Reserved an AWD with Enterprise at 2 Bloor St E on Feb 26, 2026 to go up into snow country for some backwoods snowshoeing. Was worried about getting stuck in snow so paid extra for AWD. No car when we arrived at the appointed time. However they called us about 30 min later that a car was there and ready. Same model but didn't realize there was no AWD until we got stuck in the snow. Thankfully we had the foresight to bring a portable shovel and spent an hour but dug out. Explained the situation to the Branch Manager at 2 Bloor St E who was excellent to work with and gave us a discount. Will be really attentive next time to make sure we have the car we want! read more

Enterprise will leave you stranded if the truck you rented brakes down. 2026 ram 2500 wouldnt atart after week rental. After work on friday at 6pm 3hours of transfers they send you to a third party tow company who do nothing towards providing a car or lift to your home. 9pm having to rent another rental to drive another 2and half hours once i get it. I am so disappointed in Enterprise. Their communication was terrible. I received a text notification with a pickup time for 7pm? when the business closes at 6pm. I was to pick up the vehicle at 8am. The vehicle was not there and the associate was not sure when they would have the vehicle...... Still heard nothing at 10:30 am and called to follow up ( you would think They would call to communicate with me) and then i was told the car was going for a oil change. I needed a rental for a work trip. Called in advance and book. Was there at 8am on a Monday. Person that was helping me out was James. James was very efficient and had great knowledge on products. I was a very quick process and I was in and out within minutes. Was very happy with customer service and operations of this branch. I will be renting from here in the future. read more

I recently had a few incidents with this location in asking their employee to drive better in the shared parking lot. They don't use signal lights and don't watch for oncoming vehicles. Their manager harassed me at my work because they cannot accept blame for not using signal lights or watching out for others in the parking lot. This business as a whole cannot accept blame and feel they are above their neighbours and community. I then spoke to the area manager Steve who said it's inappropriate to tell their employees to use better driving practices in a shared parking lot. Steve then threatened to call my boss and further harass me at my place of employment. They are by far the most unpleasant and unprofessional business I've seen. They need to be better as an organization and take complaints without being obtuse and offensive. I would not use this business based on how they deal with complaints and nonchalant attitude towards being at fault. If something went wrong with a rental, you can bet they will put the blame back on the customer. There are far better rental companies who treat their neighbors and community far better. read more

I don't rent cars very often, so this review is, good or bad, a one off, but my dealings with this particular location have always been good. EDIT: Whoops, I lied, I've been here twice. Review starting over. Haha. Staff have always been fairly helpful. Car rental agency reviews are always really lopsided because its a necessity operation and the staff is always being rushed by customers, and experiences vary because of this. For me, all Enterprise locations I've ever dealt with have been good. I called to scout for prices and staff were helpful. They DID give two different price quotes both times I called, but they were close. The car was clean, and they have a good selection here, but I didn't see many large SUV's, so if you're looking to get a Suburban, the Front St location is probably better for that. Jeez, it's beginning to sound like I've been to a lot of their stores before. I just remembered I've also been to the one near Sinai. Maybe take my claims with a grain of salt. Haha. I always rent from this location when I need a car locally. I find the employees extremely friendly. I've been upgraded for free a few times. The cars are clean. And having the Esso station less than a block away to gas up is handy. There have been times in the year (especially during the summer) when their prices are higher than Budget but they have matched them for me when I've brought it to their attention. There is a box next to the door so you can leave your key rather than having to drop it off in person. read more

My reason for review is two-fold: 1) The employee negligently provided me with information that is inaccurate and refused to own up to what she said; a security camera is available for validation 2) The Strachan Toronto location negligently rented me a vehicle not suitable for Toronto winter driving conditions (e.g. no winter tires), putting lives at risk The employee since withdrew money on top of the pre-authorized deposit without my permission and I am currently disputing the charge. --- I picked up the rental vehicle in January 2020. The rental cost was covered by a large mechanic shop with multiple locations in Toronto. At the time of pick up, I asked whether the rental had accidental coverage, to which the women who was helping me said "yes you don't have to worry about it, (shop name) is covering it)". A security camera is readily available for validation. 2 weeks into the rental. Toronto had a snowstorm and the roads were extremely snowy and icy, and I was driving a rental (non-AWD) without winter tires. I was near Birchwood and Yorkmill when the rental slipped. I had a choice of rear ending a vehicle into traffic or hit a stop sign. I choose the stop sign. Fortunate for me, no one was hurt and a passerby and a resident in a corner house came out to help me dig the car out of the snow because the tires had 0 traction. I called the city to report the incident and waited for the stop sign to be repaired before driving away. I was glad no one was injured but angry that the Strachan Toronto location put my life at risk by not putting winter tires on the vehicle knowing how dangerous Toronto winter driving can be. I was glad that the damage to the car was minor (minor cosmetic damage to the front right bumper) and that I would be covered for the damage based on the information provided to me by the women who helped me at the time of pickup. Fast forward today, I returned the rental and was very surprised to be told by the same women who helped me in January that I am not covered for the damage and that I must pay out of pocket - completely different from what she told me back in January. There would be no reason why I would refuse coverage when the shop is paying for the rental while my car was being repaired. Further, she threatened that if I don't pay the damage deposit right away, she would leave my rental account open and charge me for each day that I don't pay...... She's since withdrew $500 from my credit card ($200 from the rental deposit, and $300 extra without my permission). I am in the process of disputing the charge and will bring it to the highest level possible at Enterprise until a fair resolution is proposed. I plan to also take other actions on this location's lack of care for customer safety by renting out ill-equip vehicles for dangerous winter driving conditions. My advice for anyone renting from the Strachan location: 1) Check that the vehicle is suitable for winter driving conditions 2) Carefully read the rental read more

They use an obsolete system of charging rental fees, insurance AND keeping a deposit from your account. The reason seems to change depending on who you ask. $200 doesn't cover replacement as they claim and that SHOULD be in the insurance. If they took the information from a credit card without charging it might make sense. Holding your money ransom seems silly especially when the rental is assured and paid in full by insurance claim. It just doesn't make sense. They are basically assuming you will steal or damage the car and give you back your money when you're proven innocent. I just don't understand the rental fee PLUS insurance PLUS deposit. read more

I rented a car here twice in the past week for the first time and I was very impressed with their customer service and general operations. For both rentals I dealt with Patrick, the general manager there, and he was friendly, courteous and made sure that you were well taken care of. He even greeted me by name when I arrived as he seems to be completely on top of all the reservations for the day. This location get busy at times, but the staff there made a great effort at keeping things moving and the wait was never unnecessarily long nor annoying. The location is very convenient as it was a short walk for me from work and my office (though they do have a pick-up and drop-off service) and there is a gas station across the street which is very handy for filling up just before returning your car. It definitely serves the King West and Liberty Village residents well as the prices are very reasonable especially if you need a car for an extended period of time which would be very expensive if you went with the popular ZipCar/AutoShare/Cars2Go route. The only minor fault is that they are closed on Sunday and they close on Saturday at noon, so if you need a car for a day on the weekend you will need to rent for the entire weekend. If we're just talking prices, then Enterprise is pretty darn cheap. If we're talking their cars...well, they're cheap too. Seriously...they still make cars without power locks?! At least the cars are always clean, and its kinda nice to have the rep do the walk-around with you to make sure there's no dings or anything. But MAN, this is the strangest rental office of all time. I think everyone that works here is male, under 30, and a little...manly? Or something like that? Going in there is always like walking into a frat house. The first time I rented from here, they were tossing around a football in the office. And checking me out. Very awkward. This time, I also got some strange looks from the guys, as though I was subject to some kind of inside joke. I do enjoy how their office has a stack to the ceiling of beverage carry-out trays, however. Shows me they're into recycling...just not enough to remember to reuse 'em. Anyway, strange, but good. Today, I showed up at 8:00 a.m., without a reservation. The staff was friendly, professional, and fast. They dealt with approximately ten people, in the 15 minutes that I was there. The "line" never got above one person. The only reason why I had to wait: it was freezing out, and they were cleaning the specific model I needed - although, another model was ready to go. This was my first car rental experience and it was not a good one. I got a quote for $211 for a three day car rental, ended up being $581 with what they called a few hundred dollar hold... no one told me about and a charge for a four day car rental not three. When I called to clarify they said it would all be sorted out when the car was returned, the hold would go back onto my card and the four day rental to three. I called today to confirm the final charges and was put on hold for close to 30 minutes and then hung up on... I called again and was told I would get a call later so they could go through the charges in detail with me. Not only has this made me anxious all weekend on my weekend trip but now the process in being prolonged with the anticipation of "going through your charges in detail later," Why can't I just get a final amount so I can anticipate what I will be getting back and in what time frame! Now I am anxious about the potential for random charges no one has told me about... NOT IMPRESSED. read more
