Queen size bed. Seems as if you have no choice in the bed size. Very small

I wish I could do no stars as it seems this place has been ballooned on the review experience of which is why I chose this spot. This was a horrible experience. Reservations were made two days in advanced and I informed the gentleman we would like a very nice room as we were staying for two days, have not been home home in over 20 plus years. (we're Army) He said no problem I can take care of that then began to explain the kind of room we will have but failed to inform it would be very OLD, some MOLD, queen size bed, very small bathroom with tub like shower, loud creaking pipes coming from next door when they use the showers that is frightening especially at 11 at night when you are sleep and have to investigate the nose for a few minutes, about three open plugs for your electronics two on the microwave, uninvited guest that snuck in when you bring your bags in as the rooms are built like motel rooms, gross! I don't know about everyone else but when I'm in a mini vacation from home I like to be comfortable and be in a bed just as big as I have at home. Not downsize the bed size. Felt like I was in a barracks bed all over again. Not happening!!! The room was very, very cold. We tried to turn the heat on, went to get something to eat, came back, still cold. Called the not so nice guy at the front Paul and he said there is no heat. NO HEAT, who does that? Then he says we can get another blanket. So we get another blanket. I was ready to pack up and leave that night as this is unacceptable. Especially coming from the Air Force side. They have guest living BAD. We checked out the next morning into a wonderful hotel that was more costly, with hot breakfast, no uninvited guest or loud pipes, no mold and plenty of plugins for our electronics. We just wanted people to be aware all these rooms they offer on base are not nice and are like cheap yucky motels with uncomfortable beds. Nice on the outside but the inside is a different story. The beds are ALL queen size of which I was not aware of and they should inform all guest upon reservation time and make sure they are still ok with it. I feel as if we were bamboozled into the room. What a bad surprise.

    Dirt

Now I understand all of the negative reviews. This room is DIRTY (bugs, smudges of something on walls & doors), old food like substance on carpet) just UNSANITARY (pubic hairs in the tub/shower, flies, toenail clippings). Thank goodness I travel with cleaning products, my own sheets & towels. Although I shouldn't have to clean a hotel room after traveling for over 14 hours even if it's only for one night. The worst I have ever been to and a waste of money. I will definitely not be coming back or making any recommendations. The staff should be ashamed & embarrassed about the cleanliness and conditions of these rooms.

Tucked inside this boutique hotel, it's a welcoming space for date nights, business dinners, or whenever you want to impress someone with a little Southern charm and city-style polish. The food is good, with great appetizers that set the tone for the meal. The pasta dishes arrive hot and satisfying, and there's a full bar to pair your plate with a handcrafted cocktail or a glass of wine. The vibe? Chic yet comfortable--a nice break from the grab-and-go options around town. Their lunch specials used to be a real treat--tasty, creative, and affordable. Unfortunately, those have been paused again, which takes away a bit of the accessibility that once made it a go-to spot for locals on a lunch break. To be fair, while the meals are enjoyable and the space is lovely, the restaurant still seems to be finding its rhythm, especially when it comes to service times and consistent hours. That said, when it's open and operating smoothly, you're in for a good experience. All in all, it's a solid choice for a nice evening out in Lake City, with plenty of potential to become something even greater. We'll keep coming back--hoping each time they're a little closer to finding their groove.

It's an adult community (no children or pets allowed), so it's usually pretty quiet. The staff is courteous and always a pleasure to talk to. They are very knowledgable of the local area, and are very willing to help you, should you ever need anything at all. The manager lives on-site, and is usually very easy to get in contact with. They offer room service once a week where they come in and clean, and change the towels and the linens. Each apartment has a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen/ living area. Apartments are fully furnished- two TVs (one in the living area and on in the bedroom), a full-size fridge/ freezer, a stove/ oven, and a microwave. Should you need plates, glassware, and silverware, the staff will provide some for you. There is a laundry room on site with two washers and two dryers that are coin operated. $1 per wash and $1 per dry. The coin-operated laundry is really my only complaint, because I never seem to have quarters on me. It isn't the fanciest of places, but it has exactly what you need- whether that be for a night, a few days, or like in my case, a few months. And for an affordable price too! I would definitely stay here again.

The Hyatt won by default due to the word roach being mentioned in a review for the other hotel I was eyeing. This location is located in downtown Sumter on Main street. It's a newer hotel built in 2018, the first of the Hyatt branded hotels built in the city of Sumter. You can tell they are trying to revitalize the area. There are a few niche stores and restaurants within walking distance. Other than that I wouldn't stray too far away from the hotel especially not a night. We checked in on a Thursday evening. The staff was professional and friendly. I assumed breakfast was included with the room since at Hyatt Place it usually is and the last time my husband stayed at this location it was included. The lady behind the counter communicated that as of the prior Monday they no longer included breakfast with your stay unless you purchased a room with it added on or they could add it for $8 per person. I declined the breakfast which is over at 9:30am. I would never make it to eat that early and frankly the room rate is over priced if it does not include breakfast but I digress. Parking is located on the side of the hotel in both a garage and in the parking lot with a guest pass. I saw police patrolling the area so I felt safe. There is a side entrance into the hotel accessible with a room key. The hotel was very clean and had a pleasant smell. I always wipe everything down when staying at a hotel first and found our room to be super clean. A refrigerator is in each room and a microwave is on each floor in front of the elevator. My only issue with my stay was the water pressure in the shower was low and the water was luke warm to coldish our entire stay. Overall we had a pleasant experience, I would most likely stay here again while in town.

Upon checking in and inquiring, I was told to use my hot spot on my phone for my internet needs. Issues arise....yes, but to not notify reservation customers in advance who are here to conduct business is a HUGE mistake. I stayed on the 3rd floor and unfortunately it sounded like there was a tap dancing recital happening above me. The term paper thin walls has been thrown around a lot. But that term is far too generous for this establishment, it was that bad. The blackout blinds are electronically operated. However my blinds were malfunctioning and had to be pressed individually over and over to lower the blinds fully instead of holding the button. It took 11 minutes to lower a single blind in the room. Water pressure is an opinion based item but the shower pressure was negligible at best. The staff was incredibly friendly and polite (+1 star) Very very disappointed in this establishment. With so many other establishments to choose from, I wouldn't be eager to return here.
