Started iff a bit iffy I asked for a pick up at my hotel and the staff member who agreed to do. It didn't call until half an hour before I was due to pick up the car. I already called Lyft to get there in time. After that everything was nearly perfect Staff was friendly and helpful when I arrived. I was given a choice of two cars in my category. One had clearly been smoked in so I chose the other, which was absolutely clean with no smell. Staff member was thorough, including asking if I wanted help with anything. At my request, she went over the cruise control. I was 45 minutes late for my drop-off but that was no trouble with them. The intern drove me to the train station. He was pleasant and a safe driver. I will definitely book a rental car with them when I traveled to the area by train or a plane in the future and need a car. read more

Foolishly I returned to Enterprise Rental on State Street in Schenectady. I had forgotten about my last bad experience here about a year earlier. On that occasion I had to wait for over a hour to get a car. Once again, the place is packed. There's one man running around - doing the paperwork and apparently cleaning cars (or at least that's what he's saying). Meanwhile there's another employee who is just calling people confirming their reservations for the end of the week. I am speechless that this woman continues to call people when there are at least 5 people in line behind me and several ahead of me. In between calls this employee plays on her phone and rolls around on her chair. Hopefully this bad experience is enough for me to remember NOT to come back here! read more

my resent rental from Enterprise in Schenectady, NY location excellent. The staff was so attentive that they all seamed to vie for my attention, not only when i arrived but too when i dropped off. the vehicle selection was perfect, as i travel with golf club and a family of 4. This is and annual trip for us and forthcoming i will continue to use this lactation instead of the airport. if there was a negative, the vehicle could have been a little cleaner, not the it was dirty, just used which i feel is understandable with today's workload post covid and all. i do recommend Enterprise especially at this location read more

horrible service. we came from Cali and rented the car through Priceline, the blonde overweight lady in the front counter was very rude and seemed like she wanted us gone. the next day I called about returning the car early so we don't miss our flight, I had asked if there was a way we can return it before business hours. She would sigh out of annoyance when I would ask questions such as if there is a way to drop off the car before business hours so I don't miss my flight back home. she was very unpleasant the whole call. then the day I dropped it off, there was a man seated in one of the other desks, he basically ignored me as I came in, finally asked if I needed something, I said I have to drop off the rental, and he said okay and continued to just ignore me and go back to whatever he was doing, as I stood there confused as to where to return the keys. then I said, "So... do I just leave the keys on the desk?" this was my first time renting a car and will be my last from Hertz. read more

I had gotten into a car accident (A 45 year old woman who happened to be a Board Member for NYS Education was texting and driving...ironic huh?) and needed a Rental Car for about three weeks while repairs were being done. I was picked up at the Garage where my Car was being worked on promptly by a woman about my age and driven to Enterprise. I walked in and was greeted by a man (about my age...again) and was asked to be seated. They were helping a family and there was one other woman ahead of me. Finally, I was able to go ahead and rent a car from them which only took about 10 minutes and as relatively easy. They upgraded me to a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, awesome! I didn't have any problems with the car and it handled like a gem. However, when it was finally time to return my speed demon, I ran into a couple of snafu's. What they DIDN'T tell me upon signing the forms when I had first been there, they had me sign for the extra insurance through Enterprise, which I didn't need. Instead of the Sales Associate telling me that through my Policy with State Farm, I was already covered for Insurance on a Rental and didn't need to opt in for the additional, which was about $10/day. As it turns out, the woman waiting in line behind me had the SAME issue. We caught them red-handed. Enterprise is supposed to explain that upon rental of any car and that was conveniently left out. After making a huge stink, they dropped the charges for the added insurance for both of us and apologized. They do a good job, but can be a bit shady in their explanations of service, or lack of. read more

Im really sorry to write this - I rarely write reviews. I wrote this so maybe this will not happen to anyone else. About 2 weeks ago, I rented for pickup at local airport FBO. When we got the car, inside was stained and filthy. We figured with Covid and all, these things happen. We started to drive the car off of the tarmac and found that a tire was almost flat. We called the office. They suggested that we fill the tire and " see what happens". We convinced them to give us another car provided we got the car to them (!). We got another car and went on our way. We returned the car as instructed within 24 hours. Later I found I was actually charged for two days! I tried to to contact via phone tree and gave up. I chalked the matter up to karma and let the charge ride... Today via snail mail I got a letter saying I owe ANOTHER DAY!? It looks like they now have charged me a day for the car I returned with the nearly flat tire... I have now paid and sent a letter... I cannot recommend this enterprise location and maybe not enterprise itself. Too bad- Enterprise used to be the best and was reportedly a good company for new college grads to work for read more

They rent vehicles that they don't have and leave you waiting for hours. Reserved a vehicle at 11am this morning. Got here at 430pm, it is now after 6pm and I am still here. They sent someone to get cars from the Albany Airport, and we were told at least another hour. Mind you, they closed at 530pm, a half hour ago! There is also 3 other people waiting for their cars as well. The guy working had the audacity to say, "Well we're staying open late to help you." Youre staying open late because you reserved cars that aren't here. read more

Every time I go there they are always helpful and get me into a car fast. Customer service is always at 100% and whenever I have a problem they always fix it. I would've gave them 5 stars but their inventory isn't great and if they don't have what I want, I can simple drive to Central Ave. office and pick up a better looking car at no extra cost read more

I'm really happy with these guys. I would give them 5 stars but one guy there sold me insurance that I didn't need. My rental was due to a car accident and Allstate gives me a free rental. After a few days of paying for this extra insurance I spoke to someone at Allstate and they told me it was not necessary so I cancelled it. Otherwise they are sooooo nice. A fast and courteous service. Would highly recommend them. read more

Went to enterprise on State Street in Schenectady, so they took a 50.00 deposit which they tell you when you return the car it's refunded to you. Well that's a lie. Then drop the rental off over 3 weeks ago and they tell me just leave the keys inside the collision shop and your all set. Now 3 weeks go into my bank account to see that I have been charged a huge amount of money. Talk the man on the phone and ask why three weeks later I'm being charged he has no answer and says it's not right. Speak to a manager who advises me I'm not getting my deposit back and that I owe them the extra money and the reason they didn't do it when I dropped the car off was because they were short staffed. Again not my problem. Will never use them again. Awful service. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I work in a restaurant. I understand that everyone has their own unique experience, and I always give businesses a second chance to right their wrongs. The Enterprise location on State Street in Schenectady has at least one possible scammer and at the very least incompetent employee on the premises. They didn't refund me my $50 deductible until I called and reminded them three times, each two days apart, each with the same person telling me the refund had been issued- it never had. Weeks after returning the rental car in pristine condition (I used it for two days), I was charged over $200 in fees. I only realized this when my auto-pay on a bill was declined. Upon calling them, they told me that it was for the car because the insurance company never got back to them, plus insurance "the renter" (me) chose to put on the car. Plot twist...I signed my signature 6 different times declining the insurance, and the insurance company that supposedly never got back to Enterprise had my representative call me...there was never any correspondence from Enterprise. The only reason I'm leaving a review with any stars at all is because of Quincy, who was the only person there that was actually actively helpful, understanding, apologetic and extremely professional. Besides him, this place sucks. Avoid it unless you like a challenge getting back your money that you didn't authorize them to take in the first place. read more

I have used this location 2 times. The first time the car I received smelled heavily of marijuana and had to ask for another car, this time they were supposed to pick me up and after waiting 40 minutes for the pick up, I called and they said there was a miscommunication and there was no car sent. read more

When my car was rear-ended, and had to leave it at the body shop for an estimate, they Picked Me Up! Gave me the direct bill rate for my insurance company on a nice little Nissan Versa. I was allowed to modify the rental period with no issues. When I had purchased my new car, I brought the rental back to Enterprise and they Dropped Me Off at the car dealer. Also provided hard copy of rental receipt and emailed additional copy to me so I could get reimbursed from my insurance. Only bad part about the whole issue was my poor car got totaled. I have used this Enterprise location before and will continue to use them for all my local car rental needs. read more

For me, this Enterprise location is a slam dunk 5 star operation. Professional, enthusiastic, and efficient. Including the agents at the desk and the drivers who bring me to and from the office. I consider this a very well run business. I could not ask for more. I've rented from them numerous times over the past six months or so. Most of those occasions were last minute decisions on my end. Likewise, some spur of the moment rental extensions. They always accommodate me. Every transaction has been smooth. The vehicles have been fine. No complaints there, either. My contrasting point of reference is another Capital Region Enterprise location I used in 2010. There, the agent was unpleasant, the cars were unsatisfactory, and the entire experience was a hassle from start to finish. Twice. That's a whole other story, but set my expectations. The crew at 1485 State Street are light years better than those dismal episodes. I knew it from the friendly reception the instant I walked through the door. You can consider me a completely satisfied customer, expectations exceeded. It's a pleasure doing business there. I'll continue to do so, and recommend them to others. read more

I was a frequent renter from Enterprise to take my Daughter back and forth to college. For the most part the people were very accommodating. But I always had an issue. The car was not ready, the wipers, were broke, the car was dirty, etc. there was never a time the manager would not make good on these problems. But this one has got me. I need to rent a minivan to move my daughter to school. I only need it for one day. It is about 500 miles back and forth. I am told I now have to rent the van for 2 or more days or I can't rent it over the weekend. That is way too much money. The cost of the van plus mileage. I am being taken advantage of, but what choice do I have if I need this van. I feel sick to my stomach right now with the person from enterprise who came up with this rule. When I asked if there was anything they can do to help me and not loose my business he said no. So I told him I will have to look for a van elsewhere. The answer was "ok" very sad they would like to loose a day rental because they want to be greedy. read more

Rental was provided by insurance Co, Enterprise would not pick us up. However checking the car out was a reasonably pleasant process, the single employee was courteous. The turn in process left a lot to be desired. Due to forecast poor weather, my wife arranged to turn the car at 11:00. The Manager had her wait 35 minutes before he arranged for her to be driven back to our house. He had five employees in the office & one cleaning cars. Eventually the employee who was cleaning the cars was assigned to drive her home, and another employee who was to pick up a car at an auto body shop. The manager seemed to be annoyed that he had to drop off my wife at our house first, which was on the way to the body shop, it was not a pleasant experience for her. read more
