It's near the Blue Anchor Pub, just before you go over the Intracoastal on your way to the beach. A Blast From the Past is owned by Dee Ziemba and it is made up of two boutiques, a couture boutique in front of the store selling designer handbags, shoes, clothing, and accessories, and a vintage boutique in the back with costume jewelry, hats, and collectibles. There was so much interesting art and beautiful porcelain but my favorite part of the store was the costume jewelry. It reminded me of all the time I spent looking through my grandmas jewelry box. I loved examining all of the gorgeous enamel pins and earrings that used to adorn the classiest of ladies. I also loved a Chanel bag and a really cool pair of Gucci sunglasses. Styles include vintage, classic, contemporary, and retro designs. Here you will mid century modern, traditional, contemporary, vintage, and Rocco home furnishings. Designer names include Baker, Henredon, Maitland Smith, Murano, Saporiti, Milo Baughman and Pace. I recently visited their 11,000 square foot showroom and was impressed with the eclectic inventory. Items that peaked my interest included a giant American flag made out of plastic toys, lucite chairs, a bed that was so high off the floor you would need stairs to get to it, and mosaic Chinese dragons. Prices are not cheap but the items are one of a kind. The items are sold here on consignment and they are willing to work with you on the price. Inside, there are a lot of women's clothing -- nicely sorted by size -- shoes, and scarves, etc. There's a separate rack for Chico's brand clothing -- again sorted by sizes. Plus a lot more purses and wallets. No men's clothes, however. On the top shelves, there's some brick a brac. Plus a small separate room in the back has some China and collectibles. There's also assorted jewelry. And a couple bargain baskets of $1 and $3 items to dig through. We wound up getting a few things for the grand daughter from the baskets. Everything is neatly arranged and the store is easy to navigate. And the lady manning the desk was quite pleasant.
