It makes a difference in the attitude of the patient if they have family and friends involved in their daily schedule. It can get lonely at a nursing home. We made sure that photos from home and cheerful items were in the room. There are daily activities (arts and crafts, games) that patients can participate in. The meals are personalized for each patient (health issues, vegetarian or not, heart healthy, diabetes, etc). A shuttle is available to take patients to appointments. The doctor was nice and outgoing. He explained things in layman's terms and did a great job of making my friend feel included in medical decisions.

The other one is antibiotic happy (prescribed me antibiotics for chronic migraines and then said that allergies were causing my migraines without any other symptoms pointing to migraines as well as told me that allergies were the reason my lymph nodes and tonsils were chronically swollen for 3 years but then I saw an ENT in Richmond that told me they were the worst case of infection he's ever seen and I suffered from sleep apnea for 3 years because of it.) Thanks to dr Christian I had to go through a surgery where they discovered the infection in my tonsils was so bad it caused scar tissue to grow into the muscles of my neck. He has a doctorate degree and did an excellent in office removal of a benign lump in my abdomen which saved me lots of out of pocket $$$ if done outpatient surgery. He also recommend a colonoscopy for some chronic symptoms I was again having problems with and it turned out to be CANCER. He does treat anxiety/depression within the allowable amounts for those suffering from the conditions and if someone needs help beyond their care then they need to see a specialist...called a psychiatrist. Family Doctors are like General Surgeons of care they treat a variety of illnesses and are not specialized in one area. If care is not treatable at their level they will refer you to specialist. I trust these doctors.

I had a concerning medical issue come on suddenly and I felt like I needed to see my PCP as quickly…read moreas possible to avoid any long lasting effects from what I thought was wrong. I was going to go to an Urgent Care but thought if I could get an appointment that same day or the next I should probably go see my PCP. I called the office as soon as they opened to see if I could get in and was told there had been a cancellation and I could be there in the next 2 hours. That was a big relief. When I got there I didn't have to wait too long to be called back. After he came in and I explained what was going on he was very dismissive and acted like I was wasting his time for being there. He was in the room less than 10 minutes total and basically told me to go home and take a vitamin and eat better. He looked at some lab results I had taken just 2 days prior because I had an annual checkup already scheduled for the next week. He said he didn't see anything wrong in my bloodwork either. Later that day the issue I had seen him for started to spread to other areas of my body and I ended up in the ER because of it. Also after reviewing all of my bloodwork results from the ones taken just 2 days prior there were some things that were showing that there really was a bigger problem going on. I have decided that I will not be using him as my PCP in the future. He has a lot of 5 star reviews and only 5 star reviews. But after reading through them even the other patients who pretty much reported the same behavior from him it showed 5 stars. There is definitely something off about that. There is no way a patient treated like we were wasting his time coming to him with our petty problems would leave a 5 star reviews. That just made me not trust him even more. No doctor only has 5 star reviews So, I will have to try and find a new doctor who will actually care about their patients and be respectful to them.
