Each vehicle I have rented from this location is in good condition. As with all Enterprise locations you return the car with the same amount of fuel as when you picked it up, which is not necessarily full. Would give 0 stars if I could. Secured a last minute rental before the holiday weekend after experiencing some car trouble and knowing my car wouldn't get looked at for a few days. This location was closest to me, and one of the only ones still open going into the holiday weekend. The employee who assisted me seemed nice enough, however he never disclosed to me that there was a $300 security deposit charged along with the rental rate. He verbally told me one price, then proceeded to charge my card that price PLUS $300. Once returning home and noticing the drastic difference in price, I immediately called the location back and the employee admitted that he "must have forgotten" to mention the security deposit. As it is a holiday weekend and the location will not be open again until Monday, I am basically stuck with the charge and any inconvenience it will have on my bank account. Will never rent from Enterprise again and strongly encourage others not to either. read more

Do I have to give it any star rating? It should be ZERO stars. They were contacted by my insurance co due to having an accident and needing transportation. They were the second area facility to be called ... BY ME as no one ever made the effort to reach out to me to secure a rental. The location said "maybe" they'll have a car late Mon (2:30-3pm) right near the end of day. This left me in a hotel the entire weekend without any transportation. When I called Mon AM to confirm, "oh we have a car, come in anytime." When I got there later that morning, first they kept trying to upsell add-ons to contract. Nope. Car seats were DIRTY and the windshield was Beto d dirty with smoke residue and it's a NO SMOKING ALLOWED vehicle. I then had an issue with their roadside assistance service. They hung up three times. They failed to submit order request. Also told it would be 3-5hrs when in fact, once the order was put in, I get a text from local servicer that it would be TWO MINUTES. A formal complaint was put into Enterprise and through my insurance company. I was told it would be elevated to regional and to expect a callback once reviewed. Then I'm told "in order received". Apparently they must have all sorts of complaints piling high because if I were to understand this, it's been over two weeks with no response. How many complaints have come in prior to mine. Also though not from this location, dirty cars seem to be the norm. I once received a beyond dirty car that was later changed out. The car they gave me in exchange still had someone's SNOT RAG in the passenger side pocket of the door. IT NEVER HAD BEEN CLEANED. That regional waive a significant portion of the fees in that situation. He was never more embarrassed. EDIT: to clarify I see I've gotten the "standard" response to contact care@enterprise.com. Dear Lisa S, let me make it clear in case you didn't actually read the review. I did contact care. Over two damn weeks is too long to wait for a response care told me I would be getting. Also note, there are more 1 star reviews than 5 star reviews. Take that as a hint of bad service. 2nd edit/update. I had been informed that the insurance which was paying for the vehicle had contacted them over the issues reported. Talked to Mike with Enterprise who stated regional and branch management would be contacted. When I returned the car, the branch manager was on duty. My boyfriend and I needed to rent a car to travel to a wedding. I booked online and when we went to pickup the car the rep was very nice and personable. The car we were reserved the night before wasn't available so they gave us the next level up at no extra charge, that car only had a quarter tank of gas and wasn't vacuumed but the rep said we'd be able to bring it back empty. I believe it was the manager who called me afterwards to discuss my experience and after explaining how pleased I was with the rep, just wishing it was a bit more "ready" she discounted our total to make up for the inconvenience. I was scammed into paying daily for their rental insurance when I already have an existing insurance plan that covers rental cars. I explicitly told the agent it was my first ever accident and rental experience and wasn't really sure how it all worked. I was never asked about my policy once, and I was not given a full explanation about how there was even an option to decline. The agent only gave me two price options. I was met today with a $600 bill already charged to my credit card. I have already reached out to higher levels of management and am waiting for the results, or if anyone gets back to me at all. Steve took great care of us! Very personable guy- he recommended a few things we could do in new haven and the surrounding areas. We came from California to visit New Haven and the Yale campus so we needed a car for about 3 days. We had already made reservations online a few weeks in advance to make sure we had everything planned. Once we arrived at our hotel we called enterprise to see if they could pick us up from the hotel, which they did of course. After arriving at the rental place, we were informed that they did not have the vehicle we had requested, but they upgraded us for the same price we were going to pay- free upgrades are never a bad thing Anyway, we were in and out of the place within 10-15 mins. The place was a little bit out in the boonies, but it seems like Milford is a heavily industrial/trucking community, but you'll have your car to take anywhere around the area :) Good looking out Steve! I was scammed into paying for premium rental insurance at this location. I made a reservation online making sure rental insurance wasn't included. When I checked my credit card statement the next week, I had been charged for daily insurance that was as much as the original rental, so my total was double what I had been quoted in the online reservation. When I signed the rental agreement at the location, the agent put the rental agreement into the glove compartment and told me I could "forget about it"--which, foolishly, I did. Make sure you get the agent to agree not to charge you for insurance or other add-ons, and keep your rental agreement! I have rented from Enterprise at other locations and have had positive experiences. I will not be renting from this location again. EDIT: I did contact Enterprise with the claim number below, and it took several followups to get a response, but they eventually promised to refund the extra charges. read more

I was deceived that I was signing a waiver to forego extra coverage in the event of a collision when actually the fine print stated I was signing a waiver to not have my insurance cover any damage of collision. The girl DID NOT explain this and I was charged $19.99 per day. Their response was "Sorry, I'll be more explicit next time." Ive used Enterprise a few times over the years after my car was hit and needed to be repaired.I usually refuse the xtra coverage, but this time decided to pay $60 for it. What I didnt understand was that the $60 was for a 3 day rental, not the length of time I had the car, almost 3 weeks. So I was charged $20 per day, and was presented with a bill when I dropped the car off. I disputed it and was told I had received 2 calls over the 3 weeks and reminded of the charge. Not true and I have a voicemail to prove it. When i was leaving I was told they will look into it and see what can be done, but was never called to tell me the outcome, only a charge on my credit card for $379.81 that I just saw. Very dishonest. I clearly did not understand what I was signing, and was confused by the terminology on the contract. Be careful if you go there -Read and ask for clarification every line in the contract or you will suffer the same fate. Never again read more

2 stars because at first I was psyched that after getting rear ended we would be in a nice luxury 2017 Jeep Cherokee. After a scary situation it was nice to feel taken care of. Well that lasted about a minute. The car fuel light came on, was on my way to get gas literally and the car died - when I called enterprise roadside they told me I don't have roadside assistance on my coverage and it would be $65, when I said I was never told or offered roadside, that this was covered by the drivers insurance Nationwide should they be charged $65 to get help? I was told I could be charged the amount and then argue it with the 920 Boston Post Rd location, yeah no didn't accept that offer and I asked if enterprise roadside could call the store and ask them to verify waving the fee since It was never offered and he put me on hold, when he got back on the line I was asked my location so I assumed the fee was waived but I asked if he spoke to someone and he said he didn't get through to anyone at the location but he was setting up roadside and I would be charged so I told him I'd call myself and hung up and called the 920 Boston Post Road location and explained this all to Mike where he told me repeatedly that I was offered roadside assistance and chose to decline it (??) I repeated I was ONLY offered collision coverage in case I was in the accident for $19.95 a per day and that my own insurance coverage with deductible could be used if that happened so I waived that offer and was told nothing else by Assistant Manager Tara. Mike repeatedly said I must have not HEARD Tara the assistant manager correctly who he knows would have told me all the coverages that apply, again I explained she only brought up the collusion and nothing else, he repeated the same and then told me that it was my fault for not getting gas in time, and what do I expect him to do? I told him he was rude and out of line for implying that I'm lying about what I was told and he repeated he KNOWS that Tara explained all the coverages and it was my fault for not taking roadside assistance (nice customer service) I asked to speak to someone else and he transferred me to Tara, Tara then explained that she DID NOT, I repeat DID NOT offer me roadside assistance because with this "type" of rental it's not offered - (hey Mike guess I was telling the truth?) and that she will speak to Mike. I explained again the light came on within 10 minutes as I was on my way finding a station after getting off the highway and the car abruptly stopped and I was able to pull over and also this car has some sort of stop/start when you drive which I was never told about and her response was "that's what all new cars have, most people know that - you might used to a 4 cylinder car this is a 6 cylinder car and requires more fuel". (Forgive me that I still have a 2009 Honda CRV and don't know all the latest gadgets or number of cylinders of the new cars out there Tara). I explained my personal car doesn't die after the light comes on and I was again told it was my fault, that they won't wave any roadside assistance fee and what do I expect them to do and it's a new car and I should be more proactive. So yeah was I expecting better customer service? You betcha, I am with my mom as you can see in my posts RAVING about the car on Facebook and Instagram that Enterprise responded to after you gave me a fancy car after someone hit us and damaged my car but clearly that has to be removed. Oh and if anyone at the Milford location is worried that we are safe and sound, I'm on hold with my own insurance Geico using my personal roadside assistance but they've been trying to get in touch with someone from Enterprise Rent-A-Car to get approval to help me and can't find anyone to speak with, Enterprise Roadside Assistance gave the main number and the Geico rep can't find anyone to speak with. If I were on my own I'd walk and find a spot but my mom suffers from dementia and she's not in a space she knows and I'm on a main post road - the closest station is 22 minutes away walking per my WAZE app. So step up your game and get your customer service in better check. Update: Enterprise Rent-A-Car it took Geico 37 minutes to get an approval by the way. Just got it. Now while we wait I'm calling Jeep Cherokee to see if this stall/stop/gas is normal and if they might have any cases where a car dies within ten minutes of getting a low fuel light come on. They took the information and I'm calling your location in the morning to return the car, something I should have asked but clearly couldn't even think straight from the responses I received. I will in no way recommend Enterprise Car Rental company. I rented a car for 14 hours picked up in Milford CT on Nov 17th and dropped off at Bradley Intl. Airport in Hartford Ct on the 18th at 5:00am. They do an inspection for damage when you check out and check in which is great and I was told at both times car was fine. Week after rental, I get a phone call from area manager telling me, he is calling due to my dispute of damage to the hood. I told him he must have me confused with someone else as there was no damage, I was not aware of any damage and further more I was told car was good after car rental agent inspection. I was given my receipt and told to have a great day. So again he says, so you are disputing the damage? I said how can I dispute something that never was? He hung up and week later I receive a letter stating I am responsible for damages to the car. I called the damage control department in Kansas City to discuss the matter and explain exactly what I am saying in this review only to be told there was nothing that could be done and I was responsible!! How can I be responsible for damage they said occurred? I told them they should check their surveillance cameras when I brought the car back to see if agent brought so called damage to my attention? No response to that one. Be careful of this company people!! If there was damage don't you think there would be a form filled out stating the particular damage and given to me before I left? So now we need to take pictures of every inch of the car you rent from this company to protect yourself? Unreal!!! In 30 years of renting a car from National, Avis, Hertz not one issue. read more
