I found out about Active Edge Physical Therapy from a friend or mine who had great results with that group and so I made an appointment with Chris Woods one of their physical therapists. I have to say this was the best experience and especially the most beneficial treatment I have had for my sciatica. I no longer have the "killer" pain running down my right leg and I have cut back significantly with the pain medication I had been taking. Chris identified my problem right away and began using deep movements, stretching, and strengthening to address the problem. Moreover, the home exercises he prescribed empowered me to improve my problem over a short amount of time and significantly improved my "body awareness." I continue to use these easy at-home exercises on a regular basis; they are life-long lessons that Chris provided specifically for my particular issue. Chris made the sessions both fun and educational too! I have to say too, that the front counter staff at AEPT are wonderful! They provided a complete report of what my insurance would cover BEFORE I started the treatment and were very pleasant to work with. Their facility is located in the beautiful Willamette Historic District in West Linn. I can't thank them enough for the the improvements they have made in my life and especially Chris Woods, thanks Chris you are wonderful!!! I looked at several gyms in West Linn - Lake Oswego area and found the best value at Fit For Life…read more What turned me on to FFL was that they offer very reasonable prices, all classes are free to attend, and you pay month to month. You are not locked into any long term memberships that I found at other gyms. When it comes to equipment they offer all the things you need. Plenty of cardio machines, free weights, and circuit training. They have a large number of TVs as well. Overall FFL is my recommendation for a no frills gym that offers excellent value for your money. I don't think you will be able to find other gyms that compete on this level in the area.

This is a small but very well-kept gym right across the street from Market of Choice. Even though the place is not that big and the basement-like location=no windows, there are plenty of machines, weights, medicine balls, etc. I usually never have to wait for a treadmill. The bathrooms & machines are spotless, the staff is really nice, and I just get a good feeling after working out here. There are free yoga/pilates/aerobic etc classes you can take, so check out their schedule. Times to avoid: 4-6PM. Lots of after-work folks here during this time. The one downside of going to a small, locally owned gym: really limited hours. They close at 9, which is fine during the summer when I have plenty of time, but other times, I prefer to work out late at night!

I have yet to be in a class where we didn't do something that I have not done in any previous class, so lots of variation. The club is very clean. The lights are soothing and the music soft, so I close my eyes and it is very relaxing. The only thing I would like to see changed is the policy that if you miss a class earlier in the day (I get sudden onset migraines) and there are openings for a class later the same day, to have a 'stand-by' policy so you can show up and if there is an open machine at the start of class, you can attend. I was very frustrated the first month they opened because every class had a long wait list and I only was able to attend 2 classes in the month. They have been adding classes, so even though most of the classes have a waitlist, I have always gotten in. I also attend classes during the day, which are Iess likely to fill. I just hope they don't oversell memberships and it goes back to being hard to get into a class.

There is rarely anyone at the front desk, and there doesn't appear to be a manager or owner who is actually available to resolve issues. Emails routinely go unanswered, and I've had to follow up multiple times over the course of months just to get basic responses. The most frustrating part is that these are not one-time mistakes. The lack of communication and follow-through appears to be a systemic management problem. I've belonged to other Club Pilates locations and had a very different experience, so this is not a criticism of Club Pilates as a whole. My concern is specifically with the management and ownership of this location. If you're considering joining, I would recommend looking into who owns and manages the studio before signing up. The instructors may be great, but when you need help with billing, account issues, or anything requiring management involvement, you may find yourself waiting a very long time for a response.

A co worker was kind enough to bring them in for free chair massages and consultations. In ten minutes their massage therapist removed three knots in my shoulders. I might mention I have tried every type of massage and never had someone that good....ten minutes??!! I decided to give them a go. After just two appointments to diagnose me (which were both free) and two regular appointments I am already very impressed. My back has felt better than it has in years and both the doctors are amazing. They genuinely care about me as a person and make certain I am comfortable with my treatments and knowledgeable about the process. They listen to me and adjust my treatments based on my actual state of being and preferences. The rest of the staff are all super friendly, helpful and also care from the ladies at the front desk to the massage therapists as well. I scheduled a month worth of appointments and then proceeded to lose the schedule. I emailed their office and had it in my email box within an hour! I wish all places were this easy and wonderful to deal with!

There's many things to love about this place but there's also a few drawbacks I've noticed with…read moretime. My 3 year old has been taking the junior 1 classes for a couple months. This is the first time they've ever taken swim lessons before so everything has been new to both our child and me as a parent. The set-up inside is nice and clean with plenty of changing rooms. I have been a little annoyed that the parent viewing area only has a few seats in front of the lane our child is swimming in, and if someone else is already there, you have to watch at a distance where you can't clearly see your child from. My child has mostly taken classes with Olivia who seems great with children and a very patient person. She will remember things my child is uncomfortable with; dunking their whole head underwater for example; and take things slow so they're not traumatized. My child's class size is clearly explained on the website, with a maximum of 4 kids to 1 teacher. This seemed like an agreeable thing when we signed up, however it's something that both my spouse and I have become concerned with over time. We've observed that during the short 30 minute class, our kid is only receiving a fraction of that time (5-10 minutes) being taught something meaningful. The teacher is too busy taking turns with the other kids while the other children just sit on the side waiting. I wish I'd looked into private or 1:1 lessons from the beginning. It is unknown to me if West Linn offers this option, but it seems to me that it would be well worth an additional cost. We wound up withdrawing our little one from this school recently because we decided it isn't quite worth the time it takes to leave the house, especially when our child isn't receiving the attention they need to seriously progress in learning to swim. Ending on a good note, I do appreciate that if your kid is absent and you call it in, they will give you a token to use in the future to make up that missed class. I also appreciated how kind each of the staff members were each time we spoke to them, especially Brandy.

This place is amazing!…read more My 3 year old started swim lessons a couple of months ago. Prior to starting the team there helped me with registering for a class. This included texting me to see what my best options were for days/times. As well as updating me when a new class time was available that would work for us better. Everyone who works there is so accommodating and kind! As a working mom it really helped me stay on top of registering without forgetting. The classes are continuous which I haven't encountered before. They go once a week and when they're ready they can move up to the next class level. My daughter is in class with her cousin and they absolutely ADORE Teacher Olivia. They talk about her often and are always excited to go see her at school. They have 4 kids total in their class. All with different personalities and temperaments. I am always impressed with Olivia as she manages all of them while going through the skills with each kid. Occasionally another teacher will join her as well. They do such fun and cute stuff with the kids. Like they will go for a high five and when the kid high fives them the teacher will fly back in the water like the kid has super strength. Little things like that. At the end of class they go over what the kids are doing well and what could use improvement. I really appreciate the trust Olivia has built with the girls. When they're ready to move up to the next class I hope they can still have her as a teacher! The facility is great. The pool area is super warm! Don't wear a thick coat or sweater when bringing your kid in to the pool. The water is warm too as daughter doesn't complain about the pool being cold. All the bathrooms and changing rooms are always clean. They provide soap to wash off. There's a surfboard the kids can sit on while we dry their hair after class. They provide hair dryers and it all feels v bougie and special for the kids. There's snacks for sale and the kids get a free trinket almost every class. Like a keychain or a bathtub floaty goldfish. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for swim lessons for their kids!
