. We returned the car Sunday night, and I had told them I would like to pay by my debit card, rather than the credit card used for the reservation. I was told this would be no problem, and that I should just call on Monday morning. I completely forgot to call until 4:00 P.M., but Jen at Enterprise waited for me, which made my rental a very pleasing experience. read more

Though the gentleman through whom I booked the car by phone relayed incorrect information (e.g., I needed to be picked up, versus picking the car up myself), the Mamaroneck team quickly resolved the miscommunication and VERY speedily got me on the road. This location was deceitful regarding my rental situation. I came to this location from a body shop who was supposedly paying for the rental and when I arrived at the location and went through the process I wasn't made aware that I would be getting charged for rental insurance when I never even asked for it. I don't understand why they would even have asked for my credit card for a deposit when the body shop was supposed to take care of it. I figured it would be okay because the receptionist said they would return it to my card when I return the vehicle. Long story short I ended up getting charged for three days of rental insurance. I was asked to sign an ipad for the rental agreement and they give you the ipad ready to sign so you don't notice the charge for the rental insurance. I proceeded to call the site to explain my situation and the "manager" proceeded to say that her receptionist would never do something like that and that the manager would be calling me after she discussed this with whoever it is she said she was discussing it with. Never received a phone call, its been about two weeks. What kind of a Manager runs this place? read more

For many years I have rented from Enterprise in Mamaroneck because my car mechanic is in Mamaroneck (if you ever need a good mechanic C & S Foreign Car Service is great!) because I have an older car that I'm not ready to part with just yet...so when the car is in the shop I rent and the Mamaroneck office staff is always great, friendly, efficient, and ready to help me out! It's too bad about this location. The people were very nice and it's very convenient to the Metro North Station, walkable and in a nice area. The problem is dropping off after hours. If you're like me + you're a city person renting a car for the weekend, dropping off a car at 12 pm is not an option--why bother. The staff was very open to leaving cars after hours, which I appreciate. What they do NOT tell you is that the town police has it out for this business--it's a serious source of revenue for tickets. I left the car in a spot that was very small + I wasn't sure if it was a parking spot or not as the entire lot was full and some cars were even double parked. I was ticketed and the manager phoned me the next day + said that I was charged $200 for a handicapped spot. Mind you the spot I parked in WAS NOT a handicapped spot and my card was charged. The ticket provided no phone number or email to contact to dispute, only a date to appear in court. I was not able to attend the court date so there literally was no recourse I could take. The manager emailed me but really wasn't able to offer any help or split the ticket with me given that it wasn't right--I didn't park in a handicapped spot. I am a loyal and many-year Enterprise preferred member + renter but this will make me think twice about renting from them again. The staff really really needs to be up front about drop offs after hours and explain where it is + isn't ok to park + raise awareness over the risk of tickets. Given how many people have share this too, it's clearly an issue for this franchise. Also the car i rented was pretty subpar, it sputtered and stalled and was no where near the condition I would expect from Enterprise. That really was the least of my issues here, but I wanted to share that too given that my $345 one-day rental was not exactly even a premium ride. read more

Ive been renting from Enterprise for over 10 years and never had an experience this bad. They left me a message that my total came to $350 instead of the $105 I agreed to, because the police had issued me a ticket for leaving my returned car in a handicapped spot. The only thing, is that I DIDN'T park in the handicapped spot!!! Perhaps my vehicle was confused with someone else? It also turns out that 10 other customers were issued parking tickets at the same location, on the same Sunday (according to the manager) which "they cannot be responsible for". This obviously means that they don't provide adequate return parking, and (since they don't post any signs about this) they don't care about their customers. It turns out that they even charged me about $40 tax on the ticket. That's not even legal!!! I've called the manager, Marie, every day to ask when that credit will be issued. Every day she promises it, but it's been a week now and I don't see any credit. I work for a fortune 500 company, and if this is not amicably resolved I will personally see to it that we change our preferred car rental agency to Hertz. I will never rent from Enterprise again! And just for the record, the customer service used to be 150% better 10 years ago. read more

My insurance carrier put in a voucher for a car rental on a Monday during a repair . I spoke to the manager irene on the phone on Friday .She had telephoned me asking what kind of car I wanted . I explained to her I wanted nothing larger than my Audi A3 , not SUVs . I dropped off my car at the repair shop and Enterprise picked me up . My choice was a Nissan Altima or 2.5 Audi SUV . Obviously I was annoyed . They told me they did not have many small economy cars . So what was the point of my telling them what I needed if they could not honor it ? I told them I was not driving either car . I then had them return me to the repair shop. On the way there I called Enterprise and asked them if they were going to get me a car I requested or did I need to go somewhere else . irene then told me they were not renting me a car and I should go somewhere else . Wonderful customer service . I put the repair shop on the phone and they then found me a car which I was told would be delivered to them . I said what time and they told me I should call back and check . I said how about you call me when it comes ? I called my insurance carrier and they called Enterprise and told them to get me a car I felt comfortable driving . The insurance company then told me a car was coming in an hour . When I called after an hour the man at Enterprise said Whats up ? I told him they had told my insurance carrier that the car was coming in an hour . Never ever would use them after this experience . read more

Neko, a visiting manager at this location was terrific. It wasn't until we reached the office after Neko picked us up from the collision place did our experience sour. Our insurance company told us how much of an allowance we had, and the rental manager disagreed. Then we were told that the authorized amount would only cover an economy car, and we said fine, we don't need anything more. They asked if we would like a larger car, but it would be an upgrade, and they would charge us more. We said no thank you, we will stick with the smaller car. Turns out they didn't have any economy cars per our reservation. Neko, rightfully so, offered us the upgrade at no additional cost. But before he could finish the transaction in the computer, one of the local managers sprung into action and said no, we will not honor the same rate. I asked if Neko was a manager, she said yes. I then asked if she was a manager, she said one of them. I stated that I don't get it...you didn't like what the other manager offered us, you don't have a small economy car per the accepted reservations, and you are still going to charge us...and she just went about her business and charged us for the upgrade with a snotty attitude. I have been renting from Enterprise for 20 years, as do my staff, and have never experienced this kind of customer service. They just don't understand that it is not about the $3.00 a day upgrade costs, it is, however, about how you get treated in the process. Neko, find yourself a new company to work for! I know I will take advantage of my other options in the future. read more

Renting a car from this location was seem less and effortless. I needed a Suburban to travel to MA to pick up furniture and return home. They had no problem acquiring the car I needed. Getting on my way the day I needed to leave was easy and the rep was helpful. Returning the car after hours on a Saturday was no problem. All in all a breeze. I live in the area and always use this Enterprise location with my rental needs and have always had a good experience. read more

I am a regular customer of Enterprises rental car of Fayetteville Ga, I was issue a damage car on Friday 9/11/2016. When I called the Fayetteville office 3 time same day and asked for a manager assistance, management would not take my call. I called roadside assistance and they called the Fayetteville office after I asked them to call the cooperate office, and the manage Justin pick up for them. I explain to Justin how I have been on hold since about 12N and that was now after 2pm, he talked me through the problem in less than 5 minutes. He would allow the road side service to give me the cooperate number for my complaint. I returned the car Monday 9/12/2016, he did not give me anything off for issuing me a damage car, and gave me an incorrect number for cooperate, and his area manager email address. I emailed his manager Michael, and have not heard back from him, and today Tuesday. I did not feel valued and it was a really bad experience. I will not use Enterprise rent a car anymore. read more

I rented a minivan for one day, Saturday on October 19th 2013 at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Mamaroneck, NY. When I returned the minivan that same night, I accidentally left my iPad on the floor of the minivan. I noticed this after I locked the van and deposited the key into a dropbox. I could see the iPad through the glass window. I left a voicemail asking the staff of Enterprise to get the iPad on Monday morning and return to me. On Monday morning, they told me that nothing was found. I even drove to the office to discuss this with them in person. On Apple's website I reported the iPad as lost. That same night, around 8pm I received an email from Apple that my iPad was located by the Apple's "Locate iPad" feature somewhere in the Bronx; it even gave me the exact address. I went to the Enterprise' s website and reported this and ask for their assistance, or at least to check if one of their employees lives at that address. 3 days have passed - no response, not even any acknowledgement of receiving my request. I do not think I will use Enterprise Rent-A-Car ever again. Very sad; I never had this experience before. read more
