Man, what can I say about this team? They're absolutely awesome. Maurice? On point. I come here ALL the time. Why all the time? Because my car gets hit all the time and when it's in the shop, I'm here. They remember me, they know my preference (hate Nissans), and it's just awesome talking to them. Rented a minivan for our trip through Costco & Enterprise. Process was easy online. Once the day came to pick up the rental, all I had to do was walk in, pull up my reservation, and bam, drove away with the van. If I can say only one thing, it would be to GET THE OPTIONAL DAMAGE WAIVER. for $19/day for me, it acts as insurance. Sure, you may be the safest driver in the world, but there are much too many variables in the world to ensure your safety. We got into an accident during the trip, and that stressed me out throughout the duration. But once it was time to return the rental, Andrew ensured me that everything would be okay, and the report process was easy as pie. This use to be my go to place to rent cars. The staff was really helpful and nice (Jessica, Mo, David, Jonathan, Ryan, etc...)Been renting cars here for over 10 years and have seen several managers come and go. Most of them have been really nice people. That all ended when they brought in the new manager JOSIE!! Josie is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I came to rent a car because I was involved in a accident. My insurance was not going to cover the rental so I had to pay out of pocket. Typically I can get a car from here at the shop rate of $25-$30 day and for a full size sedan. When I arrived to pick up my reservation I was given a Toyota Corolla for $60day. I asked why was this so high and the response from Josie was "Thats what it goes for" I explained to her that I've been renting here for years and usually I don't pay that much for this type of vehcile. I even said I could find a better deal online. She didn't care and basically said oh well it is what it is. So I went online booked the same vehcile for $12day from enterprise. I even opted to pay a little more to get a full size sedan which ended up being $150 for the week. Again she was trying to charge me $60 PER DAY FOR COROLLA. Smh unfortunately I will no longer keep a relationship with this particular branch. I guess I will go online like everyone else. One day when the get rid of the staff completely and everything is automated she will wonder how this happened. Josie please reference this review and this is how it happened. Charter Oaks only rents trucks, not cars, even though their website allows you to rent a car from the Charter Oaks location. So after calling them to confirm they're open (and getting routed to the 'local office' which apparently was not Charter Oaks) and walking 10 minutes from the car repair shop, I'm told I need to go to Mission st because they don't actually have cars. Just another reminder why I rarely rent from Enterprise. It amazes me that Alamo and these guys are the same company. Almost always good experiences with Alamo, almost always some problem with Enterprise. I understand Covid has upended things. That's no excuse for allowing people to rent cars from locations that don't have cars. It's a big company, not a mom/pop, 3 cars and a scooter rental company. Update your f'ing website. read more

This office profiteered off the coronavirus closure - charging us $578.54 in late fees for a car we couldn't return due to their office closure. I've had two bad experiences with this Enterprise office. We rent from this shop because it's close to our house and mechanic, so it's convenient during car maintenance. When it was time to return our last rental, it was closed due to the covid-19 outbreak and stay at home ordinance. I emailed them and they replied (unempathetically) telling us to return the car to the Enterprise in the Tenderloin, SFO or Burlingame (very far from us). So what, go to the dirty airport, the dirty Tenderloin or all the way to Burlingame? Then what, take an Uber back? In the middle of a Pandemic? In the middle of a stay at home ordinance? During this closure, this office charged us $578.54 in late fees for a car that we couldn't use, couldn't return (without getting the plague), and had to physically re park all the time SF to avoid parking tickets. The other time, they charged my wife 3x market rate for a beater Jeep Compass. I have an Enterprise rewards account. So do my employees. Enterprise is a good company. My batting average at this location is 2 terrible experiences and one that was, meh (you know, a standard car rental experience). p.s. I returned the car to the tenderloin location and rode my bike for an hour to get home to avoid putting the entire family in the other car to do the errand, since we can't get a babysitter, and we're in the middle of the worst pandemic of our generation. The streets of the TL were packed and i couldn't avoid social distancing on 4 or 5 unique occasions, including returning in the office that had 5 people in the same line configuration, right next to each other, and an employee who wanted to shake my hand. Okay, didn't think that I would be writing such a positive review of a rental car site, but they really deserve it. I needed a rental car after my own car was stolen and totaled, and USAA contracts with Enterprise to provide cars. From my first phone contact with them (yes, they actually answer the phone at this site), they were nothing but helpful and found a way to meet my needs around timing. They were even able to offer me an upgraded car. When I needed to extend my rental, they made that work too, and helped me to get the best possible rate. The site is quite busy, but the team there does a nice job of greeting each new person and making sure you know they haven't forgotten you if you have to wait a few minutes. I want to particularly single out Bernadette who was unfailingly friendly and helpful. She remembered me when I came back to renew my rental, and she took a little time to chat and help me think through my options for my new car. All in all, a great experience and I will definitely use them again for any rental needs. read more

Our experience at Enterprise Rent-A-Car went very smoothly during out trip to San Francisco. We needed to rent a car to be picked up and return in the same spot for about 4 days. We called the day before we reserve a vehicle and although that was a risky move, they were able to accommodate us and even bump us to an upgrade. A great perk about Enterprise is that they will come pick you up wherever you are and drive you to Enterprise for no additional cost. That was huge for us after spending tons and tons of money on Ubers all week. We needed a vehicle for around 10am and the guy showed up at our Airbnb to pick us up right on time. The car was pretty much ready for us when we got there and the entire process went smoothly. The car was clean, spacious and reliable. We were given a Nissan Murano and it had plenty of room in the trunk for all of our luggage, which was a huge plus. I'd highly recommend this Car Rental company. read more

AVOID!!!! This place is a shit hole, staffed by indifferent idiots. Be prepared to waste at least an hour, even if you are the only customers there. I convinced my parents, who are visiting from out of town, to rent a car from Enterprise so they can go to Mendocino for a couple of days. This is our morning: 10.30AM. We arrive at Enterprise. We see that at least six or eight cars are available. We walk into the office and notice we are the only customers there. We were told our car was not washed and would be ready in 10 minutes. We wait. 10.45AM. We go back in office (visit #2) and are told that someone would be right out. We wait some more. 10.50AM. We go back in office (visit #3). We are told that car was not "supposed" to be ready until 11AM (major attitude, like we need to chill out). Waiting... 11.00 AM - Man FINALLY comes out to process paperwork. 11.05AM - We start up car. It is on empty. We go back to office (visit #4). Manger tells us staff person will follow us to gas station to fill up. Apologizes. 11.25AM Arrive at gas station. Enterprise staff person pumps gas in car. Send us on our way. 11.30AM Notice that he only put a couple of gallons in the tank. Have to find another gas station. Are you f-ing kidding me? Have these clowns ever rented a car before?? Its not like they were busy. We were the only customers! This was the worst Enterprise. We were once loyal customers but this experience turned us off forever. read more

First off. I wanted to say the employees and branch manager are hard working guys. They do the check-ins, fetch the cars and even wash it (I saw the manager washing a car). I saw 3-4 persons working there and a line of customers from several dealers and insurance companies trying to get their rentals in this location. The problem is they are so understaffed that nobody answers the phone calls. I was supposed to have someone pick me up. But it never happened because I couldn't confirm it as none answered the phone. It took me over ONE HOUR to get the rental car. I blame senior management for neglecting this location. I travel quite often for work by every type of transportation you can imagine. Just moved to the Bay Area part time about 1 year ago for work until the time being. I needed a place where I could rent a car hassle free and have a great relationship because of how often I travel. Until, I found this team here at the Charter Oak branch. Their customer service is above and beyond. The team knows me by name and makes it a point to say hello to me even if they are with a customer (although politely excuses their conversations to give salutations). Hardworking. Energetic. It's been nearly a year since anyone has reviewed this place and while I hate to use cheesy driving platitudes, this place is currently running on all cylinders. For us Mission folk, this is actually one of the closest places to get a car at a decent price. It's about a 45 minute walk or they'll come pick you up (for free!) if you're north of 16th Street. Don't let the janky industrial park location fool you, this place is great. I made a reservation 24 hours in advance and showed up to get my car. The employee working (I believe his name was Dona) was ridiculously efficient in getting me the car. Simple hand-over of license and CC, quick inspection, checked the gas, boom. I'd say outside of a very short wait because he was on a business call, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. He also informed me that Enterprise could give me a ride back free of charge after I returned the car. The Nissan Versa was very clean and ran like a charm. I returned the car on-time and waited exactly one minute due to another customer, the person at the desk was affable and quick with the checkout. He too reminded me of the complimentary ride back to my residence and I waited only five minutes for the car to arrive. Granted it wasn't a limo, but getting a quick ride back from a friendly and safe driver was a huge plus. I'm sorry to any haters, Enterprise provided me with one of the quickest, painless and most hassle-free car rental experiences I've ever had. Hell, I got a free ride back to my house! This location is not super convenient to most areas of San Francisco, but it was much cheaper to rent a car from compared with the locations downtown. When we realized this location would send someone to pick us up from our hotel to retrieve the car, planning was much easier. Or so we thought. Despite making an appointment to be picked up on a Saturday morning, we had to call several times to make sure someone was on the way as the clock ticked closer and closer to noon (when this Enterprise location closes). It's a good thing we did call, because it turned out that our pick-up info had been lost, along with our contact info, so no one there knew how to get in touch with us. Perhaps it might be time to update your policies and general organization, Enterprise. The car we received wasn't very old but it looked pretty beat up on the inside. Stained chairs and surfaces that weren't super clean were predominant. Upon checking the car back in, a manager gave us a business card with a hand-written upgrade for next time. We had reserved multiple 24' trucks from this location many months in advance, and were just informed that they would be cancelling our reservation 5 weeks before we were to pick up the trucks because they had a commercial order that they prioritized. They did not provide any compensation for the late cancellation, nor any resources to even reserve with another enterprise. Abysmal customer service in this case, with barely even an apology. Enterprise is my favorite rental car company. I usually go with the cheapest however on Hotwire which usually ends up with me heading to SFO to wait HOURS at Hertz. No joke - the woman last time at Hertz defended the ridiculous wait by saying but we're #1 in the world. I vowed to never again. I am an Enterprise VIP from a previous job as I rented a ton of cars from the company. All of the companies employees are educated and aim to please. You can tell by their great customer service. This location is a bit out of the way so I got a great price renting from them to go home for Thanksgiving. I cracked some ribs on a fall the night before I was supposed to bring the car back. Barely made it to the shop. The super awesome driver who knew his herbal medicines took me = to three Mission shops to try and find this magic mud to take away my pain. Alas, it was no where to found but I so appreciated the gesture. read more

After being rear ended by a drunk driver without insurance my car was at the body shop for a week so I rented a car though these guys. They were nice enough to pick me up at the bodyshop and we go back to their nearby facility. The rental process took maybe 10 minutes and I was told I got their last available car My car was a brand new Hyundai with only 3000 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately the inside was pretty dirty with spots of spilled drinks on the center console and some crumpled papers on the back seat. it's like they didn't clean the car after it was returned by the previous renter. Normally I would have requested a different car but it was their last one, and I didn't really have time to complain. Returning the car was pretty easy but the final price was $60 higher than what I was quoted online. I've rented from this Enterprise location many times and largely had a *fine* experience here. Sometimes they're understaffed and you have to wait a long time, but they're not terrible. However, that really changed today.. I currently have a rental while my car is in the shop and because I had someone break a window of the rental last night, I was told to bring the car in to swap it for one with a functioning window. When I spoke to them on the phone, they told me they'd have a car by 4pm for me. I asked "should I call back later to confirm you have a car before my wife comes to pickup?", the rep, after confirming with his coworker assured me "nope, we'll have a car for you". Once my wife went to pickup the car, there wasn't one, and they lied to her about the nature of this conversation; they insisted that they claimed they would call me later to confirm, that they specifically said they couldn't guarantee me a car. The rep insisted that he "witnessed" his co-worker making this claim to me, but it is the exact opposite of the conversation we had. I really can't believe that my honesty/intelligence was called into question by these workers, that they insisted to my wife that I was to blame for their error, and I certainly won't be going back. read more

I rent from Enterprise at this location (and the 1600 Mission St location sometimes) almost weekly for work and have been thoroughly impressed with the outstanding customer service I receive each and every time. Typically a very speedy trip to pick up or drop off, and if there is ever a wait, it is obvious that the employees are working very hard to make it go as quickly and seamlessly as possible. Everyone is so nice, and they truly try to accommodate you. I previously rented with Hertz, and the service is not even comparable. Before coming into the office to return a car rental, I called the office requesting for a ride home. I spoke with Mishan, who asked me what time I would be bringing the car in. I told him around noon and he said that time would work for a ride home. So I arrive at the office at noon and drop off the car, everything goes smoothly until I ask about the ride home. Mishan informs me that no one can take me home at the moment...even though he specifically told me over the phone that they would be able to at noon. I ended up having to walk home. A 47min walk with a 243ft elevation. The unprofessional and dishonesty portrayed by this office is unacceptable. If they could not take me home they should have told me so and I would have planned accordingly. Disappointing experience, I highly do not recommend. read more
