Shirt winner!
Kellie D.

My family and I went here for my birthday -- my first time axe throwing! Husband had been before but my sons and son's girlfriend had not. The employee helping us was great. He gave us tips until we were able to throw well. I went from not being able to get it on the board to hitting the bullseye. He also came up with fun competitions for us and eldest son was thrilled to beat us all and win a shirt. The hour flew by. We all had fun and would do it again.

When having a team outing, this works great as there are good & drinks right there. Has about 4 lanes so massive crowds don't work but definitely a fun time.

I've belonged to a lot of gyms and this Life Time is the best. It's like a fitness resort! There's…read moresomething for everyone here, and fitness equipment I've never seen before. There are numerous classes that are serious workouts. Yoga, hot yoga, stretch, etc. I'm not a swimmer, but if I was I think the swim facilities are second to none, both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor pool is awesome, and will serve adult beverages, which is a nice option. There's steam, sauna, whirlpool, and a clean and well stocked locker room. I joined as soon as I could and was there on day one. Love this place! Finally, shout out to Courtney, who is always there with a smile and exuberant hello.

I love the group fitness classes and I love that you reserve your spot in advance. They also just started a new Core Tone Reform class with reformers for regular members, and that class kicks your butt! I also really enjoy the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzis. Another benefit is the kids membership. My stepdaughter loves coming to the kids club for gymnastics, rock climbing, yoga, and more. I know that she is having fun while I'm doing a class. They have Parents Night Out on the weekends and that's such a nice perk! There's also day camps, which has saved us a few times when we needed child care during a school break. The pool is also wonderful in the summertime. The cafe food is average. I'd love it if the quality was amped up just a bit. The only thing I really ever get is the vegan PB& B shake. It's delicious! It has peanut butter, banana, cafe mocha greens, almond milk, and vegan protein powder. I haven't been to the salon yet, but it's great that this is an option. Overall, I love this gym and I would go every day if I could.

When I started working in RTP I started playing soccer at this facility (when it was called…read moreCarolina Sportsplex). I took a break from indoor soccer while playing for outdoor league and I didn't come back to NetSports until this winter (Winter 2010). The facilities are still as I remember them -- no big changes after the change in ownership. They implemented a new online system for handling registration, payment, scheduling and team management that I think works quite well. The captain basically registers the team with a deposit and each player can then register and pay their share until the full team balance is paid in full. As a former organizer of a team, I was really pleased with the new system. They have different fields/rinks for different sports. I think soccer and volleyball are the most popular (these are what I typically see when I am there to play soccer). The two indoor turf fields are quite spacious. There's plenty of room to run around and it is very easy to tire yourself (that's a good thing). The referees are very professional and courteous. They do a good job keeping the games on schedule. If you like to play volleyball or indoor soccer, then you'll like this place. Find the division that matches your skill level. Try to get on a "house" team or maybe ask the staff to try to place you on a team that is looking for players. If you're a female or like to play in goal then your chances of getting on a team are quite good. If you know some players that want to join a team, then maybe start your own. Oh, this place is MUCH better than XL Soccer World in Raleigh. When you have a game at NetSports you will know that the fields will always be the same size -- not so at XL Soccer World. As a team manager, I can tell you that the staff at XL Soccer World were very unfriendly and difficult to communicate with. Staff at NetSports have always been friendly -- they do a good job behind-the-scenes and in-person. This place makes me happy -- especially during the winter when I can't play outdoors.

Our son reported that kids were left to watch unsupervised YouTube Shorts for long periods, some of which included very disturbing content. More alarmingly, the pickup process is a major security risk. The front desk staff seemed completely indifferent to the children gathered in the corner, and there appeared to be no protocol to prevent a child from leaving with a stranger. If you are looking for a camp that prioritizes child safety and active engagement, I would highly suggest looking elsewhere.

Typically I will head over to my local park and play with other strangers, but when it got cold outside I turned to Peak Sports to give me the space to play during the winter. Peak is a facility in Apex that hosts both pickleball and badminton. I don't play badminton, so I will focus on the pickleball. There are seven pickleball courts within Peak, with two of the seven usually being held for small group reservations. Throughout the day, all of the other courts have general open play, where you bring your own paddle and play pick up games with friends or strangers. Peak uses a phone app to monitor and control the amount of people within the facility, so that a good flow of games occur. The courts themselves are relatively below average when it comes to indoor facility courts. Instead of the traditional outdoor feel, Peak uses a rolled out mat that acts as their court. It is more slick, so I am more prone to slipping on the court, plus the texture of the court makes it so that the ball has extra spin on fast hits. For a real feel outdoor court in an indoor facility, I would point to Pin Point in Raleigh for that. The best thing about Peak in my opinion is the community of players there. All of the staff is really nice and I have met some of my best pickleball friends here. Peak also offers various classes, leagues and tournaments so that you can consistently improve. I would say that a lot of my recent growth as a player has come from playing at Peak. You have the option to become a member here starting at around $89/month, or you can pay every time you want to join an Open Play session. While I wouldn't say that Peak is the absolute best indoor facility for pickleball, it has given me lots of opportunities for improvement and a place to play to avoid the frigid temperatures!
