The first thing I'm going to talk about, is the incredible spa that they have in Beverly Hills Equinox! Where do I begin... Let's begin with Jackie! She's the spa manager and also the best aesthetician I've worked with! Ive had three facials with her, the Hydra-facial every time. She makes you feel very comfortable, greets you with a huge smile, asks you detailed questions about your skin, and most importantly makes it a fun and relaxing experience. At the same time, she takes her work very seriously. Both as an aesthetician and a spa manager! That's why she's so good at what she does and makes your face look beautiful! She has recommended me products, which I bought and use daily, and gave me a very detailed list of what to use and when to use it. People think I am 7 to 8 years younger ever since I started with her. I'm not joking! I called the spa once because I forgot which products to use during the day or night, she graciously answered every question and was very patient. And when I see her around the gym, she's always smiling and making me feel very welcome. A very positive person! So if you're thinking about getting a facial, go nowhere other than the spa in Beverly Hills Equinox and ask for Jackie! Kris, who is a masseuse at the spa, gave me probably the best massage I've ever had! I've had two massages with her, and I will continue booking them. I injured my back, and after the massage I was cured! She also used cupping on me. That helped a lot as well to relieve toxins and help anxiety and stress. I originally booked a 50 minute massage with her, and extended it to 110 minutes! Yes, she's that good! So book a massage with Kris immediately! You must train with Rafael!! I've had six or seven sessions with him, and I'll continue booking more! He's very good at what he does, takes it very seriously. But also, jokes around and makes it fun! You have to have fun while you're working out and make it a great experience. Rafeal does just that! And even after six sessions with him, I can see a difference physically! Another person who is constantly complementing me and making me feel welcome at the gym! And even if I'm not training with him, he helps me out with my form and how much weight I should be lifting. Train with Rafael! You won't regret it. Jeremy is another incredible trainer! He's always motivating me, and keeping a positive attitude at the gym! Also have had great stretching sessions with him as well! And yet again, another person that likes to have fun and train at the same time! Someone who takes his work seriously as well! Train with Jeremy as well! Another manger, La, is always smiling and making jokes with me. She takes the time to talk to me if I'm walking by or on the treadmill , if I have a question, or just a casual conversation. She's always super positive, always says to me, "you're killing it today!" Thank you La! You are seriously doing a great job! Don't pass Ruth at the front desk! She makes you feel right at home when you walk in! I'll sit and chat with her for 10 to 15 minutes after my workout and we'll talk about current events and have a good laugh! Very cool girl! There is NO high pressure sales with any staff member at the gym! I'm sure I'm leaving plenty of people out, but unfortunately can't credit everyone. But everyone deserves a praise! So the bottom line... I've never had a bad experience with anyone at Beverly Hills Equinox! Not with the trainers, the staff, the managers, everyone at the spa... Everything has been phenomenal!! I enjoy going to that gym! And that's a very important thing. You really don't wanna look at your exercise routine as a chore or something you don't look forward to. It's frustrating to see people complain about such petty things at this gym in previous reviews. We're not performing brain surgery here people, so hopefully everyone can lighten up! I would consider the Beverly Hills Equinox my home gym for a few years now. I've been a member since before Covid and used to REALLY love this gym. I still love it and it holds a few special memories of my office literally sharing a wall with the gym and at exactly 4pm the music bumping from a workout class, to going early in the mornings in a suit, quickly changing, getting my workouts and sauna in, showering and then walking straight to my office down the hall. It was very convenient for me and I was in some of the greatest shape of my life at one time. I think this place was at its peak when it had Oliver Cafe joined with it and they would serve smoothies and food. I would sometimes take a break and grab a quick smoothie and go back to my office. I will say I like the gym and layout a little more than the Encino Location and it feels more spacious. The staff are very nice but the trainers will hound you in the gym and call you nonstop and that's where Encino location tops this one. I love the sauna room, the eucalyptus towels and the showers and locker area is always clean. They have great customer service and the quality of amenity's are top notch compared to other gyms I've been to. Between Encino and Beverly Hills I'm definitely choosing this one for environment and energy but Encino for privacy, and a nice quiet relaxing workout. However, I have taken a tour of the Woodland Hills one and that one seems super legit! This is my home though. Please get another restaurant or smoothie shop in this location soon! This location is one of the OG-est OG locations of Sports Club/LA, which Equinox bought out years ago. It is easy to get into as it is right on the street, it is not in a mall or a business park, so you can be more efficient with your workout time. The equipment and the amenities are very good, but the overall layout of the place is a bit tight if you have been to any of their newer layout clubs like in Century City. That said, this location has everything you need to get in a great workout and be surrounded by an upscale clientele. While the facilities themselves could use a re-imagine, the staff here are excellent and fit the "Beverly Hills" vibe expectations. read more

Zero gym etiquette at this location guys, do not clean up after themselves is pretty apparent the self entitlement and the laziness. No one resets their weights. No one cleaned up after themselves and lots of under aged kids for the junior with membership that don't know gym etiquette, along with the older me that should know better. I've come to this club before, and have never had anything bad to say about any of the staff because they have all been extremely nice and pleasant to meet. Gary Khara is shallow, non helpful, unpleasant and has a nasty and rude unwelcoming personality. I was going to reinstate my membership and make this gym my home club but would be able to make my payment in 24 hours from now. I came all the way from North Hollywood for a tour of the facility and all Gary was worried about is a payment (instead of doing his job and facilitating a tour.) I've never gone to any gym club before and had to make a payment prior to getting a tour or having complimentary gym session. Even if I couldn't work out at least facilitate the complimentary tour. Biceps growing as I workout my back muscles. I went here initially for a Vinyasa Yoga class with a seasoned teacher. I have found that Equinox usually has really top teachers, who have really amassed a great amount of knowledge and experience -- not a lot of newbie teachers who are still figuring things out -- you get the very best teachers out here. This class that I took was absolutely packed; I had to squeeze in between a couple of people to get a spot for my mat. It was really fun, and surprising in many ways. After that, I lifted weights, since I was already there, and the parking validation is for 2 hours. Showered there as well. It's 2 levels, so lots of equipment. The other members are really friendly, and I struck up a brief conversation with someone. Very nice place. I recommend it. read more

I've been a member and so has my family for 20 years but they just keep lowering and lowering the classes right now. They barely have any cardio or spin classes left after 8:30 AM when I. Terrible experience!!!! The gym is all about encouraging you to get the personal trainer at a crazy cost. I ended up having back injury and asked them to freeze my account, they didn't do that, Their app doesn't let you cancel your membership!! I went there several times and asked in person to cancel my membership after year and half that they were charging me top dollars every month. It's 9 PM and the gym is a complete mess. There's hardly anybody working out but there are dirty towels and free weights all over the place. They are vacuuming the floors when the club is supposed to be open for another hour. I'm stepping over vacuum cables. The flat benches by the dumbbells are super wobbly. They clearly don't check these for stability or quality control until they're actually broken. So the quality of your workout isn't consistent during operating hours. You have to come during specific hours in order to actually get service and clean gym and as far as the condition of the equipment. Clearly that's an ongoing problem. read more

I am a member With Equinox, I pay $340 dollars a month, I was on the mat, I was running, I received a call from my co-worker in New York, I answered the phone and the manager approached me Of this location in Beverly Hills, name: (Don Weiner), with a threatening look told me to turn off the phone immediately, I turned off the phone, I turned off the mat I was running on, and went to the Front Desk, and asked the girl who works at the Front Desk if it was a rule about not being able to take calls at Equinox gyms, And he told me yes. Then I had to stop my workout Go out of the gym, go outside and finish my work conversation just 2 minutes conversation. I don't think it's one Good rule that Equinox enforces, because if you receive a call while you are training, especially if it is for work, you cannot stop your training, you have to go outside the gym, this is Absurd. Nobody pays $340 dollars like me or if you are an executive member $400 dollars to be treated like a fish in your face, treated badly. My husband and I both made appointments for 50 minutes bodywork sessions at Beverly Hills spa. When I showed up, they only had my husband's appointment, even though my mobile app showed that I also have an appointment at the same time. By the time I showed up, because my husband was already in his session, I had to just wait for him outside the spa. The staff at the front desk did not offer any other accommodation or complimentary services. After waiting outside for 20 minutes, I spoke with the spa staff again to make sure that we are not being charged twice. That's when I also found out the 25% promotional discount for the first-time membership was not applied. I expressed my frustration. The spa manager only showed up after I expressed my frustration for the second time. She offered a make-up appointment to be scheduled. This offer honestly did not seem to "make up" anything as I still would pay for the appointment. I was also told that I should call them next time to make an appointment instead of using the mobile app!! I wasted my Saturday afternoon. I was looking forward to this. Proper apology and services to make up for their mistake should have followed when they first realized there was a mistake on their end. I received my apology only after I expressed my frustration and disappointment for the second time and when I pointed them out about the payment error. Gary Khara the membership advisor made my experience so beautiful. He wasn't pushy and trying to hard sale me on a membership like others have done in the past. I came in with a friend and we both said if everybody is as pleasant and nice as him we will sign up at the end of our 7 day trial and we didn't even need experience with others because he was so kind and resourceful. This Equinox is probably the best one I've been too! The street is busy so there's very little parking always. But they have underground parking that you can use for 2hrs. The staff is so friendly always and the amenities are amazing! I love the lockers downstairs and locker room in general. They have everything you need with a surplus of towels, razors, shaving cream, qtips, hair products, and hair dryers so you're ready to go out or back to work after your workout. The eucalyptus towels are also a great touch after your workout. Also love that there's always machines available when i come in and i never have to wait for one. My least preferred Equinox location The yoga studio is tucked away on the bottom floor and is built sort-of weird, where there is this large pole blocking the instructor from about 1/6 of the class (front right); overall, pretty small and can only snugly fit 10-15 people before feeling too crowded. Gym itself is split into 2 floors and the machines are sort of spread out, but seem a little old. The parking structure makes you park on the bottom 3rd/4th floor, so you have to circle down a few times and it is dark. Equinox is on Camden Drive in Beverly Hills. Have been on and off member even when is was the former Beverly Hills Sportsclub. Valet and subterranean parking. This building location is occupied by several talent agencies and oftentimes you'll spot a celebrity at the valet, lobby, elevator or in the gym. I see celebrities daily and am not star struck at all. Years ago, this gym was the ideal location, as my office was in the same building and getting my workout was convenient. Fast forward now, this gym is still location convenient but needs major improvement as everything is outdated. Unlike their sister gym on Sepulveda Bl., in WLA there is no rooftop pool. The other location in Century City is newer and nicer, but the staff aren't service oriented and not available. If you want the latest most innovative workout equipment, you'll be disappointed here. The facilities are well maintained and the staff is great. If you come here 10am-7pm it's too crowded and often times a wait time to use equipment. Between 3-6pm this gym gets crowded with school kids, who are members but just congregate. Their parents prefer they stay here after school prior to pick up. Avoid those hours. With COVID this gym has taken precautions and maintained and enforced social distancing and provides sanitizers. There are too many trainers on the roster and on the floor. Some trainers are better than others, I prefer an all business, no personal chit chat approach. I meet my personal trainer here usually very early when there are no school kids around. Since COVID hours have changed, keeping shorter times to no availability of certain classes. There are only a few major gyms in Beverly Hills, and Equinox is $$$$ and by far better. The higher fees eliminates the non serious gym sloths. For service, cleanliness, helpful staff and convenience it gets 5 star, but desperately needs updated equipment therefore earns 3 star. read more

I pay almost 300 bucks a month. Honestly, there is nothing special about this gym at all. It is super crowded between 5 to 7 especially on Mondays. Parking is a nightmare. If you want to come to a place where you have to wait endlessly to be able to get your car out, and then fight for a machine from a teenager who is sitting on the machine while he's checking his TikTok, or then having to walk through circles of teenagers and college kids, who are just standing there aimlessly, doing anything but working out then come here. It feels like I'm working out a 24 hour fitness for LA fitness or YMCA. However, I'm paying top top dollar for it. The only reason I come here because it is located across the street from my work and my other options are half an hour away. I wish there was a la fitness or 24 hour fitness closer. Shittiest gym. It took me 20 minutes to leave the parking garage yesterday because the gate was broken. Today took 20 min to find a parkkng spot. For $300 a month, its not worth it. And the customer service SUCKS HARD. They treat you like shit. read more

We visited this Equinox location for the first time this week. The amenities are comparable to other gyms we visited but the workout equipment, in general, was typically older than what we observed at other places. Other than the SoulCycle bikes and some of the specialty equipment, many of the workout machines seemed older. The staff/trainers were super friendly and very helpful in informing us of all of the services, classes, and equipment available for members and visitors. In regards to COVID protocols, cleaning seemed to be a priority. We saw many people constantly cleaning within the exercise areas as well as the locker rooms. However, an issue I observed was mask enforcement. There was no enforcement of (proper) mask use. There were numerous people with inadequate face coverings as well as many people not covering their nose/mouth. Parking was easy in their subterranean parking lot. RUN RUN from the Beverly Hills Equinox! Their customer service is atrocious. An example of their incompetence: I was shocked after seeing a $75 charge on my credit card. When I called them to inquire about what the charge was pertaining to, I was told that there was a guest that entered the club with me. The club should register each member and guest at least for security purposes. Allowing people to walk in without disclosing associated fees is completely unacceptable. I sent several emails to Emma Walker, the manager, she ignored and did not respond. I called again and asked for the senior Manager Don Weiner. I was told that he cannot speak with you. He will call you back. I did not heard from Don either. The same guest signed up to become a member a couple of days after this debacle. Shockingly, she was stopped at the same club in Beverly Hills and was told that she is not a member. It took over an hour for them to figure out that they made a mistake and misspelled her last name by one letter. After ruining her mood and missing the class she wanted to attend, the location manager assured her that the problem was resolved and that there shouldn't be any further problems with accessing the gym. The following day, she went to the Beverly Hills location. At registration, she was stopped yet again and told that she is not a member. Half an hour was once again squandered until her name was finally located in the system. Moral of the story: their customer care is alarmingly poor. read more

The management in this gym doesn't know how to run a premium service like a private jet or even a suite in a hotel. I highly recommend Katja Blasi's Pilates Fusion class! Katja's class is fun, challenging and inspiring. It's one of the most favorite Pilates classes I've taken at Equinox! She instructs with great energy, precision with showing each movement and is extremely positive. I felt like I got a great workout with her class and the best part is that she has us "smile" on the most intense sections which is such great motivation. The gym has ample and high-quality training equipment and cardio machines. Despite being busy at times, it does not feel crowded or stuffy. The gym is less busy during early mornings (5-6:30 am) and in the afternoon (around 3-4 pm). The locker room is clean and well-maintained, with individual lockers and stocked towels. Over the past few days I have suffered criminal discrimination against me as a result of a false narrative created by other members that are homophobic. First the general manager Don, then the regional manager John, put on false airs of being sympathetic, then did not believe or listen to anything I said. Furthermore, my visual impairment that requires the use of glasses, was categorized in a negative manner; everyone at Equinox should be ashamed that this was allowed to transpire. After I was assaulted with disturbing, baseless, and inappropriate questions, I was then told that my membership was cancelled, with no recourse or consideration - after having billed me for the month, of course. Equinox Beverly Hills is in decline. Save yourself over $200 per month and join Planet Fitness if you are looking for an overcrowded fitness center where you have to wait for 15 minutes for a machine and 10 extra minutes to park (stacked parking with valet). I have been a member for over a dozen years (back to when it was Sports Club LA). This used to be a premier fitness center - but is now just another over crowded gym. It takes twice as long to work out as it did pre-covid due to having to wait 10 minutes for each machine or bench. Management has completely oversold the membership. In the last 5 months or so there has been a massive influx of teenagers working out during prime time. The club offered a heavily discounted rate of $150 per month for high school kids. There are now literally 30 additional high school kids working out from 5pm - 7pm every day. I think it is great that young kids are working out - however the new high school membership drive has outpaced the capacity of the club. It used to be an nice place to work out and you gladly paid a premium for a nice experience - plenty of room, nice people, clean club, etc. Now you are waiting for 6 kids in "Crocs" (seriously) to get off their cell phone and machine so you can work out. Once you eventually complete your workout you then get to go to the parking lot and wait for the overworked parking staff to retrieve your stacked parked car. If you want to try the steam room - be warned it's literally shoulder to shoulder on a good day. Management knows it is overcrowded - yet still sells memberships. When you talk to them about it - they say every gym is over crowded after 5 pm. Well that may be true but not every fitness center charges over $250 per month. Go to LA Fitness or Planet Fitness for $50 a month. If you are thinking of joining - do yourself a favor and make sure you first visit at 5:30 pm on a weekday. read more

I have trained with multiple Equinox trainers sporadically over the years. However, Lindsay Kent at the Beverly Hills location is by far the most excellent trainer ever. I am so happy i was paired with her. Not only does she know her stuff, but she is so positive, friendly, sweet and sincere and caring that just being in her presence will motivate you to work out even when you don't feel like it. I pay close to 250 per month. My frustration is with the parking. Today I waited 15 to be able to leave the parking lot. WME is in the same building and they own most the parking. You have to circle around to find a spot to park in. Usually you end up parking and the lot attendant keeps your keys because cars get parked tandem. The gym is so so so busy now (I think all high school kids must get free membership because I've been coming for 13 years and it's never been this busy), and anyway on the way out you have to wait for the parking attendant to pull your car out. It's soooooo busy now and with minimal attendants to help. Today a Tesla was blocking me in and when the attendant finally came to help she said she doesn't drive or move teslas. So I had to wait for the next attendant. Finally 15-20 minutes later I was able to get my car. I wish there was a ymca or 24 hour fitness close by, I'd rather pay the $40 and go there. You'd think for $250 a month you'd have a nice and less crowded gym with easy parking. But nope, it's like working out at a high school gym but being ripped off. Parking SUCKS here! Love Equinox! Great location with 2 hour free complimentary parking -- it's established in the same building complex at WME. The parking is easy to find - the garage next to it. The staff are super friendly, the training equipment and cardio machines are definitely ample and really quality. It definitely has its 'packed' hours but unlike other gyms it doesn't feel stuffy or congested. You can feel the 'luxury' through that. Early mornings between 5-6:30 is usually pretty dead, around 3-4 pm in the afternoon is quiet as well. The locker room is also really nice, you can have your own locker, the bathrooms and showers are really clean and there's always a good stock of towels. They have eucalyptus towels that you can take advantage of as well! They also have a steam room for you to use to relax and unwind. Tried coming here for the first time. I liked that it was not too busy when I came. They have a decent amount of equipment to choose from. What I didn't like how the gym was not maintained. It was pretty dirty compared to other high end gyms I have gone to. You would think they would keep it super clean with the amount of money they charge members. If they could maintain the gym a lot better, it would be a gym I would enjoy coming to. read more
