I had reserved a car the day before I needed it. I was on a time crunch so I had reserved it for the EARLIEST I could in the AM. I didn't get a car until around 10am. (Which is the customers faults apparently bc cars are suppose to be turned in the night before so they assume there will be cars available for the AM customers). I wasn't warned this might happen. (What happens if a customer is trying to catch a flight -they can't be two hours late to the airport.). I also wasn't told there would be a $400 deposit hold on my credit card until the car is returned. When I went to return the car at a different place that went okay even though there was no one around to take the car back, there was a key box and it was completed online- I received an email that the transaction was closed ( it was a small town so I gave them more grace.) I went to rent another car a week later (in the Dallas area) to try and return home and it was a WHOLE mess trying to get a car rental that would allow me to do a one-way trip. I had made another reservation and the same thing happened again where there were NO cars available even though I called in before we left to go pick up to confirm. Then when I got to the shop, I was informed it would be an extra $100 because it was a one way trip, But they didn't even have any cars available anyway. I had already input ALL of that specific info online on my reservation AND when I called in. I had spent 2 hours online and on the phone and then that still happened. This company is just very messy, very unprofessional, poor communication between reservations and the offices, and people are not trained very well. I had a poor experience with FOUR different offices between Tyler and then in the Dallas area, if that tells you anything. read more

New Review-5/5/2024- I been using this location for almost 26 year when it was a paper form and I don't remember all these bad unacceptable habits they had. Obviously, this location don't VALUE US for all the money we put into this location and may need to pick another location. After checked in, we was told at 501pm they had to clean the Camry. We waited 40 mins just to get a dirty car inside and out. I addressed it there and was told they are more worried about the inside but the inside was just as dusty and I let Mr. Tyler the rep see it all. This was not the car Mr. Trevor stated they was cleaning for us and maybe that is why it was not cleaned. Mr. Trevor is a awesome guy but we spends a lot of money in the company and should not be getting cars like this. When we renting in May, the wait was 30 mis and the car was not cleaned either. It had bugs in the grill and dusty too. The window shield was smudged up and we was glad to see rain because it help clear the window. I also told Mr. Trevor this as well as the CRASH warning light that cam on while driving. Car renting should value us and our choice to use them. Let me be the first to say, I'm probably not the only one to come on Yelp and inform others about the lack of customer care at this location. If management doesn't change, Yelp will have A LOT more people who are unhappy. I made a reservation a week ago because I hit an animal with my truck. I am a musician with a local band, and to do my job I have to haul a covered trailer most of the week for all the gear I carry. I was informed that it would void the rental agreement if I towed a trailer behind any of their rentals. I said... ok... What about a Large SUV? They agreed, and I made my reservation. The Large SUV was really the only option that I believed to be a suitable substitution for my damaged vehicle. This morning I got my damaged truck to a local repair shop, and as agreed, Enterprise came and got me so I could pick up my rental at Enterprise. When I got there, I waited for a while before there was even anyone at the front desk. Eventually, the man who picked me up, saw I was waiting and came to check me in. I handed him my license and I shared my insurance info. He immediately told me that they did not have a large SUV on the premises, but they were going to call around to the other locations in Tyler, TX to see if they could find one for me. I replied... I made a reservation a week ago, why wouldn't they have it waiting for me when I arrived. It's not as if they didn't have enough time. They walked to the back office, all while there was a growing number of people in the front area waiting for their rental. After about what seemed like about 30-35 minutes, the same guy came out and said that the other locations around town didn't have a large SUV either. I reiterated that I was extremely unhappy, and that it didn't make sense to make a reservation if it didn't mean anything. They weren't going to have it there for me when I got there, so why not just walk in. He expressed to me that he understood my frustration and that he apologized. He said he was gonna try one more place and he'd get back with me. At this point, I was pretty upset. After another 15-20 minutes, a bigger guy "Trevor"... AKA the manager came out. He said that all they had on the lot that was comparable was a minivan. He then asked me if that would work. I told him the whole reason I had made the reservation that I made was to be able to haul all of my equipment, and that the minivan was not conducive to the purpose. There was simply not enough room in the minivan without moving the seats out. He said that I was wrong, and that the minivan could hold 7 people, just like the SUV. I reiterated that it was not the same, and that was why I had reserved the SUV and not the minivan. If the minivan was comparable, then why was there a price difference?? He glared at me and the said, "So the minivan isn't going to work for you? Are you seriously turning down the minivan?" I said, "Yes, I want what I reserved." He said he was sorry but they couldn't make that happen. I then began to ask him, and I felt a lot the Jerry Seinfeld and the reservation bit that he did on his show, why didn't they make sure there was going to be the cars that had been reserved were going to be there. He shrugged his shoulders and called the next person up in line. The guy who had originally picked me up (only redeemable character in this aggravating episode) saw me fuming and asked if he could take me back. Thankfully, the body shop had not torn apart my truck yet, and I was able to pick up my damaged truck and drive it until the parts that were necessary for repair arrived. I told the body shop to NEVER recommend any customers to this store. They are inept, unsympathetic and incompetent. I will not be sending Enterprise any business anytime soon. If you have someplace to be or actually need a specific vehicle, don't go to Enterprise. read more

The Tyler TX. location on 323 is not to be trusted. My daughter rented a car a few months ago and when she turned it in she owed money. All of a sudden I have charges of over $3000. on my credit cards. I did not rent the car. My daughter rented last name Bodeman. I am sorry that she owed you money but that is between you and my daughter. I used my credit cards to help my daughter so they said they were on file and they could charge on my credit cards. In Texas they call this fraud. I did not sign anything stating I was responsible for any charges. I am on a fixed income and cannot pay for her bills. I helped her prior to turn in of rental. I was not present for the charges and did not sign any documents. read more

Reservation made 3 days ago with confirmation and 2 hours before pick up time and they called me and told me that they do not have any vehicle and then this guy hung up, Called place and again and they said they have one vehicle available and I can come and pick up, I g Uber and went there and was told no vehicle available, and this guy was rude rather then assisting he started lying that they called earlier which never happened. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. We rented 2 weeks in advance to make sure car was available. Web site says open at 7:30. Employee does not show up till 7:45 with Dutch Bros coffee in tow. She babbles on about showing up to work - like she's the only person who has that burden. Finally she determines she cannot run our credit/debit card because it has "Debit" printed on it. We ask her to call other Tyler office on 323. She refuses to. We tell her we'll wait 5 minutes until they are open. "Honey, if they didn't answer now, they won't answer then." We have a trip planned. We have a reserved car sitting outside waiting. She refuses to do anything but slather coconut oil on her lips. How do people like this keep their jobs? You can relocate your Tahoe to a creative location. Went to Enterprise on 323 and they tell us they are not part of the same system and can't help. read more

Had a small hiccup when I went to pick up car but situation was handled quickly and did not impact my travel plans. Associates were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely rent from here again and highly recommend. read more

I made a reservation online like the voicemail said to . One day before the reservation they call & say they cat honor it b/c I need to drop the car elsewhere. Told me to call airport location. They said the same thing. If this is the policy it should be stated plainly on the website, in the voicemail. They should not have waited til the day before my trip to cancel. So angry!! read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Storefront in shopping center - Car Rental Near Me - Tyler, Texas

Booked a fullsize sedan such as a Malibu or similar weeks in advance but upon the day to pickup the rental none available and was given a Mazda CX30 small SUV. There were several full size vehcled present but they would not rent to us. I have been a customer of this company for over 15-20 years and in the past fews years the experience has become sub-par. We took the SUV and upon return I spoke with the branch manager (Marshall) who said he would give a discount from our original charge of $389.03 to $268.38. He stated that I would see the new charge on my credit card statement in which it did not appear but the original amount did. He gave me his business card and wrote down the amount and said the new amount should show up in couple of days. Well, it has not. I have attempted to contact him via text and told him I would dispute the claim and he was very arrogant that it would be a waste of time. I have filed a dispute with my cardholder and if this is not settled pretty soon, I will file a civil lawsuit against Marshall/Enterprise for the original amount and/or the difference. I have also filed a review against them with my local BBB. It appears from other reviews this company is building a bad path of poor performance at any location. This Enterprise branch has excellent customer service. The staff was friendly and efficient, even with a lot of customers waiting. I appreciate Enterprise's pick up and drop off service as it saved me a major hassle. What impressed me especially was the above and beyond service offered by Ryan. A customer came in, upset that she missed the last shuttle at 530pm. Ryan said, "I'll drive you home, ma'am" -- his polite concern is a very welcome Texas trait. Always reliable and ready to get us in and out without delay. If I ever had a problem they would rectify the problem immediately. It's a rental car changing hand repeatedly so there are no guarantees but they will assure my family we are getting a safe vehicle every time. My go to for family trips. read more

Had reservations to pick up car Sunday. After calling & speaking with Kelly 3 different times explaining this is emergancy rental. My husband in Texas working Jeep broke down in desperate need of rental due to all the rain. I even called telling them time my husband left to pick up car & told him he may be a few minutes late. The best experience I have had with a rental car location! We showed up 5 minutes before close on a Friday night, long story why that was the case, but none the less, that's what happened. They stayed another hour to get us ready and in the right car that would fit our family. They were polite and never seemed aggravated at staying late, although I'm sure they were. This is one of the most back woods old era style of dealing rental car establishments to still exist. Not only could I not rent a car but they had the audacity to add they wanted to nosy around and peek at my credit score in order to rent a car. I am not from Tyler but have never experienced this type of situation in the other parts of the world especially in the United States to rent a car. Absolutely asinine. Thank God my trip in these parts are just a few days then I can go back to the normal part of the world and live again. I missed my 4:40pm flight at Dallas to Tyler, TX ( last flight of the night) due to American Airline employee error (different post). They put me on a shuttle to the car rental agencies.(15 min wait + a 15 minute drive.) I decided to pick Enterprise Car Rental because they said the Enterprise in Tyler, TX on the SSW side of the loop, would take me home when I dropped the car off. I had just had an exceptional 5 days of rentals with the Enterprise in Lake Elsinore, Calif. They picked me up from my sons home and dropped me backed off 2 times. ALL ENTERPRISES ARE NOT THE SAME. BEWARE! The one in Tyler, TX at 3221 SSW Loop 323 is not customer friendly. They refused to take me home. They said they will only go 10 miles and I was a few miles beyond that. If I had known that, I would not have chosen Enterprise. It ended up costing me $47.00 for 16 miles by cab. The Enterprise at Dallas Airport charged me $151.00 for their cheapest tiny car, plus $10 extra for a navigational device that didn't work right and got me lost. A 2hr drive took me 4 hours. Finally got home at 11PM. This was a 1 day rental. I paid $35.00 a day for a midsize car in Calif . The Enterprise in Dallas charged me more than 4 times that amount. I am fed up with Enterprise in TX. read more
