The kitchen was practically useless, with barely any equipment to prepare even a simple meal, and to top it off, the coffee machine didn't even work. The bathroom sink was clogged and emitted a strong rotten egg smell that filled the room--it was impossible to ignore, even when trying to sleep. We're supposed to stay here for a few more days, but honestly, it feels like a nightmare I can't wake up from. I've never been so eager to check out of a place in my life.

It was nice that we could see a high school rowing race one morning from our room. Breakfast is served downstairs. They had a pretty good offering of breakfast items. They had the usual items like scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. One of the mornings they served a smoked chicken for smoked chicken burritos. It was different and good. Along with these breakfast items, they also had coffee and juices. The gym is located on the first floor. They had sanitizing wipes to clean the machines before and after using the machines. A large screen tv was there for watching. Ellipticals and treadmills are available for you to use. It was enough for a good workout. The Homewood was a good hotel for me. Both my wife and I liked it. Honestly, compared to the recent reviews our experience was in opposition to others regarding the attitude of the staff. We found the staff friendly, respectful and courteous. Although there is construction in process and there was a very large event taking place we were welcomed and treated well. I had no complaints until after we came back from dinner and I took a shower to discover some issues. The plastic shower head was missing the rubber on the on/off buttons. For the price of the room you would think they could replace/repair this. Then there was the black mold on the walls in the bathroom, which was a bit concerning as well.
