The doctor is terrific! She listened and helped get rid of warts on my child's hands, when no other doctor was able!

Updating an old review as this continues to be a great doctors office if I may say so. I went to…read moreDr. Waters growing up here, and flash forward a few decades and our kids see Dr. Ragsdale. Everything has been great so far. Parking: Adjacent garage that's usually easy to get a spot in, despite being a congested area with hospitals around. The elevators in the garage look the exact same as when I was a kid and that's not necessarily a good thing. Definitely not made for the claustrophobic; I take the stairs even when hauling my little chubster in a car seat. Office: Nice, friendly and efficient. I've yet to wait well beyond my appointment time. Hours: Another plus, they have weekend hours although we haven't had to take them up on the offer yet. Quality: Top-notch. Great doctors across the board and a place you can trust. While we're fortunate to have only had to go here for check-ups and shots, it's been a five star experience so far and it was an easy decision to come here. The only universal law is that you're bound to catch some kinda germ or bug in the lobby here in the winter, so wash your hands!

This is a lie because all COVID testing for st Luke's is done at 4400 Broadway right now. All of the patients here and doctors and staff are exposed to COVID 19 patients in the common areas and parking garage. The staff at pediatric associates does not think this is a problem at all and were quite rude. They said it was the business of the building manager and st Luke's if they have testing in the same building.

My Baby has her flu shot last April 8, 2018 and her doctor advised us to have her follow up flu shot after a month and was also advice that no need to set an appointment coz it can be done even when you walk-in. My husband's lunch is only 30minutes so he needs to ask his Boss and tell him that he will be late to come back. We planned to bring our almost 9months old Baby today at 1pmish since it is my dayoff and since I do not drive yet my husband picks us up. But prior to go there my husband told me to still make an appointment but the person i talked with on the phone again told me no need for an appointment. Unfortunately, when we arrive in their office and check-in with the oldest(I think) staff there today and told me that they do not have stocks for the said dosage. oh really???? Then I ask her again how come you do not have stock knowing you have in your records that my daughter has a follow up flu shot one month after April 8, 2019 and the office should spare one for her then she said in a very snotty way when we are out of stock we are out of stocks" and our next stocks will be in Septemeber 2019 on which too way far for my daughter to have her follow up flu shot. And she is not even helpful when i ask her if we can do it in other clinic. Second, when I called their office about setting an appointment to make sure that we can be accommodated even walk in and told me no need which she said no need to set then I gave her my daughter's date of birth. By then after the staff pull out my daughter' file she can see actually if they still have a stocks and should advise me so no need to jeopardize my husbands lunch. But no, she didn't advice me. So our plan now is to request for all my daughters record coz we will be moving to other pediatric office. Can't take their customer service staff anymore the fact that its a pediatric clinic they(front desk) should be as friendly as they should. What a terrible experience.

Perhaps I am biased as I work at the Med Center - but I highly recommend KU Peds for general…read morepediatrics and the sub-specialties that they cover. I was very excited when I was pregant because I knew my kid would get the best care and she does. She is 8 mos old now and we have obviously had many appointments, the wait time is not long and while waiting you can read books, have a book read to you by a Reach Out and Read volunteer, check out the fishtank or play on the awesome bilingual carpet (learn spanish and english). When your child is getting measured and weighed they can enjoy entertainment by Elmo and once we get in the room watch out you are in for a treat. KU Peds offers a parent educator - who can completely entertain the child while waiting for the doc - all the while evaluating her/his development and talking with the parent about issues. I have found this service completely invaluable. Once the doc enters the room the child gets a book courtesy of Reach Out and Read (even at one month Samantha was focused enough to pick one out and we still read or look at those books today) The doc throughly evaluates the child and will answer any and all questions you have. They are fantastic! I completely appreciate the time spent with me, my baby and my husband. After the evaluation a clinic nurse will come to the room and my child has gotten plenty of TLC before, during and after her shots from the nurse. Everytime we have a visit we look forward to it and I think you too will find the quality care you are looking for!

Our pediatrician was fine but I'm pretty sure she left the practice months ago, which we were not notified of and no one has been returning nurseline calls, or one person called saying they had no idea what the answer was and they'd call back the following day (no call back). They even have the audacity to blame my phone as the reason, when I have a new iPhone and no other problems missing calls. The nurses are a mixed bag, some were incredibly rude to me and treated me like I was just doctor shopping or wasn't planning to have them be my primary care, which was very presumptious. I reported this to the head nurse. I have had other nurses be training a nurse during an appt, while yelling and belittling them. Definitely not appropriate for a doctors appt decorum. I can never seem to get a call back or be able to schedule appts. This whole practice needs a consultation frankly about how to run operations. ku is letting kids fall through the cracks.

Be aware of outpatient facility charges at Children's Mercy specialty clinics…read more I scheduled what I believed would be a routine dermatology appointment and was asked to pay my specialist copay at check-in. At no point was I informed that the visit would also be billed as an outpatient hospital service with a $953 facility charge. My insurance applied this charge to my deductible, leaving me responsible for an unexpected bill of approximately $570. If I had been told before my appointment that a routine dermatology visit would include a hospital facility charge in addition to the physician's services, I would have had the opportunity to decide whether I could afford the visit or seek care elsewhere. My concern is not that Children's Mercy bills as an outpatient hospital, but that patients should be clearly informed before their appointment that this billing method may result in significantly higher out-of-pocket costs. Asking patients to pay only a specialist copay at check-in can create the impression that the visit will be billed like a standard specialist office visit. Before scheduling a specialty appointment at Children's Mercy, I recommend asking whether the visit includes an outpatient hospital facility charge and contacting your insurance company to understand how those charges will be covered. That information could help you avoid an unexpected bill.

At another point he said that no vaccine would ever hurt my child. As someone who was vaccine injured and deals with the repercussions of that injury every day, this was very jarring to hear. He has not once provided informed consent to us the entire time we have been at this practice since my son was born. It is not ethical to say that vaccines pose no risk and no doctor can honestly promise that nothing is going to happen because that is not in their control. The lying an intense pushback against parents who are simply looking to do what is best for their children makes me reconsider all vaccines. We are a family that accepts 95% of the recommended vaccines and now I will be digging deeper into all of their inserts and making decisions about what is best for my family because that is my job.
