Rented a Jeep grand Wagoneer on April 25 of 2026 on my way back from South Carolina. A rock hit the windshield and it was cracked. I immediately reported it to my insurance company when I came back to Shelton. I told Brian it was one of the service attendance there. He checked all around the car and said you're all set to go. Will call in your insurance company. Just replaced the windshield. Two months later I got a bill from enterprise for $3200. The windshield loan was only $683. They said I damaged the instrument cluster which I did not and Brian had already checked everything okayed the car when I brought it back in. I'm going there tomorrow to confront him with the situation. I've rented there before and never had a problem they constantly remove people there so you're dealing with new people all the time. called my insurance company and the insurance adjuster said they never submitted a bill payment. I returned a car & they couldn't find it. Kept hounding me like I still had it. But did not!

I used Enterprise to rent a car for two days while my car was being repaired. Overall I was very pleased with the experience. My car dealer set up the rental, but Enterprise called me a few days before pick-up to confirm the details and my insurance coverage. They picked me up quickly at the dealer and brought me to their store. The staff was all very friendly throughout. They only had one car that was inexpensive enough to be within my rental car insurance coverage, and I didn't like it (very poor visibility), so I upgraded to the next size up and paid a little out of pocket. I do with they had had more than one car available - they even said up front I probably wasn't going to like it so it did feel like a bit of a bait and switch to get me to upgrade. But, it was only a few dollars so I didn't really mind. The car I ended up getting was a Nissan Altima which was very comfortable. It had a push-button start which felt very modern to me. When I returned the car there were no problems. They directly billed my insurance and my credit card was only charged to the amount over the coverage and the gas. The only negative was the very limited selection and somewhat high price which caused me to have to pay a bit out of pocket. However the staff and service were excellent. My husband and I have rented cars from Enterprise here in Shelton, and have had very positive experiences! Never had a problem, my expectations were exceedingly met! They are efficient, kind, helpful and quick to get you a car! Their weekend rates are fantastic!!! read more

Although the 3 different employees I met were very friendly and helpful, the results were horrible. My insurance company sent me here to pick up a car and at first everything went well - until my wife and I were hit with $1100 in charges even though my insurance was supposed to pay. My insurance let us know that Enterprise was NOT supposed to charge us and we would be getting the $1100 back. So we returned the car. Few days later and they called us back to pick up another car, this time *supposedly* on the insurance companies dime, but when I returned, they suddenly wouldn't take the credit card that they JUST accepted and happily withdrew $1100 from 5 days earlier. So, in 1 weeks time, our credit card went from " acceptable enough to take $1100 from," to " i'm sorry we don't take this card." We called our lawyer and insurance and were promised a refund... Why is it that I am given a vehicle one day, I return it, and days later I'm not allowed to rent, even with the same person and EXACT card info that went thru the first time? It's like one day, they deem me worthy enough to give a car, the next day, its a different story... AFTER taking and not returning $1100 from a family of 4 that was just in a car wreck... read more

We rented a vehicle from Enterprise in Shelton on Bpt Ave on 07/07/216. Everything went ok, but I misunderstood why I was being charged an additional fee. When I called back later to get clarity, I spoke to Brett who answered the phone call. Brett laughed under his breath and responded with "I'm not sure what you didn't understand, it was very clear, but ok." As a customer, that is not something that should be said regardless of whether you felt someone explained this thoroughly or not. He was not even the person whom I spoke with when I picked the vehicle up. Either way, I asked for clarity, not a "smart" remark from an employee. Sleazy experience of bait and switch. Manager is overly friendly so that he can take advantage of you. We were forced into paying more for a car we didn't want. He lied and said the car we wanted was out and pushed us into an upgrade. They don't keep a lot of cars there. Shame on me for allowing it but we needed the car. I will never do business with them again. I'm tired of paying money as a customer only to be taken advantage of by companies who don't appreciate your patronage. Due to some repairs on my personal vehicle, I had to rent from this Enterprise. Service was decent. I was offered a free upgrade to a midsize car, which would have put me over my daily allowance from my insurance, if it was not free. After returning the car after my repairs were complete, I saw this office had charged my credit card. I thought this was a simple mistake, so I called and requested that I be creditted the amount. I waited 2-3 weeks, but the amount was still not creditted. I called Enterprise Corporate customer service. However, since the offices operate almost independently the corporate customer service could only call and inform the office. After informing the office, I was told a manager would call me. I still have not received the call and as of yet, my credit card has not been creditted. The cars here are not that great either. I tried out 2 while using the rental service, and both had a very cheap feel. Most of the cars are American, which I'm told is standard across Enterprise. But these cars do not have most standard items you find in cars these days. The newer cars seemed like the basic setup of cars from the late 1990's. So overall, I am displeased. Be very careful how they bill you, especially if they verbally commit to offer a free upgrade, but do not include that in the paperwork. The cars are decent (you're not going to get luxury with rentals, but at least have some quality). read more

I was in the area for business training and had the pleasure of renting a car from this location five or six times over the course of several weeks. The service was always exemplary! The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make your life easier and the whole rental process more convenient (offering to pick me up and drop me off, asking me which car I wanted from those available, etc.). Overall a fantastic experience and I look forward to renting from them again. read more

The Enterprise in Shelton is terrible. I have always rented from Stratford but used Shelton out of convenience. Big mistake. They charged me additional fees and when I called to inquire about them they were not helpful at all. Conveniently they did not have a manager assigned to their branch. They did not rent a car to me because my address for my credit card does not match my drivers license. I am active duty military and move around a lot. I told them I was military and showed them my active duty Identification card. They did not care, and then they asked me for my military orders. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. This couldn't be more inconvenient. I'm visiting family during the holidays and this happens. Enterprise is definitely not a company I would recommend. I'm usually not one to write reviews but the way they treated me was just unacceptable. They need to train there staff about the military just a little bit and make an exception to policy for active duty service members. I hope they do not do this to another service member. Not to mention I'm just hoping that this policy is an actual policy and they are not treating me differently because I'm black. I'll like to hope that's not the case. read more
