Waterstone was rather new at that point but, comparing it to the other facilities that we looked at, and comparing the costs, we felt that this facility, its staff, the programs - and the food! - made Waterstone the best value and the best fit. Now, four years later, we are happy with the experience our Mom has had at Waterstone. She is suffering from some progressive dementia, and so requires an increasing level of care, but the Waterstone staff has been accommodating and supportive. There is a personal touch to everything, and we rest well knowing that our Mom is well cared for. The programs and events are sophisticated and stimulating - and the staff are open to suggestions for more types of events. We ourselves often visit, eat with our Mom, and attend events with her. We are on a first-name basis with a number of staff members. The facility is ample and is well laid out to encourage social interaction - if Mom doesn't feel up to going out, she still doesn't feel "cooped up" or isolated if she stays inside. She makes use of the library/living room and of the public areas every day. We also like the location - right off of Route 128, behind Wellesley Hills shopping, but tucked away, and adjacent to the Charles River and its walking paths, a footbridge and beautiful foliage. The community of residents is interesting and stimulating. And, in talking casually with other residents and their families, we have found that most are also happy with Waterstone, and it is a supportive residential community. We have highly recommended Waterstone to others looking for assisted living accommodations for their loved ones, and we will continue to do so.

These are not nursing homes and I fear they are being left uncared for as they always say they "can't provide 24 hour care". Are they doing it now? Why are there so many cases? Document every incident and file grievences because they make sure those incidents do not have a computerized data based system that stores nor is there a requirement that staff log in any complaints when they happen. If you are not of sound mind or have any mental heath issues they will take advantage of you! Make sure you have family members, friends or even better an Attorney on speed dial, if you don't not have an Avocate, you are a prime target for their bottomline - to make money off of you. They care about one thing and it will not be you! They get minus 5 stars!!!

The facility is quiet and quite clean and pleasant. Luckily, Stinky got a room to himself even though it was a room for two patients. Wicked lucky! The nursing care was quite good and attentive for the most part. The nurse that worked during the day was very good, and am sorry, forgot her name. The nurses that worked during the evening shifts were awesome. RN,s Ed and Martin could not have been nicer and more attentive to the cranky old dude. The only slight downside was that a few of the aides were not all that great and a bit difficult, but most were ok. They did seem to work hard though. Stinky knows it is not the easiest job. They PT staff were very nice and were very good with their skills. The food was actually quite decent though and they seemed to want to please. That being said, Stinky would not want to spend another two weeks here if he didn't have to, but if he did have to he would put this at the top of the list of placement preferences.

Then, leadership decided to expand, causing years of disruption to current residents that continue today. They were asked for their input and it was largely ignored. In an effort to keep up with nearby for-profit independent living facilities, this non-profit has become indistinguishable from them--with one important exception: the staff remain exceptional. That's why this review gets two stars instead of one. But the leadership has made decisions that, in our experience, prioritize profit over community and the health and welfare of residents. When the project is finally complete, it may well be a gleaming palace but at a real cost.

The general…read morelow-down is as follows: -Terry, the general manager, is friendly, outgoing, and around to take care of things as necessary. -The front desk folks have been cranky and ill tempered once or twice, but I guess that's life. -More importantly, the PTs I work with, Jeff and his minion Mary Kate, are doing awesome by me. A little history: I worked with a PT only once before. There was a misdiagnosis that wasn't the PT's fault, but nonetheless, the frustration of an injury that didn't heal left me a bit wary of PTs in general. You *have* to do PT after ACL surgery, so I stuffed my wariness into a little box in my closet, and, buoyed by my surgeon's confidence in Train Boston and a friend/mentor's confidence in Jeff's work, I signed up for PT. Confidence restored. Jeff and Mary Kate explain everything, answer all my questions patiently (and probably repeatedly), and keep me from doing stupid things without getting tetchy about the fact that I do stupid things once in a while. They're doing an admirable job working with me to get back to BJJ and Judo. This has included acting as demonstration dummies (which is like volunteering to be a jungle gym for a monkey on meth) and getting feedback from me regarding things to focus on. I like the emphasis on communication and the chance to contribute to my rehab plan, instead of orders handed down from on high. Everybody seems to have their own rendition of "PT sucks." Even my PT friends joke that the acronym stands for "pain and torture." Frankly, my PT sessions have been notable for the absence of pain and torture. Yes, I sweat. And yes, occasionally I'll get overzealous doing my at-home exercises and show up for PT with a limp, a whine, and a silent fear that I've ruined everything and I might as well cut it all off and get a wooden peg installed instead. But the crying and swearing that everyone promised would be in the offing? Not thus far.

The CNA's have an attitude and are quite lazy in carrying out their responsibilities. The CNA's are lacking professionalism and care towards the elderly residents. The food has no taste and the portion sizes have steadily decreased. In addition the food is served cold there is nothing worse than cold bland food. Unfortunately at this time I couldn't recommend Wingate to anyone at this time.

She was available any time of day- I remember she texted me back late one night and I said- aren't you off duty? She said "I am never off duty" and that proved to be true. I've used the transport/ride services several times and Abundant Concierge has been a life saver…read more I've had several procedures done with conscious sedation and the hospital requires an escort to come and pick you up in person to transport you home. I have limited support and so I relied on Abundant, usually Tim was the escort assigned. He understands that the timing of discharge is never predictable, there may be delays -he's accommodating to last minute changes. Last time after surgery I didn't know if I'd be discharged directly home or to a rehab facility, the hospital wouldn't tell me in advance. We had several phone conversations over a period of days and Tim was very patient and understanding about the constant change in directions from the hospital. Always pleasant to deal with. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I needed someone to escort me home from outpatient surgery and was really in a jam: I didn't have…read moreany local friends or family whom I could ask to take off half a day, deal with parking, driving into the city, deal with hospital delays, etc., and the hospital wouldn't let me leave in an Uber/Lyft. It was looking like my outpatient surgery (scheduled three months before) would need to be rescheduled simply because I didn't have a ride home. For someone mentally preparing for scheduled surgery, this was very stressful. Luckily someone on administrative staff put me in touch with Tim at Abundant HHC, who was able to pick me up the following day (less than a day's notice... above and beyond!). Abundant's services passed the "hospital test" because they will not only drive you home but also help you in to your home/apartment. Given my situation (finding a medical escort who could accommodate my needs, or rescheduling my appointment), I found Abundant's charges very reasonable. Tim promised to be available at my scheduled discharge time (1pm) and was still available for my actual discharge (2.5 hours later) when surgery got delayed. Tim was a lifesaver and a great guy, to boot! I'd recommend him to anyone in my situation. Thank you, Tim and Abundant HHC!
