The farthest door to the right when looking at the parking lot. The Home Depot rental staff is hit or miss. Some are new and do not know how to work Penske's computer systems (which after moving all day and having to wait for them to call Penske and then troubleshoot) may make you wait 20 mins just to get your receipt. Here is where Penske shines. After my receipt debacle, I was informed I would be getting a certain dollar amount back: the deposit on the truck plus unused predetermined millage that was part of my quote before picking up the truck. This would only be given back obviously if the truck came back unscathed. So I get the dollar amount that will be reimbursed wait a few days (can take 7-10 business days depending on your bank) and Penske reimbursed me $20 more than their initial reimbursement quote. I will definitely be using this company for all future moves.

While the gentleman who did my paperwork for Guardian was pleasant enough, and the rate was competitive, I experienced an unrecoverable loss of a red leather chair, to what appeared to be rodent(s) chewing at it. There were a few newly purchased packing boxes which also suffered the same type of damage. When I brought this to the attention of Brad, the manager of the facility, he told me about the facility's insurance coverage and pointed me in their direction. (I guess that was easier for him than just telling me what he surely already knew.) I filled out a multiple page claim form online and provided clear evidence with pictures. About a week later I get a form letter back telling me that I'd be covered for a natural disaster, but if their storage unit had rodent infestation resulting in damage to my property, that was not covered. Moral of the story would be to inspect the unit thoroughly; ask the unlikely questions; and get representations in writing. Not a good experience.

Our bad for not taking photos of the odometer when we picked up and dropped off the truck, but we never thought we'd be ripped off like that. They were supposed to come at 10. At 11, the receptionist texted me and asked me if they were there yet. I replied that they weren't and she said she would check in with them. After a number of texts and calls to them over the course of two hours, they finally responded that there was an "emergency" and that they are forced to "cancel" the job. They said they were on the phone the whole time (3 hours??) trying to deal with the worker's emergency. It's unprofessional that the receptionist wouldn't return my calls and texted me back that they were canceling the job. She still hasn't responded to my last text message. When my u-haul box was loaded in California, the company I used for that side of the move was incredibly communicative and let me know when there was a delay at the u-haul center in getting the u-haul box. This is how customer service SHOULD work. I already prepaid and will probably have to spend hours on the phone with u-haul trying to get my money back from them and figuring out another company to deliver my ubox, and possibly might be charged for another month of storage at u-haul.

However, when my items were delivered to my new home, I was HORRIFIED. The way they packed this box resulted in hundreds of dollars worth of damage. My sofa was taken apart and the pieces to put it back together cannot be found anywhere. Plastic bins were packed in there in a way that caused many of them to literally split open and spill contents everywhere. My bookshelf was not blanket wrapped, and therefore ended up with HUGE gashes in the wood. Additionally, I provided two plastic bed bags for my mattress and box spring. They used it on the box spring, but NOT the $1,800 mattress. It arrived horribly dirty. When my items arrived, I reached out to the company to voice my concerns and ask for some kind of compensation for the damage. I still have not heard back. I'm disappointed in the service, the treatment of my items, and wasted money. I hope Uhaul discontinues their relationship with this company. I wish I could post pictures of the mess my furniture was left in.
