Great experience! I chose a midsize economy car, such as a Corolla. They gave me Hyundai Elantra, and I loved it! Customer service was exceptional, despite snow, the car was given to me ready to roll. Beautiful car, easy on gas, handled the Cumberland hills with ease. Was able to hook up my phone with a USB cable no problem. The car was clean and superbly functional, perfect for my needs. There was a place in the dash that worked perfectly for my EZ Pass transponder. Will definitely trust Enterprise again. Paid with my debit bank card with a 'clean' copy of my last power bill (no balance forward). Returned the car as I received it but for the inevitable snow and road dirt. When I returned, I packed up my stuff, gassed it up, and dropped it off, placing the keys in the night drop box. Full deposit retuned! Great Experience all around! Because we did not fly in to the airport, Enterprise would NOT rent us a car, even though I had reservations.

03/24/2026 Overall I rented a Mercedes-Benz SUV because my car was in the body shop. Enterprise called me for pickup toward the end of there day. Went to pick the car up and it was super busy and raining very hard, Representative gave me the keys and a walked around the car, however, it was raining very hard and dark outside so the walk around was super quick. Drove the car home not even 2miles and parked car, when I got up in the morning to drive car, I notice a crack in the mirror took a picture and notified Enterprise the damage and the tire pressure that indicated very low.. The Rep stated will note that I called and not to worry...Next thing I received a email from Collison Damage Department finding me liable for the damage and going to bill my insurance company. Called Enterprise about the issue and the Manager Day was very rude, telling me his employees do a theory walk through and my phone call was not noted AND he said I could of damage the car when I left the lot that day or the next day...VERY UPSET HE EVEN MADE THAT STATEMENT!!!! Contacted Collison Damage department sent the picture and call log to them.. I was just informed via call and email that I am not liable for the damage. That situation really stressed me out and New Castle Enterprise was no help to me. Moving forward they should really look at there cars before renting them out and stop blaming customer for your employees mistakes.... Never received Apology from the Manager either.. read more

So I had a reservation for 6 pm arrived at 530pm to find out they had no cars available even though I had reserved a car I sat an watch as people were turned away with reservations also sat and watched as people were transported from the new airport only to find out there were no cars available even though they too had reserved cars well around 715. I realized after. Seeing the long line forming of angry people that got of their flights to Delaware being told sorry no cars available even I heard a guy state he was attending a wedding in rehobeth beach back to me. I dropped my personal car of to get repaired so now I'm stranded I have to work in Dover an hour away tomorrow but luckily I phoned a friend and got a ride home I'm attaching a picture of the people the crowd in the lobby at 715 with no where else to go I was in line before them but I figured they had bigger problems than me. I want to be compensated for my time and my taxi ride to and from work 150.00 also please do something about customers being able to make a reservation when no cars are available and do not advertise for the airport when you are not station there people were really upset. There always seems to be a new person working who is in training and not very efficient. Also, they always seem to be short staffed, and it is not uncommon to have to wait even if you booked your reservation well in advance. The employees are usually nice and try to accommodate people, so the issues I've experienced/witnesses may just be a reflection of management. Their car selection is just ok. Out of the nearly 10 rentals I've had with them this year, only one was actually clean on the inside. The steering wheel is always filthy; but at least they provide a chlorox wipe for you. They allegedly prohibit smoking in the cars, but I can usually detect the smell of cigarettes. Also it's not uncommon to have to bring it to their attention that the rental's registration document has expired. Not the best enterprise location but not the worst either. read more

At the height of the Pandemic(February 2020). My car was totaled making a left turn. An entire year I rented from this site alone. Insurance,work recovery etc. They were always there for me. If they didnt have the vehicle I rented they made it happen. Most times with an upgrade.Cars were always sanitized and clean. And keeping the same vehicle at times was never an issue. The courtesy call and card verification helped lessen the stress of all that was going on. Nothing but good things to say in my experience. read more

They never seem to answer their phone and always shorthanded. How are they treating their employees?

Beyond terrible. Had to use this location after an accident just south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. 1) They price gouged, charging $125/day for a rental that should have been $70/day because it was handled through insurance. 2) They insisted on return to the same location even though this was not allowed due to being handled through insurance. 3) They dithered on correcting these problems, extending the rental period by five days. 4) They tried sneaking in improper extra fees once the other matters were sorted out. The manager needs to be fired. Anything less is unacceptable. read more

I tried to rent a vehicle from them and evidently over 12 years ago I had damage to the car that I had rented. Evidently they did not put it through to my insurance I called a couple months ago and was told that and then I contact my insurance company they were supposed to take care of it nothing ever happened. I need a car on Saturday today is Friday. I paid the fee, of course there is no ph # for the DNR only email. I have to wait till it posts and can take up to 72 hours. I have called corporate only to be rerouted back to call center in Missouri. Stay away from this company. They are horrible trying to settle issues. One customer service rep said she did email the district and regional manager of my area to alert them of my issue and hopefully resolve my issue. 2 hours later no reply. I now have to cancel a dr appt I have and wait 5 months to get back in due to this and I am not happy. Yes 5 months he is a specialist and is very very busy. I am on a time crunch here and when I said I need this done today within the hour or I will cancel the payment he told me I'm not helping you and hung up on me then 2 hours later got a email from that location confirming my reservation. I called and he was just as indignant as before. I expect customer service. I did what I was supposed to and I have to wait? You do not accept cash which is legal tender so I had to use a card which is why it is taking so long. I feel as though they could resolve this and are deliberately not. STAY AWAY!!! read more

CAUTION! Rented Cargo Van, Paid on CC in advance $838.68 (Confirmation K1644607875). Two minutes before office closing yesterday, FRIDAY, the New Castle location calls and says no van available but might be able to get BOX truck (what? don't need something that big are they kidding?) at another location. Called back the office - just closed. First thing next day July 2nd (holiday weekend needed this)... Calling and no answer. Called HQ closed, of course. You can not even leave message but I used the text to landline feature to leave one Friday. No response. Took my money and left me with nothing! I rented small storage facility in state moving so the financial loss is snowballing. Called Enterprise. They answered and rented a smaller van. HERTZ has a HORRIBLE BUSINESS MODEL and WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Husband now on phone cancelling credit card since Hertz won't answer. read more

First time experience with this location as I usually rent from other locations closer but the hours worked out for me this time around. I booked everything online and the location was easy to find off the road. Once I arrived, it was extremely busy as they were slammed and doing the best they could with the crowd and circumstances. They immediately acknowledged me and I told them I had a reservation for pickup. Person who assisted me immediately took care of the formalities and within few minutes had my car outside waiting (just washed, almost fully topped-off, and ready to go). After all things checked out, I was off and running. Upon return, the parking lot was a little difficult to navigate as cars enter and exit via same area from busy route. This location would benefit from a makeover off the parking lot especially to avoid any issues with possible accidents from folks coming off US-40. Check-in was easy as could be especially since I handle everything electronically. I handed over the keys and was on my way. Few moments later, my e-receipt arrived via email as expected. I would have given five stars if not for the chaos of the checkout and parking lot matter. Definitely, will keep this location in mind come next time. read more

Never returning to this location. They just charge my account without notice numerous times. The driver had to wrong address even though I spelled it out literally 3 times for them and said the one on google maps was wrong. I turned the car in a few weeks ago yet they keep taking money out of my account. Hundreds of dollars. Still with no notice. And I used my ezpass like I've done with all of my previous rental cars from the enterprise company and they took out $38 in ezpass "tolls" yet my ezpass account still got charged and I did not go through the tolls worth $38. Do NOT recommend this location, I will be returning to the Dover location near the Dover Air Force base!! read more

Great group of hard working people! Everything ran very smoothly. Everyone was very professional and politely personable, which is a huge plus in my book. The guys bent over backwards to make me happy. I enjoyed dealing with the staff at this location because they made my "loss of car trauma" a very positive experience. The vehicle was a brand new Jeep Renegade, and it was beautiful. Not one single complaint. This location will always be my go to place. Thank you for a wonderful experience! read more

On the plus side, the husky young guy who picked me up at the dealership was helpful and friendly. However, my experience left a sour taste. When I called for rates, they were sky high, so I checked online and got the same car for $20 per day rather than $40. The first car they tried to give me had the spare tire stolen. On the return side, they tried to charge me for a GPS I didn't rent from them, and I felt I had to make an ass of myself to get this resolved. The site was packed on a Monday at 4:30, and they really looked over the car I returned for any potential damage. Somehow, Enterprise in general brings out the worst in me. It is not the easy, low-stress experience of renting from the traditional companies at a (smaller) airport or other. Sometimes Enterprise is the only convenient option. However, before going with them, I sometimes see if I can do roughly as well with another...... online, and sometimes bidding on Priceline. Also, is anyone who works there age 30 or beyond? I assume they are all started out with high expectations, then most of them get weeded out. I may be biased, but I do not like this company. Their sister company, National is much better, as are Hertz or Avis in many cases. While I should not aim all of this at the New Castle location, the experience typifies what I've come to dislike about these folks. I use them when I have to, after first checking for other options. I don't like the games, the strategy, or the image in general, including most of their staff members. read more

Customer service. I was checked in and out by Blayne. He was wonderful. Both times I managed to be there during a rush. It seemed as if few people came in after me. By the time I left the waiting room was empty. Watching the employees, Blayne hustles and multi-taskes. Checking in here, one is with those renting because of vacations, trips, car crashes. I'm giving this location 3 stars because there was some miscommunication with my rate. I was given a discount due to being related to an insurance professional. I was told I could not receive my discount by Steven, I informed him that I was entitled to it and called my relative. Steven then called his boss and his boss called his. Meanwhile my sister (insurance employee), has her office call. I'm not sure exactly how it was resolved but nobody said a word to me, I just saw my credit card getting swiped. I then stood up to ask and was told by another person named Matt that I would receive my discount and things were fine. I really think for the hard time I was given going back and forth, something could've been said to acknowledge an outcome had been reached and that we could proceed. I feel like after they found out I could receive a discount things were handled rudely, Steve didn't even look or speak to me after. I've rented from enterprise numerous times and customer service has usually been great, this incident at this location did turn me off to reusing them. read more

This place is horrible. I rented there once before and had to wait an hour because the guy working the front desk was not able to answer simple questions about the car that was being rented. Then they asked me for a bunch of paperwork including two paystubs, utility bills and a major credit card. I was told over the phone that all I needed was one paystub and that I could rent with a debit card. I don't have a credit card so they wanted to charge me $400 as a down payment! Then when I asked about my refund, they said it could take anywhere from 3-10 business days. So I used the car for 1 day then have to wait almost two weeks to get my refund of $350??? Such crap! Customer service was great. Friendly staff, very attentive when I came in for the rental (without a reservation) and when I dropped off. Pick up/ drop off services were very timely and friendly, which was great. Loved my car, except it smelled like wet dog and cigarettes. Also, the parking lot is way too small for the amount of cars coming in and out off of the highway. Aside from the smell of my car and the parking lot situation, everything else was great. read more
