The actual process was that the front desk attendant, who said she was new and didn't know how to access the information, asked us to repeat all of the same steps that we had done prior to arrival. This made me feel like the system was just gaming us to get more personal info and for reasons that didn't benefit the guest. Who knows. I doubt any nefarious actions were at the root of the behaviors of the front desk. I suppose the hotel chain online presence was attempting to provide convenience. The good intentions in this case failed, resulting in more inconveniences and exposure to the ill managed (even if well intentioned purposes) process of easy registration and check in, as well as poorly trained personnel. Am I upset? No - just annoyed by this aspect of our experience. The breakfast was great and the front desk attendant(s), as well as breakfast attendants were all friendly enough and thoughtful in all the ways one would expect. Thanks for a clean room and good night of rest. The only other things I would note is that the beds were quite firm. The beds were Q U I T E firm - but they were not old and floppy. The location is also noisy - as in road noise, we faced the road and heard the traffic all night long as the background noise during our sleep time.

We brought a picnic and the fur babies and made a day of it! The only tiny complaint was the QR codes were scratched out so there was no way for people to pay for parking. A sign update is definitely needed but this was during the government shutdown so I'm sure that wasn't available. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked, trails were in excellent shape, trash cans were pretty full due to all the people but not overflowing. If you can make it on a week day it would be a lot easier to find parking. This is an Oklahoma must do!

They have a carnival and inflatables for kids too. But this state park itself is one of my favorites. I've been going since I was a child, and the lake is so beautiful. I love to rent a paddleboat! They have yurts to rent, putt putt golf, and a snow cone/coffee stand that has become better and better over the years. The lookout kitchen is finally open after that whole debacle with the state, but I need to go back and try it. The building is beautiful though and right in the water. We've camped here in our RV too, and the spots are spacious, quiet, and very woodsy. It's always fun to hike up to the cave too. The history of this area is so cool. The trails are great, and there are options for ability levels. I always go green or yellow. You can often find people rappelling too! Definitely give this state park a try.

Even the window curtains magnetically seal to block out all light. - also.. the hotel is situated in a good location in McAlester, although not easy to find because it is behind the Lowe's. Decent exercise room too. Cons: the king size bed we had was too hard and uncomfortable and I didn't like the pillows either, it was difficult to stay asleep. There is no breakfast at the hotel, but they do give you coupons for a Denny's next door. Also, the WiFi is painfully slow.. I found myself using my 4G data in lieu of the complimentary WiFi.

Brownie points for all HD cable channels and all the HBOs! A channel surfer/HDTV snob's dream! The staff is very friendly and efficient! Workout room looks legit and it doubles as a storm shelter! We ARE in Oklahoma and the storms are always brewing. Would recommend for sure if you're stopping in this town for the night!
