I've been going to my trainer for a few years so I was excited to see the new place he was training out of. The entrance is low key so don't miss it! There was a few metered street spots available or there's a neighborhood behind it on Colgate that had plenty of free street parking. The area around is nice, it's very close the The Grove so I went and shopped a bit after a good workout. My highlight was the ambience and the friendliness of the trainers. I'm a little self conscious when I workout and this place is personal enough that I felt really comfortable. Music is a variety but they took requests for genres. There's a Pilates area in the back and a little massage room. Also the aesthetics were soo pleasing. The lights were really good for pictures and very flattering. I don't love when gyms are all black and dark but this has a black modern vibe. I saw each trainer clean their equipment after they trained so that reassured me that everything was in fact clean. Bathrooms well stocked and there's a vending machine if you need some fuel. Will definitely be back!

Told managers not working but still no improvement/results. Everyone I saw on my weekly sessions also looked the same to me. Only the trainers look really muscular. My goal was only to lose 5lbs and get firmer and look good. Disappointed and in despair I switched to Tigerjoo who promised results within 1 month and I have lost 4lb and one and a half inch waist and firming up within two months.

Upon walking in they have a long desk with what looks like a coffee or smoothie bar behind it and then a row of free towels on the end of the counter from which guests can choose. If you're visiting and not a member, you do have to fill out a liability/waiver form and then you walk down the hall to get to the gym. . The locker rooms are on the first floor, the men's LR is labeled, "John" & the women's is labeled, "Jane". The space is colorfully designed and has a sleek, curvature aesthetic. Picture arch entry ways, gold oval-shaped mirrors, plush throne chairs & neon decor lights. . There are several levels and the floral carpeted stairs lead to a lounge, a room with weights and exercise machines, and another long hall that will take you to the treadmills, ellipticals, and stairclimbers. The space is also pretty clean and they offer complimentary toiletries including lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. . The lockers come with dial locks, but they are tricky to use and no instructions on how to were posted. I kept mine unlocked and all of my belongings were present post workout. The greatest amenities live on the ground floor being the sauna, outdoor jacuzzi & pool. Although it was overcast today, I still got a good soak. . Right now, they are offering a promotion for two months free until February 12th. If you're in the abundant area of West Hollywood, be sure to check them out!

Smoothie shop downstairs and a fantastic vitamin store nearby. It even has a 20 meter outdoor pool on the roof with poolside lounging, sunbathing, and lap swimming. Easy parking in the large structure next door. Some Hollywood movie trivia: this fitness complex used to be called the "Sports Connection" in the 1980s and it was the primary location for the 1985 film "Perfect" starring John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis. We were excited to hear this and come visit when we had a planned trip to LA. The location of the studio is in iconic Sunset plaza where maybe movies were shot and you can regularly see the stars passing by. My wife actually saw Justin Bieber when we had lunch. The studio is named XRCYZE (Ex-er-cise) his corporate name is XRCYCLE which was the spin cycle classes he was running. The studio still has a lofted area with spin cycles but also offers tailored personal training sessions. Ernie uses combinations of fitness plans customized for the particular customer. He has plenty of equipment as pictured. I recalled him getting pretty good at the aerial yoga silks and he said he was researching incorporating that into the studio as well once the proper ceiling mounts can be constructed. He gave us a great tour of the studio, got to hang out with his adorable rescue dogs as well. We were going to do a session with Ernie but I'll be honest I'm on a long weekend vacation and I was just a little bit hung over but we have done stuff in the past with him and he is excellent. I enjoyed the floor work but the stairmaster portion is a little too much for me when we have to rotate to the left and right. Definitely see the benefits of it, it's not just not something I'm comfortable with yet. But you definitely get an excellent workout coming here. Was sweating profusely midway through the class.

Tried Lagree underground today. Worst workout I've ever tried in LA. Mikael the proprietor is very…read moreinflexible. He won't allow walk ins or last minute signups. You MUST make an account online before your first class. You cannot sign up friends. You cannot walk in late to class. You cannot move your spot in the class. He assigns you wherever he likes it seems. Also there is no phone number for the studio and emails are returned to sender. I had never taken Lagree before, so the machine is quite foreign to me. He pointed at colored zones and wiggled handles. He said absolutely no modifying body positions. When the class started I was clearly struggling. His proprietary grip socks don't account for being on your toes so I slid off the machine. He didn't offer help or any guidance. Just told me to leave. Long story short avoid Mikael. Avoid Lagree underground unless you are already familiar with the gear the movements and the class unless you prefer a hostile trainer and no guidance. Long story long; I signed up well in advance of the class and wanted to bring a friend so I used a class pass to reserve a 2nd seat after his online system wouldn't allow me to log out or make her an account, emails were sent back undeliverable and there is no listed phone number. The morning of the class Mikael messages me from his private cell, and his first contact is to tell me he is cancelling the 2nd seat for the class. I ask him please not to and that we will happily pay additional fees and work it out when we arrive. He says no. Make a new account or no class. I tell him fine but this seems hostile and try AGAIN to make my friend an account which isn't possible btw. You cannot make a new account from a laptop only a phone and one account per phone. After much back and forth he sets up the account. I thought it was all a misunderstanding and try to move forward. We show up early to the class. Sign the waivers, buy socks and water (he kept my cc on file btw) he gives the most cursory gesturing explanation of the machines says the class 'moves fast' and is nothing like Pilates. Sets us up on machines in different rows on opposite sides of the room and walks away. The class starts and I am clearly struggling with the number/color ambiguous movement descriptions. He offers no help. After only 5 minutes I get off the machine and go to talk to my friend who is also struggling and also not getting help. Then suddenly he cares. I tell him I'm scared of falling off the machine and need some help and guidance. He says no. He says he can refund me but I can't move to the machine near my friend and can't sit in the room. I must go to the front waiting area or leave. I've taken tons of different classes in LA and all over the globe. I love trying out new classes and testing new ways to enhance my fitness. This was not a remotely positive experience for me. I go to classes for guidance and oversight. I go to share the experience with friends, learn new moves, and have the camaraderie and energy of others all working towards their own goals. This was independent, hostile and frankly embarrassing.
