Epic Auto Detailers is an amateur detail shop that will try to nickel an dime you all the way. They charge an outrageous amount for pet hair removal and alsothey charge you extra for anything above a compact car. They will even charge if you car is dirtier than they think a normal dirty car is. Maybe Epic doesn't understand the concept of a DETAIL! I had a Toyota Tacoma that was classified as an SUV on an interior detail only. Keep in my the truck is only an extended cab, not even a 4 door. STAY AWAY!! They tried to say that I needed an additional $175 of work. Then when I arrived after they had my truck all day, they were just starting! I raised my voice and he called the police! The cop told me in private to file a claim with my credit card company to dispute the service. This place is a scam.....they get your groupon money then make you feel guilty about the condition of your vehicle. DUH That is why is am getting it detailed! read more

I'm not even sure how this place is rated so well. I bought a deal through living social for an executive cleaning. They had my car for 7 hours and when I picked it up, it didn't look any different than if I had gone through an automatic car wash. The guy left cleaning bottles under my seats and when I opened one it just looked and smelled like water. I actually had to wipe my seats down in the back because there was still dirt and crumbs from where my daughter's car seat had been. There was road tar over the wheel well and when I mentioned it to the guy, he said "Oh that's not gonna come off." Well, miraculously I was able to easily scrape it off with my finger nail. I will NEVER go back to this place and suggest that no one else waste their money either. Oh, they also charged me extra for the "excessive animal hair" that was allegedly in my car which is funny since I have a cat, but she has NEVER been in the car at all. read more

OMG. What a horrible experience. Purchased two Groupons for the "executive detail" The job they performed on both vehicles was not worth the $99 dollars for each I paid them and definitely not worth, according to the Groupon ad, $the 300+ it was supposed to be worth. Took my son's Ford F150 which had to go back because the windows were an absolute mess. No big surprise there when we arrived to pick it up it was outside in the dark and they were still trying to wipe it down and clean the windows. Even I know you can't effectively clean windows after dark, when it's damp and the vehicle is outside. Even inside washing windows a hard thing to accomplish properly when it is dark and damp outside. They were in such a rush to get out of there early they had pulled all their work vehicles into the shop bay area rather than leaving the truck there to complete the work properly. The key he left with them had a leather tag on the key ring - it was gone. After refusing to leave until they found it they finally admitted they had broken it and offered nothing in the way of an appropriate apology or anything to replace it. They rifled thru his center console and his glove box but neither of them had been cleaned. The reason they provided is they failed to get a phone number and were looking for some way to contact him. They had the Groupon number and all my contact information and I had personally talked with Anthony several times on the phone, so that doesn't wash with me. What kind of a business doesn't take the time to get the proper information they need?? My son took his vehicle back the next day and being a much more forgiving person than me had them finish removing the wax from the outside and redo the windows, some improvement but not much but he needed to get back to Virginia. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I reluctantly took my car to them the following week. When I picked it up the windows were cracked open and Anthony pointed out to me what he said was fading of the driver's seat of my Z4. The windows fogged up and OMG the streaks and smears were just horrible. I couldn't figure why the fogging was so bad until I got home and realized the floor mats and carpet were sopping wet - so much so I took the mats out and put them on blankets in the garage. It took three days for them to dry and the carpet to dry enough so I could put them back in the car but the inside of the car is still fogging horribly. My car is equipped with a function that will clear inside fog in a matter of seconds. Now I am running it constantly. And then we come to the "faded" seat. My car is garage kept and the leather seats have never been cleaned with anything other than an appropriate leather cleaner and conditioner. After seeing the seats in good sunlight I realized they had damaged the seat with some type of cleaner that dripped down the back of the seat and the entire seat is discolored and not uniformly. The other seat shows no signs of this problem. I am taking the car back to see what sort of resolution we can reach but I'm pretty sure this one is going to court. Please if you love you vehicle half as much as I do - and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my car don't take it to these people. read more

Bought their best detail package for my truck. It included clay bar, engine cleaning, etc. When I arrived they said it would be $25 more for pet hair and if I wanted the scratches removed from the interior dash it would be another $100. It took over 7 hours and looked terrible. The small scratches on the glove box were still there, the windows looked like they sprayed them with water and let them dry (guy said it was from acid rain), they said they took my rubber floor mats (I just bought four days prior) out and washed them though they were still dirty, my rims still were dirty in the crevices, my hood couldn't have been opened because nothing was done with engine at all, I removed my bed cover prior so that it could be cleaned and it couldn't have even been sprayed with water since there was still dirt all in it, there was obvious specs of dirt throughout the interior. Basically they took my money, sprayed the truck with a hose(excluding under the hood and bed), poured armourall on my dash, and then let it sit to dry for seven hours. They obviously have no idea what a detail cleaning means. I have had way better jobs done at drive through car washes where they wipe your windows afterwards and it cost a lot less. I will never return to empire and I highly recommend you spend your hard earned money somewhere that is professional. read more

When I went to get my car done, I sat in the waiting area for over 4 hours. No one told me what was going on or when to expect my car. Another lady also had the same issue. I thought it was because I was getting an extra service but she ended up being there for the same amount of time. The younger staff are nice but the owner/manager didn't seem too happy or welcoming. The car looked good, I was sold an extra buff in which the one side looked great, other side not so much. I was there for over four hours and they had their Puppy in the back room in a crate with no water. They took her out one time. I think that made it harder for me to sit there. Then had another friend have their car taken there (groupon) and they did a pretty good job but they left the rims and tires covered in the spray. I asked if it needed to be washed off and she said no. Then they were white and messy until the rain washed it off. I also asked if the puppy was there and they said no, not today. The main issue I have is the time frame and how they should say to drop the vehicle off, not sit and wait. This is my first car detail so I guess I'm not sure what to expect. I will go somewhere closer to home next time. read more

I received a Groupon for an executive detail and was really excited! After picking up the car when it was done, not so much. I had made arrangements to pick the car up after closing on a Saturday with the agreement that the shop would lock the key inside the vehicle. When I picked it up not only was my key NOT inside, but the windows were open which had allowed snow to accumulate in the vehicle, and the entire interior was SOAKING WET and reeked of chemicals. On top of all that the upholstery was still stained and some parts of the car hadn't even been touched. I am still trying to get in touch with the shop 2 days later and have filed a complaint with the BBB. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE! It is NOT a good deal!!! read more

I purchased $79 Groupon which was for what was supposed to be a $179 value. I was also charged $35 for pet hair, which I use an entire seat cover in the back of my car because I have a dog and I've only had him for 5 months. I've only had my car for one year, so it is still actually very clean considering I use it every day. The shine on my car was totally dull and I agree with that, however I believe that is from the pollen that comes off the trees where I live, as I have to get the same stuff off my white railings on my deck. Anyway I was told that would cost me an additional $125 to wash my car properly. I will say that my car does shine again, but totally not worth the additional $125, which was actually $145 after tax and bullshit fees. So now I'm in for the $79 Groupon and $35 pet hair fee and had to drop another $145 for a car wash. My tires weren't cleaned and all shinny. They had the dirty water on them that the car was washed in. There is no separate location between washing and cleaning out the car. Also they shampooed the carpet, which looks great, however they burned up my gas running my car with the heat on to dry the carpet. That's 100 miles worth of gas they burned out of my car. I would think they would have fans to place in the car to dry the carpet. I dropped my car off at 10am stating I'd be back at 4:15pm to pick it up. My car still wasn't done, however when I was dropped off nobody was working on it, but I did notice it was running. Six hours they had my car and my car wasn't finished. It took another hour before I got out of there. Again my car was not that dirty and would be considered clean by most people's standards. They made me feel as though I needed to clean my car before I brought it to them. I'll never waste my money and inconvenience to get my car detailed again, especially from this place. I thought this would be a nice treat for myself, but I am totally disappointed in this outcome. I'd never bother to do this again. Whoever gave this place a good review must be a good friend of the owner. If you walk in there with a Groupon you are treated as though you just don't matter and they'll find a way to get more money out of you. Don't go here. Wash and clean your car yourself. I took it back and pointed out the c obvious spots they missed(black dirt still on hood and trunk, crumbs in between seats, didn't even clean side and rear view mirrors at all) and they still gave the car back to me with the same spots. read more

I purchased their executive car detail service through livingsocial.com in September 2012....During the day of my appointment I dropped off my car at the Edgewood location and headed to work. Two hours after I dropped off the car I received a phone call from them telling me my rear view mirror had fallen off and offered no explanation on how it happened. When I went to pick up my car after work I noticed the mirror was ripped off the windshield in such force that it actually caused damage to the windshield. I was told by the manager that they were not going to fix the mirror as it must have been that way before I brought it in. To make a long story short Empire does not take responsibility for any damage they cause to your car and will weasel their way out of helping you get your car fixed. I was extremely pleased with the detailing job on my 2005 Camry XLE. I was having it prepped for sale, and they did a wonderful job. The car sold to the 1st person that came to look at it, though I had many calls on it after posting on Craigslist. A few spots on the outside needed to have the wax lightly removed afterwards, but it was not an issue. The clay bar removed impurities and the finish was as smooth as glass. read more

I have to say that Empire Auto Detailers are the best detailers I have ever used to date. This is the only place that I would allow to wash my black A8 and its still looks brand new one year later. They seem to go above and beyond to make your experience there satisfying. I highly recommend this business to everyone. Their prices are very reasonable. Appointments are met in a timely manner. I have yet to be disappointed with the cleanliness of any of the 3 vehicles I take to them weekly. Go once and you will be a customer for life. read more

I was excited about the offer on Groupon - I splurged on the $100 "executive" package - one for me and the other for my folks. It was a big waste of money. Right out the gate they wanted me to spend $75 more for some longer lasting wax. They also never exactly told me when the car would be ready and then called me an hour after they closed to tell me that I had 15 minutes to pick it up. If I was running late - they were going to leave the keys under the tire. I wasn't too thrilled about that. Overall though, the job wasn't that exceptional - I'd prefer to do it myself for now on and save the money. read more

Bought a group on detailing package which included the vacuuming, shampooing, cleaning of interior of car with the cleaning and waxing of exterior of car. When I arrived was approached to pay an additional $45 dollars because of stains on interior. I thought fair enough they were a few so rather than haggle I wanted my car to look as good as it could. Now if you have fabric interiors with stains do not waste your time with these guys, friendly and courteous they are the products they use were not sufficient and the stains look worse now than when i brought the car in. Did i mention i went in a second time for an additional 1/2 hr of time to work on the stains a week later, to no avail?!!! read more

Had an expire groupon worth $79 had to pay another $96 then before they started they called wanting more money I told them forget it I'll pick the car up They called back and said it was a computer mix up and they will detail the car. The seats were stained from bottled water and most of it was removed. But there is still dirt in the crevices of the interior. Also the exterior was not cleaned very well a good example is the car had a number written on 1 window from the dealership during service that number is still written on the window l was told by several people that they would automatically try to up sell me and the workmanship is not up to parr and they were all correct read more

I bought a groupon. I called them to set an appointment and the guy asked me how did I hear from them. I told him Groupon and he put me on hold to "so called check availability " and never picked the phone back up. I called back and he blocked my phone number. I was actually checking yelp cuz I need a detail, and came across this company and was so angry to see so many other people had the same experience as I did a few years ago and I felt obligated to also respond. This company is a scam. First called Empire, they changed name and location to Epic and then try to not honor groupons for "repeat" customers as if we're supposed to know they're the same scam company. They definitely do terrible work if you use a groupon, that is without a doubt. They upcharge you for the "size" of your vehicle regardless if that sizing makes any sense whatsoever. For example a pickup truck has FAR less interior space than an SUV, yet they charge it as an XL vehicle when an SUV is just an L, or some similar nonsense. This guy gave me a written quote prior to starting, then attempted to add $50 for the size after the fact. I refused to pay and he called the cops lol. When I tried to pay with a card just to get outta there he thought I'd try to dispute the charge so he literally broke his own card reader and demanded cash or he wouldn't return my key. It was pure insanity. The owner is a shady, deceptive, and an absolute jerk of a person, with an exceptional ego for a guy who cleans cars for a living. read more

I'm giving a true evaluation of the service Seriously Empire does a phenominal job for the price I paid. The staff is professional, mobile service is great but you better call about 3 weeks before you want your car cleaned. It seems the shop has next day appointments. Overall they do great. Completely professional. I bought two living social coupons for the mini express detail. I took advantage of the mobile for my wife. And I decided to go in shop being I was off that week. My wife and I rate the mobile a 4 star. Only due to the fact her appointment was two Weeks out and I was able to go in the shop that week. The service was OUTSTANDING . In shop was a great experience. I rate that a 5 star. Cable TV in the lobby and wifi. Felt comfortable while waiting for my car. Once my car was complete the Detailer went thru the check list and pointed out everything that was done. Great job I will be back.. read more

I usually do not put too much weight on the reviews of others but I should have listened. This was the first time using a groupon, and had paid for a $100 detailing. An hour into cleaning, they call and say its $100 extra because of pet hair. I have no pets. I wear no weave. There is no hair. They also said the truck was extra dirty, but why pay $100 for a detailing if the car is not filthy? What would I be paying you for, if the car is not dirty? I am completely upset and appalled by the lack of character and customer service. I will NOT pay you $100 dollars EXTRA to do the job I've already paid you for. I would definitely suggest going elsewhere. I will continue to post this review for all to see, so they can avoid Empire auto detailing. I would be better off going to Howard and 25th street detailing for a better job and half the price. read more

Terrible! I bought a groupon. It was impossible to schedule an appointment. Noone ever returned my calls. I finally scheduled one and the person never showed up. I phoned the number on the schedule confirmation email and it was no longer in service. Groupon did refund my money, but don't waist your time with this one. read more

Dropped off my car, was told that it would be an extra 25 since it was an suv and possibly an extra 25 for stains. I agreed and started up the road. About 15 minutes later they called me and said it was going to be an extra $70 on top of the groupon I had already bought. The groupon cost me $64. I told them that they should do it for the extra $50 they had told me when I dropped it off. They hung up on me. I called back and asked if they hung up on me and they said no, I'll leave to the reader about whether or not they were lying. I told them that I was already about a mile a way walking home and to go ahead, I would pay the additional $70. The person who the phone said hold on, then came back and said they refused to do the work. They had redeemed the groupon in August when I made the appointment, so basically they had my money for two months, then when it came time to do the job they pulled the old shuck and jive bullcrap. This happened at 2, I turned around got the car went home and did the job in about 2 hours. Do not trust these people to do anything they are hustlers and do not operate in good faith. read more

These folks have sold thousands of coupons on Groupon, Living Social and others. They have so much business now they can't possibly handle it. Their office phone is not monitored only provides an answering machine. This answering machine gets full and disconnects you at times. When / if you get a returned call it is hours or days later. When I finally got my returned call so I could set my appointment they were so booked I had to schedule it for 3 weeks out (first available). On the day and time I had scheduled for my appointment I took a day off of work and waited for them to arrive. They never arrived and after leaving 10+ messages on the answering machine I finally got through. The owner "Brian" was clueless why I got missed and could not explain it. Then he told me he would dig into it and call me back. An hour later his wife calls me to report I was missed and I told her I knew that and that I had told her husband. Neither of them was communicating with each other very disorganized and confused. The wife told me they were too busy, working too hard, couldn't find good help.....on and on. Finally Brian then called me back to re-schedule my appointment for ANOTHER 3 WEEKS OUT!! I asked for an extra level of service for the inconvenience and my lost time at work. Brian then became belligerent, cussing me like a drunk sailor and hung up on me. I washed my hands from these rude non responsive people and got a refund from Living Social. BEWARE!!!! I purchased a Groupon for an Executive Auto Detailing and was left with buyers remorse, to say the least. The first sign of trouble was when they didn't have me in the system for my appointment that I made two weeks prior. Just like a sales person, they suggested other services for an additional charge, which I don't mind, but please do the job that you were paid to do. I was told that they could remove surface scratches from my car, but many of those scratches were still present. My carpet still had debri on it and dirt or excess wax was left on my one of my windshield wiper blades. My detail was suppose to include cleaning the inside jams of my doors, but was not done. They told me my car would be ready at 2:00 and that they would call me. Well, they didn't call me and when I called them they told me that they were running behind and that it would be another hour. Another hour later, they called me and said it wouldn't be ready for another hour and a half. Just to recap on the time; I dropped my car off at 11:00am and my car wasn't ready until 4:30pm. All I can say is ridiculous. For the job they performed, I could have just gone to the the car wash and it would have been cheaper. This was my first detail and my last. read more

TERRIBBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!!!! do NOT use this establishment!!!!! Used Groupon, my husband and myself - he was was "upsold" for a special buffing/coating, they told him that the roughness if you felt the paint was caused by car washes - and they only did HALF the car!!! You could feel it immediately when you ran your hand over it (which of course he did not do until we were home. Inside, it looked like they ran the vacuum and then just wiped Armor All over everything (dust/dirt included) and left it that way to look shiny when you first see it. It was like an oil slick inside!!! Then when it dried, there was a very heavy white residue from it and heavy streaks where it ran and dripped down. I guess that is just the way they do it because both cars were the same. So essentially the next day we each spent about 2-3 hours cleaning the insides of the cars to get all of the residue off. It dripped down into areas where you could see and were hard to get to also. They did NOT touch the inside of my husband's rear window, not at all. Would NOT return NOR recommend this place!!!!!!! read more

Extremely unprofessional. The other shop on APG does awful work and service. Paid 240 dollars for a job that can be done with a sponge and bucket at home. Promised to even spray out the bed of a truck and didn't even get that done. Dashboard spray still splattered on windshield, debris still on all paint areas. Joke. Adult left the truck with 2 younger guys who had no care to make a customer happy and it showed. I'm a big tipper and the way I was treated on the phone and even the fact that directions and website are awful while opening or responding 30 mins after opening I left none because I already paid 200 too much. Really a shame they represent the Edgewood shop who handled themselves much better. If you choose to risk using these guys def don't go to their fake shops they have elsewhere. They WILL disappoint you. I will def be spreading this word around the Aberdeen grounds for. This place and whatever business they consider this. I deserve 3 extra washes just to make up for this one but know I'll hear nothing. Lesson learned... read more
