My kid had some previous experience with Scratch coding, so she had some idea what to do, but for a complete beginner, they might be lost. There were two people from the League there, Jed and a student and they walked around and helped kids individually. I was interested in their program, so I approached Jed after class to ask some questions about their classes. I was in the midst of asking a question when he just said "We're not here to sell the program" and walked away from me, then intentionally ignored me while I was standing right in front of him. That didn't make the best impression, but I am glad they are offering these free classes.

I have spoken personally on the phone and via email to the owner that I wish to cancelled to my surprise, I am charged for the monthly fee on my credit card! If I did not check my charges, this would have been monthly ongoing basis. I have called my credit card company to block this merchant and dispute this charge; as the studio does NOT reply back to their emails unless you are a new student or enrolling. Not a happy camper!

NCDA also piloted a program where the families of the studio adopted families from nearby Camp Pendleton for Christmas (Bells of Freedom) several years ago. Last year, two huge UPS trucks and the guys in brown alongside a caravan of families made many underserved servicemen's families holiday a lovely surprise. What NCDA started benefits not only the military families but also the kids from the studio who do all the prep work and hopefully, learn a little about giving back to others. As a note, the studio also offers adult classes, both during the weekday and on evenings, for beginners and beyond. There are families that have both moms and kid(s) dancing at the yearly recital. So they had offered a "trial class"" - had an okay first class, but it was too basic for my children so we decided to not enroll and enroll in another local swim class. BEWARE - what they didn't tell you is that their trial classes cost the same as a class and they auto-register your child for recurrent classes (despite emailing them that we were not enrolling). My children are all in MULTIPLE activities across San Diego, and never once do people offer a trial class only to CHARGE you if you decline automatic enrollment. Very sneaky policy - will never recommend to anyone as "finding the right fit" for your child is definitely not their top priority.

Generally have been happy for 5 years, but we recently withdrew our kids. That's for 2 kids, so let's double the original $80 and account for inflation over 5 years.... I still don't manage to get anywhere near $295. That's ALOT of money just for a few 30 minute lessons. I also have to add that these lessons were rarely a full 30 minutes, mostly because of other kids in the class showing up late and then huge drama as they get in and fuss with their goggles, while my kid (who did show up on time) sits being ignored. Lessons would routinely not get going until 10 minutes in. The teachers and the pool staff were mostly great, but the value for money has disappeared. The staff who took my cancellation didn't even ask why, and the pool staff said we weren't the first. Maybe Covid is a justification but I doubt when things get back to normal the prices will return to 2019 levels - if they do I might consider returning, but for now we have taken our kids to a different school.
