I usually rent out of the Arlington Heights location and I've always had stellar service, so I expected no less from the Yorkville location. Not so much. My initial rental experience was smooth. I explained at that time that I would be making my final payment with a different payment method than I used for the deposit (either my debit card -or- a friend would pay in cash on Monday morning). I also explained VERY CLEARLY that I would be dropping the car off on Sunday (key drop box) because my flight was Sunday afternoon, so I would call them on Monday morning. They said this would be no problem. Never did they mention that I would not be able to do this payment method change over the phone. What about "my flight is on Sunday" makes him think I will still be in IL on Monday? First bad experience...I got a flat tire on 355N and that was a very dangerous situation because the traffic is high speed and it just wasn't good. When I called to inquire about the spare (because I couldn't get out and look because of the traffic danger), the guy who answered was a bit rude. He immediately stated, "well, you declined our coverage..." I cut him off & said "that's NOT why I'm calling" and proceeded to ask my questions. Crappy experience #1. While I waited for the awesome state police (I was told by AAA that I was required to call 911 because of the location of my vehicle in an unsafe spot) & AAA driver to show, I called the Yorkville location back & explained I didn't feel safe in their car on a doughnut spare & would like to swap it out in Arlington Heights, if possible. He did arrange that. So, I show up in Arlington Heights & swap out the car. Amazing, smooth experience, as usual. I think they may have even upgraded the car bc it was a turbo with leather seats, not some cheapie compact like I rented & expected. Sweet. I love the Arlington Heights location. The new car was great - no problems. So, I return the car to the Yorkville location on Sunday morning & drop the keys in their Dropbox. No problem... Until Monday morning when I call to actually make the final payment for the rental. He states they have already charged my credit card. I'm thinking "OK - I asked you on Friday NOT to do that, but no big deal, just change the payment method to my debit card." Him: I can't do that. Me: Why not? Him: Because I can't do that over the phone. You have to physically be here with the debit card. Me: Well, I'm 1200 miles away, so that's not going to happen. I explained this to the guy on Friday. Him: Well, he was wrong. I'll talk to him about that. Me: And how does that help me now? Him: There's nothing I can do unless you're physically here with the card. Me: Again, that's not going to happen, because I'm in AUSTIN. Let me speak to a manager. Him: I am the manager. Me: Then you can fix this. Him: There's nothing I can do. Well, then I said a naughty word because I was beyond pissed at this point. He chastised me for swearing. Seriously, dude? You're doing exactly what I asked you NOT to do as far as payment method, flat out lied to me on Friday & I'm the bad one here? So, I got off the phone with no resolution & reported it to their corporate office. I'm still waiting to hear back from them. My friend did end up having to go & pay cash in person to get this resolved, but he shouldn't have had to do that. And I shouldn't have been lied to. Hopefully, their staff will be better trained not to give out false information in the future. And hopefully the manager will actually be able to do what's right for the customer & what was promised at the time of the rental. I find it hard to believe that he couldn't have made this right. It appears that he just didn't want to do it. Update: I still think the Yorkville location sucks, but the District (or Area) Manager called me and after playing phone tag for a week, resolved this to my satisfaction. My experience & opinion of this location, however, remains the same. read more

I rented a Chrysler van from Yorkville. After driving for several hours I needed to adjust the inside year view mirror. It came off in my hand. Please be advised ,I'm no weightlifter. This was faulty parts or workmanship. After driving unsafely for 2 days (mirror swinging from windshield) I returned van and explained the trouble, While very polite the agent explained they would take it to Safelite and bill me for repairs. I requested they take to dealer and ask for warranty repairs. They did not. Billing me $200 which I wont pay or claim on my insurance. Great customer loyalty, wont rent from enterprise again. After receiving an email from Enterprise, they have opted to pay for damages and dropped the claim against me. The sales representative's exact words: "USAA and most every auto insurance provider WILL NOT cover this vehicle if it is in an accident." Also, "The $50.00 charge will be returned to you upon completion of the contract." The customer service representative "upsold" the insurance to me through deceit.  Simply put, he lied to me, and convinced me to sign for an additional insurance policy that I did not need.  He knew this was a lie. Then, he had the audacity to tell me that USAA will pay for that extra insurance because Enterprise will bill them for it. So, I signed the contract, and left. 1. USAA covers rental cars.  So does just about every other insurance provider.  I did not know this because I trusted the Enterprise customer service provider's sales pitch. 2. Enterprise did NOT bill this extra insurance to USAA; instead, they billed it to me.  Why? Because USAA and just about every other insurance provider covers rental cars, and if Enterprise were to bill it to them, they'd balk at it.  No wonder Enterprise did NOT bill this extra insurance to USAA. 3.  I have yet to see my $50.00, or a refund of the cost of this insurance - insurance that was sold to me because of a blatant lie on the part of the Enterprise customer service representative. After five weeks of investigation on the part of Corporate Enterprise, I have received no phone calls, no emails, nothing. read more

I have rented from these guys five times in the last two months and every experience was perfect. When they didn't have a car in my class available they offered free upgrades. Once, just because they had the car available, I got a free upgrade without asking. Every car I rented (Dodge Caliber, Dodge Challenger (x2), Buick Enclave, Ford Escape) has been in excellent condition and has offered the little things, like an AUX input for my music from my phone and Satellite radio. The pickup and return process has been quick and pain-free. The costs are very competitive for my needs and their location is easy to get in and out of. I even took advantage of their pick-up service from Plano to Yorkville once. read more

My husband and I have been loyal Enterprise renters for over 12 years. We started renting when we lived in Lake Villa, IL and have progressed through 10 different locations within our various moves. We've lived in Yorkville now for 3 years. We learned early on that the people we deal with change a lot and we sometimes have to retrain them to our needs, however, that's never been an issue. This store has had a lot of turnover but we've had great experiences with everyone working in the franchise. They are accommodating and thorough in their interactions with us and always seem to want to do what is right for the customer. Do not rent from this location. The car that I rented was hit while parked by a family member of mine. He volunteered to pay for the damages or submit it to insurance. When enterprise contacted me about the damage I informed their staff member at this location Katie that my Family member was willing to pay or submit to insurance. I gave them his information including phone number name and insurance information. And was informed that this would be no issue. Several weeks later I was contacted by corporate and informed that I needed to pay up. I again gave them my family members information and inform them to contact them. Enterprise will call everyone in my family in a matter of five minutes when I do not hear from someone immediately. We have now been in constant contact with enterprise and I have an Insurance claim number submitted to them. And they are still attempting to send me to collections. Do not rent from this enterprise. Also I received this car from enterprise through State Farm after my car was hit. I was informed by State Farm that they are a preferred renter with enterprise and enterprise has an agreement to never charge if it is cosmetic damage. This was very light cosmetic damage that enterprise is saying totals $500 UPDATES, I contacted Enterprise Cutomer service as requested and have heard nothing back. Just another reason to avoid renting with them!! read more

The price seems reasonable until you factor in the four different types of coverage that are available on the rental. I agreed to one of the four, the damage waiver only just to be safe, after all, I was still "rattled" after having spent the day on the phone calling people, cancelling an appointment and getting a ride to Enterprise (saving them time & $) after hitting a deer at 6am that morning. The work took 1 month to the day. The charge was $1,145.95. I said I would pay the confiscatory charge, but I feel that the basic insurance charge should be factored in the price when you drive off the lot. Who sets the rates for the various coverage items anyway? Nothing happened to the vehicle anyway, and as a courtesy I called them weeks ago to notify them that from day 1 the dashboard display said "oil change required" . (Me to them-) "your welcome" for the heads up on your lack of vehicle maintenance. read more
