The primary pick-up sites are at the Walmart in Bonsack, or the Quality inn in Lynchburg, but other options are available if the demand is great enough on a particular tour. Abbott's $99 New York red-eye trips are my personal addiction. You leave Roanoke or destinations en route in the middle of the night and arrive in New York City Saturday morning to spend the day doing whatever you want. The return trip happens during the night as well, so you're back home by Sunday morning and ready for work on Monday. I've been on a dozen of these and it never really gets old. Service is old-fashioned and prompt, the way it should be. There is never a shortage of snacks or friendly tour guides on the buses, and often, there are movies shown and games played on the bus to pass the time. Some tours are self-guided while others are hosted. I can't say enough good things about Abbott Trailways. I've been a loyal customer for years, with no plans to stop anytime soon.

It doesn't feel like a commercial RV park--the camping sites aren't stacked on top of each other but rather reasonable spaced. And if you have kids, or adults that are young at heart, there is a great swimming pool and "swimming pond". the General Store is amazing and well stocked. And the milkshakes and biscuits and gravy knock your socks off. Over the top facility and very friendly staff. Great stay, if you're in the Roanoke area and looking for a great place to tent or RV camp don't miss this place!!
