I had an appointment up the road and came back after I was done. I had left a message with my dog's dermatologist regarding a supplement (Adored Beast) recommended by the salesman at Well Bred. I had some questions regarding antlers. My dogs had 2 different experiences from 2 different sources. The first pair of antlers broke after 2 or so weeks. The second pair never broke but have worn down significantly. I mentioned that the previous antlers were whole and approximately 7-8 inches long. He asked, "How large are the dogs?", "Are they aggressive chewers?" A puppy, 35 lbs..., and a 2-year-old, 55 lbs. They are aggressive chewers, in my opinion. The man suggested split antlers in the largest size, "more bang for the buck," he added. I happily paid the exorbitantly high price of $80 and change for the pair. Fortunately, I monitored them while they worked on the antlers. Approximately 10 minutes later, they had each broken huge, pointy shards off the antlers. This is not normal. The price aside, why would Well Bred sell something so potentially dangerous? Why would anyone be encouraged to buy something that could have very well landed my dogs in the emergency room? I called the next day and spoke to a woman I believe to be the manager. She apologized profusely and suggested maybe I should consider a more appropriate chew object for my dogs. Oh really? That's why I came to your store and had a lengthy discussion with your sales person. The last antlers I bought NEVER broke. I was told they are not supposed to. I no longer trust the advice of the sales help at Well Bred on any topic. The star is for a neat and clean store.

I wanted to give PUP PURRI GROOMERS the benefit of the doubt so I agreed.. After waiting 7 hours for what I thought was a grooming I called back only to find out he was never groomed which is beyond CRAZY! When I called and questioned what was taking so long and that 7 hours had passed, the owner Rob got very nasty on the phone and explained that just because I was the first one to drop off my dog at 8a he wouldn't be groomed first...THIS IS A VERY UNUSUAL PROCEDURE. Every groomer I have ever used in NJ and Florida would honor your appointment and within an hour maybe two I would get a call to pickup my dogs..( I had two poms at that time and they were still groomed faster!) I then received a call from Amy the groomer, she spewed the same thing and said older dogs would be groomed first, or whoever complains the most would get their dog first! The owner Rob came out with my dog who wasn't groomed, he was suppose to be washed, shaved , lions mane, and nails clipped....What I thought was also very strange was every time I called which was 3x my calls were routed to their Dunellen store where I got the owner Rob . I explained to him I wanted to make sure that Amy cut the " dew claws" and shave the back end.. I thought it was strange that when I called I didn't get Amy herself. I kept getting the owner at a different location in Dunellen.. 15 minutes later I get a call from Amy on her cell phone explaining to me that she has no phone in the building. Again this is extremely strange! Every groomer I've ever been to has had a working phone to book appointments and to call clients when their dog/ dogs would be ready....I explained to her what I wanted because she said that the owner gave her a totally different message and Amy thought I didn't want my dog groomed...this was early on.... I COULD'VE BEEN ANY CLEARER..what exactly I wanted done... At 2:30p I still didn't hear from Pup Purri Groomers. I decided to call again. I finally got a hold of the owner Rob because my call was routed there again and I explained it's 2:30p and my dog was supposed to be done between 12 - 1pm as promised..I also told the owner that I was the first one there to drop off my dog. "He said oh we don't go by that, just because you're the first one to arrive doesn't mean your dog is going to get groomed first.. All the dogs go into a kennel and sit there until they decide which dog their going to groom and when" Their policy is they decide when and who they groom.. Amy said" if a client complains or bitches they will try and push that dog first.My neighbor who used them also said it took over 5 hours to groom his Pomeranian and when he picked up his dog there were no other dogs . This review is for the VETCO area of the store & not the grooming or store as a whole…read more Came today for an appointment for my pup. She was receiving a booster for vaccines she got 4 weeks ago. And despite me visiting the edison location without any issues of course n.plainfield seemed to find every an anything to upcharge me for more vaccines, testing and flea preventative treatment. I felt downright harassed when signing in for my pups appointment. It felt like they're trying to nickel & dime for everything because so many stores have closed, this location is trying to carry the whole business on their shoulders by trying to bring in as much revenue as possible. Despite telling the young woman that my dog was on flea meds, she said they weren't good enough and to use what she was recommending. Excuse me? Then she insisted my dog needed to have a blood test. Why havent any of the other locations pushed for this? It was beyond annoying. Despite my appointment being at 4, we didn't leave until almost 5 with all the harassing upselling and waiting our turn to be seen by the vet. There were pleasant and is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. I understand informing people, but please dont be pushy. Had I listened to this woman, I wouldve walked out with a $600 bill.
