    They are really getting expensive. They don't give no discount for longer terms. It's only a daily rate multiplied.

    Customer service is good. They do not have a huge inventory to chose from. Things have definitely gotten better than before.

I left a voicemail in regards to this issue, however, my call was never returned. I have give time since the call, but three weeks of waiting has grown too much. I scheduled a reservation from The Sumter Hertz, with an 11am pick-up time. When my husband and I got to the location (10:45am), no one was at the location. It was locked. I called a number that was provided on a sign, however the representative told me I would need to wait an hour before a representative would be available. This was a major issue because we needed to catch a flight in Charlotte. Someone finally showed up at the location at 11:41am. The representative was very passive of my concerns of missing our expected flight. The car we received was disgusting to say the least. The steering wheel was sticky, the middle seat was wet - literally soaking wet. There was a fowl smell of smoke accompanied by a cleaning solution smell in attempt to cover up the stench. We were traveling with our two year old daughter. Having her sit in the car was very uncomfortable. There were stains all over the vehicle, from the seats to the doors to the windows. The tank also was not full. On the receipt I was given, it stated the gas tank was full. We had to fill up the tank before dropping it off at Charlotte so we would not be charged another fee. When we dropped off the vehicle, the representative who inspected the car was also shocked at its condition and smell. It is completely unacceptable that I used my Hertz Gold points for such a deplorable vehicle. Due the your representative's actions and lack there of, we were forced to speed to the airport and stress that we would miss our flight. I would appreciate a resolution to the stressful and unsanitary conditions my family and I were forced to handle during the holidays because of your Hertz location. As of 2/11/2015, I have still not received a response from Scott Browy, the Hertz Branch manager. He told me on 1/14/2015 that he would "get back to me." Courtney Iovanovich

    I have rented from Hertz many times and in different countries, and while I've always had a great…read moreexperience with them, this has been the exception. For starters, I arrived at the location at around 2:00pm and there was no one in the office. The door was locked and a sign was posted on the door stating they'd be back soon. Another man was sitting outside the office as well, though he eventually gave up and left. I waited about 30 minutes, during which time two other customers arrived, but they too left. Finally the lady showed up and I followed her inside, making a comment that she had a crowd of people waiting for her earlier. She didn't seem to care and stated that it seems no one shows up until she decides to leave the office. She processed my rental paperwork quickly and took me out to the car, which, to my surprise, was the car she had just been driving. Can you believe it? The windshield was covered in bug splatter, the wheels wells were covered in dirt, mud was splashed up onto the fenders and sides of the car, and the tank was not full (7/8 full). I mentioned to the lady that I was not accustomed to receiving my rental cars dirty and she replied with a story about how the manager doesn't want to pay $8 for each car to be washed in town. Simply unbelievable! When I got in the car to drive away I noticed a very odd smell. It was as if they were trying to cover up cigarette smoke with car freshener. While the car has served me well and everything was processed quickly (once she arrived to work), this business needs to make significant improvements. 1: educate staff on professional behavior (ie. being at work on time); 2: obtain a cleaning contract for the vehicles; 3: make sure vehicles are filled up with fuel. Also, I wonder if it's standard practice for Hertz associates to drive Hertz rental cars around town? It was shocking to see her drive up in my rental car after conducting what was most likely personal business.
