Ours tour was chock-a-block full of personal stories from our husband and wife Captain and tour guide duo extraordinaire. Our eye candy consisted of a sting ray enjoying a clam breakfast, flopping around in the shallow waters like a happy kid in the candy shop. It was topped by a crane slurping down an eel then a bald eagle. We spied a few more ponies then made our way around the other side of the island for a full grand tour. Captain Shane brought us to the dolphins and they put on a show. There were dolphins everywhere and it was a sight to see. We wanted to extend our tour as we had only booked a one hour tour and Captain Shane was able to get us booked for another hour in order to see the wild ponies. We not only saw wild ponies, but a bald eagle as well and so many pelicans. Captain Shane took us around the whole island and was just an overall great tour guide. 100% book this tour!

Easy to book online, park right by dock at marina, very simple process. The captain notably had good communication with several other tour boats on the bay to help locate wildlife of interest. We were able to see the horses, many dolphins, and some interesting birds including eagles and a white pelican. Seems fairly flexible if there was something else you wanted to see. It's a nice trip with the kids as well. I would recommend for sure if you're looking for a straightforward run around the bay to see the above mentioned things.

I was nervous as it has been 25 years since I have been on a kayak and I have a bum knee. We opted for a tandem kayak and I am glad. Brody knew all about the marsh and really enjoyed sharing his knowledge. Not only did we see ponies, we saw a variety of other wildlife like various birds and turtles. This was a 2 hour experience and we traveled about 3 miles into the marsh. We were the only ones on the tour and to their credit, they did not cancel it. But, like Brody said, it is not a job!

They wanted us to pay $95 to park at a little gravel road and also wanted to charge us $75 per kayak to put our OWN kayaks in at a PUBLIC boat ramp. They use fear and intimidation to try to get you to pay it, claiming the water is dangerous. It is not at all. Then on swim day, they were using the public boat launch for their own customers when they should have their own. We also witnessed the tour guide leave a member of the group back at the ramp while she sat there sobbing because she had no clue what to do and wasn't even holding the paddles correctly. Other people helped her out and they told the tour guide but he said she could just go on the next group. But what if she had friends in that group? Absolutely horrendous way to treat your customers when they pay $250 per kayak. We also witnessed a tour guide trying to cross the channel on Friday and the coast guard yelled at him multiple times to get back. He stated he 'knew someone over there' but they continued to yell at him and he finally got back. These people only care about the money, not their customers and clearly do not know what they're doing. Do not recommend. You can easily park at East Side public boat launch ramp with a $20 launch permit from the town hall. Don't be intimidated by these people.

I plan a spring and fall trip, and always stay at Sun Outdoors. My favorite rv sites are near the beach access and the tiki bar. Their specialty is crushes, fresh squeezed fruit beverages and some evenings there is a live band and a roaring beach campfire. Ahhh, the good life!

He showed my sister and I ponies, a bald eagle, egrets (and we learned the differences between three types of egrets), and an eagle's nest. We also learned about duck blinds, clams, oysters, smugglers, and native American history. He had a wealth of knowledge about the area and answered every question we asked. I have taken a number of Chincoteague boat tours in the past, and this was by far the absolute best tour!
