They don't just teach you recipes; they give you real-world, actionable advice you can actually take with you to your job search and your first day on the job. The program is extremely hands-on, which makes a huge difference. Plus, the curriculum is packed with practical, tactical information that students can take and put into action. What stood out most is that Owner/Instructor Nino fully embodies the mindset he teaches. He says the balance of being responsible, sociable, and fun as the hallmark of a great bartender -- and watching him run a class, you see exactly what that looks like in practice. He sets the standard himself. Highly recommend to anyone serious about getting into bartending.

The two weeks is much better for sure, a lot of information and drinks to learn but overall is a lot of fun. The con for me was definitely the job placement. I paid for the package B (just north of $800) which includes the "job placement" option, i was expecting a job board with restaurants within their network that would be willing to accept students from their school or at least something close to that due to the price and the network they might have and is actually a third party staffing agency that does that, as far as i know they will put students on wedding parties and stuff like that but not an actual long term job on a restaurant bar or whatever, not only that after some messages the agency never got back to back and it has been 2-3 months. They give you a job workshop in how to make your resume stand out which is pretty great, i went to 20-25 restaurants and i was able to get 2 interviews with the information they show us in the school but unfortunate none of these 25ish restaurants wanted to risk someone that had none actual experience on a bar. I ended it up getting a job recently but if im being honest, had nothing to do with the school, it was from a friend's reference. Overall pretty cool, not sure it was worth it the 800 price point, at least not for me, is up to yourself to decide if it is. Kind of unfortunate, the place and the instructors are pretty neat and you actually have fun and learn at the same time

Before signing up, I called with a lot of questions because I was cautious about spending money on a program I had just found, especially while being on a tight budget. Nino took the time to answer everything and never made me feel rushed. I took the risk, and I'm glad I did. In just six class days, you learn everything from the basics to making multiple drinks at once. You really do have to study. Memorizing drinks and then physically making them was exactly what I needed to build confidence behind the bar. They value your time, and you should value theirs. I also enjoyed meeting new people who were all there for the same reason--to learn and get into the industry. Joe is great. He has a lot of straightforward insight and gives you plenty of tips to help recipes stick in your memory. Just get there early because he likes to take up two parking spots. (Inside Joke) The job placement isn't them handing you a job. It's Nino helping you stand out and giving you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to land the job you're looking for. He also has connections with event staffing companies, which gives you opportunities to bartend events, get your feet wet, and gain experience in a fun environment. With 24 years in the industry, there's really no question Nino can't answer. I'm grateful I found this school and happy to have made new friends in the industry while building my confidence behind the bar. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to get started in bartending.

I came in with zero experience in the bartending industry, and by the end of the course I feel fully confident walking into a bar and pursuing bartender jobs in San Diego. If you're looking for a bartending school in San Diego or trying to figure out how to become a bartender, this place is legit. The owner and lead instructor Nino is a true professional and a real subject matter expert when it comes to bartending and the hospitality industry. He teaches more than just recipes, he teaches how the bar industry actually works, how to move behind the bar, how to interact with customers, and what employers look for when hiring bartenders. Joe is also an excellent instructor. He's extremely technical and really helps you dial in the craft - he's a great example of a great bartending personality. One thing I'll say: show up to every class ready to learn. There is a lot of information packed into each session, and if you miss a class it can definitely set you back. The value you get for the price is honestly incredible. The course covers: * Bartending fundamentals * Drink recipes and mixology * Bar techniques and speed * Customer service behind the bar * Industry knowledge * Bartender job placement support I chose the school + staffing support package, and they actively help connect graduates with bartender jobs and opportunities in San Diego. If you're searching for: * Bartending classes in San Diego * Bartender training near me * How to become a bartender in San Diego * Best bartending school in San Diego This is absolutely worth it. Huge thanks to Nino and Joe for sharing their knowledge and helping new bartenders get started in the industry. I just finished the program this week and am now starting my job search. I'll definitely be coming back to leave another review once I land my first bartending job. Highly recommend!!

Nino was a very skilled and attentive teacher and showed so much patience when we asked questions. The course contains a lot of information to learn so it is important to study outside of class. I really enjoyed the challenge of it because I feel it gets us ready for the fast paced environment of the job. I appreciated the time we had to practice the recipes and improve our technique. Nino had us work collaboratively with other students to practice our recipes. This was a very effective teaching strategy that I believe created a team environment and helped us bond with each other. The information we received on resume building and job searching was very helpful to me because I have only held jobs in the education field. Nino was very responsive to my emails throughout the program and he provided me feedback quickly upon receiving my resume. Overall, I highly recommend Inland Empire Bartending School. I've already encouraged many friends to sign up for the course.

This one's gonna be lengthy…read more I regret this school. One of the biggest reasons I enrolled was because they heavily advertised job placement and made it sound like they would help graduates find work. In my experience, that did NOT happen. I sent my resume and along with other students I've kept in touch with, they too, did not receive any job placement ( he really does pick and choose who he wants to help ) The course felt extremely rushed. We were expected to learn and memorize over 25 cocktails in the span of only 2 weeks, which did not feel like enough time to properly practice, build confidence, and retain the information since we can only practice hands on for 6 days! ( I passed first time but I had to study like CRAZY and used YouTube.. I shouldn't have to be using YouTube if I'm literally enrolled in a class.) Anyways, POS system were supposed to be taught but didn't. The overall experience felt very unprofessional. I did not feel supported as a student. It also took two weeks to receive my certificate after completing the course, which delayed my ability to move forward with job applications. Spoiler alert, no one will hire you with no experience and without saying it, they basically want you to lie on your interview. For $600, I expected much more. We were not provided with a bar kit ( which you'd think would be included since you're paying so much for a class that only provides a binder ) and the value of the course did not match the cost. I left feeling like I paid for promises that were not fulfilled. What was especially disappointing was seeing certain graduates receive opportunities while others were left behind. The same day I graduated, three students who graduated hours after me were given the opportunity to bartend at a festival. Another person from my class was also given an opportunity and was even made an instructor shortly after completing the course. While I'm happy for those individuals, it was discouraging to see someone who had just been a student become responsible for teaching new students so quickly. It made the process feel inconsistent and unfair, especially when job placement was something that was heavily promoted. I also want to mention that I have noticed the responses to negative reviews from Nino have come across as defensive and rude rather than professional. Constructive criticism should be an opportunity to improve, not something to respond to with hostility. As someone who was unemployed, I took a leap of faith and invested $600 hoping this would help me create a new opportunity for myself. Instead, I walked away feeling disappointed, disrespected, and like I did not receive the support or value I was promised. Based on my personal experience, I do not recommend this school. UPDATE to his reply: this is NOT a fake review, he had a Memorial Day sale for $600, he does sales all the time, check his Instagram. The audacity to try to save yourself by claiming all bad reviews are fake is CRAZY. Take accountability for how terrible you run this "school". I've attached photos during my experience at this place to prove I went here. Including my name on the wall once I finished.
