Inside there were a number of appealing items from vintage ties to china bric a brac and from books to home decor. In every corner was a potential collectible or cherished antique. We had fun browsing and my husband even found something to buy. It's either a unique gift for his cousin or he might keep it himself. The owner was quite personable. He mentioned that they do estate sales and removals. I commented on a number of small cat statues that they'd been given and he gave me the history behind them.

All the items are identified and tagged. They are displayed beautifully with spaces between so you can easily see each one. This place has so many intriguing and interesting things that it will definitely require another visit. Each time we looked at a different corner, we noticed something we'd missed the first time. There's lots of bric a brac, household decorations, art work, and China. There are valuable antique items mixed in, too. We stopped by enroute to lunch, so we didn't spend as long as we'd have liked to do so. But I did find one small item cute enough to take home with me. It's near the Blue Anchor Pub, just before you go over the Intracoastal on your way to the beach. A Blast From the Past is owned by Dee Ziemba and it is made up of two boutiques, a couture boutique in front of the store selling designer handbags, shoes, clothing, and accessories, and a vintage boutique in the back with costume jewelry, hats, and collectibles. There was so much interesting art and beautiful porcelain but my favorite part of the store was the costume jewelry. It reminded me of all the time I spent looking through my grandmas jewelry box. I loved examining all of the gorgeous enamel pins and earrings that used to adorn the classiest of ladies. I also loved a Chanel bag and a really cool pair of Gucci sunglasses. Since they formed in 2005, they have distributed 70 million pounds of food. RBI Thrift is located in the old Sears in Boynton Beach Mall. You enter from the outside, not from inside the mall. I discovered RBI while visiting Dillard's Clearance Center, also in the mall. One thing to note, there is no air conditioning. To their credit, the people who work here are somehow able to maintain a cheerful disposition despite the miserable heat. The store inventory is a mixture of new items donated by their corporate partners and used thrift items donated by the general public. I saw furniture, hone decor, plant and garden supplies, pet supplies, toys, kids clothing, art, shoes, sunglasses, accessories, bags, and beauty and drugstore supplies. Prices range from $1 to the several hundred dollars. I found a cute little rabbit dish from Pier One for only $2. I also purchased a brand new in the box microcurrent facial toning device and a microdermabrasion kit. Both were marked $10 but I only paid $5 each at checkout. They are both going for $50 all over the internet. I am excited to try them both out. If you enjoy bargain hunting I recommend checking out RBI where the proceeds go to a really great cause.
