I had a terrible experience with this enterprise in New York. The man I dealt with was extremely rude and unhelpful, I'm pregnant and he showed no empathy or professionalism whatsoever. Over the phone, I was told the deposit would be $50, but once I got there, they suddenly demanded $300 even though I had just been in an accident that wasn't my fault. Instead of working with me or showing basic customer service, he was dismissive and disrespectful. There are plenty of other companies out there, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. They were very efficient & helpful and got us out of there within 45 minutes or so & that's with a customer in front of us. It was a pleasant experience during a difficult situation. I have had the displeasure over the years (Since 2002) to have to rent from enterprise at various locations throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Unfortunately, the same can be said for this location. Let me explain.: my car went into the body shop for repairs so insurance set up a reservation. OK, no problem. They provided me a Jeep grand Cherokee that smelled of weed and vaping. I returned the vehicle the next day when my car was ready from the body shop. Unfortunately, my car needed the body shop two days later so again I talked with the insurance company and they said they would set up a reservation and it would not be a small vehicle. Not only did they have no record of the reservation. They also tried to send me down to 233 Street in the Bronx. When I told them that I have to pick up a car at the Yonkers branch the office told me that they would send the reservation over to McLean Avenue.. The reservation was supposed to be for a full-size vehicle. I wound up getting a Nissan Sentra, which is a very small car. I had to take time out of my day to return it to get a Nissan rogue which was basically what I should've got to start out with. Had they honored the reservation. Also, I was supposed to be picked up from the body shop which never happened and it cost me almost $20 to get an Uber to go to the location. Now I picked up the car yesterday and today I get a phone call from the third Avenue branch in the Bronx that I've never even heard of and the guy starts out telling me that they need my phone number and credit card number because I have one of their cars. I said I do not have one of your cars. I have a car from Yonkers and they said I have to call them. The bottom line is is that no one knows why the third Avenue branch from the Bronx called me but the guy in Yonkers who took the phone call said that he had to extend my reservation out and asked for more money. Enterprise as a whole needs to start hiring people that first off Know customer service, and secondly, understand cars! The cars are some of the worst maintained vehicles I have ever seen, and I used to work in the auto industry. Rent from Avis, you will never have a problem! read more

aalijha is the assistant branch manager at this location and she wears the title well! she was so patient, knowledgeable, helpful and flowed so well. when I came here she was working alone and had 3 people to service at once; she took care of everyone so efficiently that I barley noticed I was last in line! she helped answer all of my questions, never having done this before, and even provided insight regarding my insurance claim. I have reserved a car from this branch on 3 occasions. 2 times I received a call right before I was about to head to pick it up informing me that they did not have any vehicles. Leaving me to scramble Igor a solution with short notice. As Jerry Seinfeld famously said decades ago: "You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them." The one time I did successfully rent a car from them, they did not tell me about their "no after hours drop offs" policy. This lead to a frustrating late night experience in a bad neighborhood and an additional charge on my bill. This is Something that is not in-line with traditional corporate standards and should be shared with all guests, but especially those who are renting on corporate accounts. I am an Platinum Tier Enterprise Rewards member and have rented coast-to-coast with varying experiences. Yet this is the first location that lead me to leave a negative review. I rented a vehicle here for two days and was pleased with their customer service. Justlyn picked me up promptly at the Honda Dealer nearby and was able to secure a vehicle promptly. Shakira was also attentive and had superb customer service. I returned the vehicle at 7 am and even though they open at 7:30 am, she came outside and still processed my return vehicle. Now that my friend is excellent customer service. These two ladies are amazing and need to be kept there at that location. First off, I don't post reviews. But my experience here deserves more than just a review. I initially went to mount Vernon, as well as in the Bronx on 233rd. Both locations were not helpful one bit, allowing me to be even more delayed in getting a rental. It's been two weeks. Finally I contacted this location. I spoke with the AM Abby. Literally just over the phone, she answered all my questions and gave me the reassurance I would be taken care of. Less than ten minutes upon arrival, I was not only taken care off effectively but the level of customer experience she showed me was beyond words. Have had two bad experiences with this location. The first, we rented a luxury SUV and were called the night before and told they had no cars because of the supply chain shortage "and we would be lucky to even get a car." We ended up downgrading to a normal midsize SUV- fine, it worked and we were off to our destination. Fast forward to a week ago when we had reserved a midsize SUV several weeks ago and got a call at 5pm (when they close) the night before our 9am rental/trip and were told they didn't hold us a car because we just booked that day. Absolute lie because i had the confirmation from several weeks ago. Moreover, the employee was rude and brushed us off and said we could "call around" to other branches to see if we could find something, as if the responsibility didn't rest on them! You have one job- and provide one service and that's to rent a car to someone who books ahead. If you can't fulfill that task, you shouldn't be in business. Truly think the issue is with this location in particular, because we called Enterprise corporate who- magically- got us a rental at another location for the time we had reserved the next morning. Still inconvenient because it was 15-20 min. further away, but this could have been avoided if Maclean Enterprise had competent, customer-oriented staff working there. Ignore any old reviews; the new manager, Dayan, is truly outstanding. He knows the business and how to advise if you have any questions, but he's not pushy at all. He and his team also know the area and are able to offer suggestions for alternate routes if need be. My early morning pickup was a great way to start the day, despite the snarled traffic all around. It gave me the opportunity to meet the manager (yes the manager himself retrieved me from the hotel). In the course of driving back to the shop with Dayan I learned about how he operates and the way he views customer service. The respect with which he approaches everyone from clients to employees is nothing short of excellent. Rent your next car here with confidence. I would give them negative stars if I could. My mother had a horrible experience with them but I figured I would give them a chance, I rented a vehicle, the car they gave me stunk like weed and garbage, every time I got it I would gag, and would have to make sure no one was around me when I was leaving work because I was want to keep my job. Even better the car had a leaking tire and would be flat every morning. When I called them they said the manager would call me to set up a new vehicle and I never heard back, I had to call corporate, waited 2 more days and finally heard from them. They gave me a more suitable vehicle, but then after my insurance had been exhausted I paid my balance and they said I could do self pay, which I agreed to. These crooks started charging me more than double my original rate and charged me another deposit without so much as a phone call or email. When I called to inquire the manager had a horrendous attitude, yelled at me and told me return the vehicle! Exact words "You don't like it then return the vehicle!" Courtney was pleasant to deal with, but the manager is a nasty crook! 0/10 would not recommend, VERY ghetto. read more

My parents came to visit from out of town and needed a car while on their trip. This location was crazy busy on the Monday in which my Father rented the car and the Monday on which he returned the car. I was prepared for the worst. Every staff member was friendly, professional and quick on their toes. I was greatly impressed. Brian Cedeno helped us both times. He seemed to thrive on the vast amount of work that needed to get done all at once. He made everyone feel seen by acknowledging everyone by name and assuring them they would be helped momentarily. We were stick when our Honda died in Yonkers. We waited five hours to be picked up. Then when we called back we were told it was a problem with using a debit card. My husband who is a road warrior IT Consultant had gone over all that on the phone with Enterprise. He had been assured it would be jo problem since we both had an extensive history with Enterprise. I got into a rather unpleasant experience with the greasy manager. He was New York tough I am CT tough and won't be pushed around. Refused to have another car for me and suggested I drive in that unsafe car to a Bronx location for another car. The toll system charged me $40 for tolls that I did not go through and refuse to refund me without me providing proof that it wasn't me but also refuse to provide me proof that it was. I came to this location to rent a car for work travel. I mentioned that it was cheaper than flying. The young man that was helping me upgraded my rental to a Rav 4 for no charge. I originally rented an economy car. They were friendly and professional both on the phone and in person. They are fast and efficient with regards to checking in and out and explain everything. I had already contacted UBER for a ride but they offered to give me a lift to get home. All in all I highly recommend this location (I don't have experience with others yet) and will be back again if need be. Do not rent from here. I just got back from this place; I gave them two weeks worth of business ($600+). When the car was first picked up, the man quickly went around the car to inspect it - and I emphasize, quickly. We told this person to carefully inspect the car because we did not want to be charged for any damages we did not commit, and we were simply told to not worry about it. To note, when the car was picked up, it was filthy from the outside. Not only was it dirty, but there were at least 100 individual spots of scratches, dents, paint peeling, curb rash...all sorts of damages were present around the car, which caused our initial concern for the proper acknowledgement of all the damage on the vehicle. Now, after returning the vehicle, I was told that they found a crack near the very bottom of the bumper (the person inspecting the car had to bend all the way down to find the 2 inch crack), and they told me they will contact my insurance company for the damages. The reiterate - the car was filthy at the time of pick up; there was, without exaggeration, a multitude of all sorts of damage on the car, and now, a single spot of damage is being attributed to me, when this car was used for the sole purpose of driving someone to school and picking them up, all the while with the car being parked in my driveway. Reading online, this is a common experience when people rent cars - a lot of complaints of rental companies attempting to pin damage on the renter. Now, I cannot say if this is just a shady business practice often undertaken by rental companies, or, whether this was just an honest mistake, to which, the initial condition of the car should have been taken into account before attempting to rob me of my money for damage I was not responsible of. The damage on the bumper is too low to be caused by anyone backing into me, and to me, the only logical way that such damage would occur would be if someone pulled up into a high curb or one of those parking lot space dividers, which could not clear the bumper. read more

This little off-site Enterprise location is the best price/best service car rental we've found in the Manhattan/Bronx/Westchester area. Staff is informal but efficient. Holiday weekends they may move 70+ cars from the small lot that seems to hold just 40 but they handle it. Often give credit for taxi to get there and might also drop us off at the subway when we're done, perfect for the early morning post-holiday dash.
