I am no longer a member. From my perspective, a person who has practiced martial arts, wellness, mindfulness, holistic health, yoga and meditation for 30 years. This location is poorly managed. Multiple management changes and staff. I was in a severe car accident. I could not walk for 3 months. During my recovery, my physical therapist instructed me to use a balance board. I went to ask the staff to help. 15 minutes later, went back to the staff member who said they forgot and told me to go into an empty room - that corporate had been there the day before and put it in the empty room. I went in to get the board per their instruction. The fitness manager was in there. She is beyond rude in her demeanor, was stalking me, speaking negatively about me to her class. Dangerous behavior - spreading hate. The front desk person told me to "watch my back" because the fitness manager "has it out for you". She also told me to get heavier weights when I was in need of the lightest weights possible, negligent as a fitness manager. I told the manager I did not know why she was hyperfocused on me. She continued to hyperfocus on me. Wellness is not supported here. It is "marketing". - During the LA fires, they let friends and family in. Someone stole my credit cards out of my locker. - Influencers take pictures and selfies, entitled kids sitting on machines for 15 minutes. The manager at the time was doing the same, taking selfies and posting on instagram. People take their phones in the steam room. I minded my business, until. I spoke up. Leadership matters. Everything comes from the head. They brought in new management. Again. I swing a rope and do martial arts. Men do it, no problem. I did it, problem. I was written up for destroying their ropes because I took them outside. I bought my own. I could go on, but I pick my battles. Positive - Carlos a fitness trainer. Kind, self aware and an actual fitness person intending to help people, without a headshot. I went to other locations, culver city is well managed, leadership is wonderful here. The men's steam room at the Miracle Mile location really needs improvement. Whenever there is a class going on nearby, you can hear all of the music inside the steam room, and the entire room actually shakes from the noise and vibrations. It makes it very difficult to relax and completely takes away from the experience. The steam room itself also does not feel nearly as good as the one at the Beverly Hills Equinox. I recently used the steam room there, and the difference is significant--it feels a hundred times better. There are also ongoing issues with the men's locker room. The showers are frequently cold, and the locker room is consistently dirty, especially the floors. For a premium gym like Equinox, the Miracle Mile location should be maintained to a much higher standard. I hope management can address these issues because the overall experience is currently far below what I would expect from Equinox. read more

Honestly I love this location. It's smaller but has everything you need, and I much much prefer this location over Culver City. I love that they have higher ceiling and it's all 1 level. I don't like going up and down to use bathroom or for equipment. Its never too crowded, crowded is Santa Monica, not here. The parking couldn't get easier and there are always spots, and just 1 floor below, very easy. Parking validation is 2hr30min which is 30min longer than BH or SM. read more

Worst Customer Service They Literally Won't Let You Cancel! If I could give zero stars, I would. Equinox Miracle Mile has the absolute worst customer service when it comes to canceling a membership. I came in person with a doctor's letter stating that I needed to cancel immediately due to an Achilles torn injury a legitimate medical reason. But guess what? They're always "busy" or "in a meeting" (aka dodging members who need to cancel). They keep telling me, "We'll send you an email" (which never actually resolves anything) and won't let me cancel on the spot. I even told them I'm fine paying my balance IF they just cancel my membership, but nope, it's just endless runaround. At this point, it feels like a total scam. They make it as difficult as possible to cancel, even when you have a medical emergency. I love it here, it's a great community, the gym is always clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful, the other members are friendly and considerate. My trainer Elio is AMAZING, so encouraging and has really helped me become stronger and healthier over the past year. And I love the app, especially the on-demand precision run classes. Chelsea is the best! It's so great to be able to continue my routine at a hotel gym when I'm traveling. Equinox if you're reading this I have some feature requests for the app: 1. When the app is in club mode add the ability to enter our locker number and maybe the combo? This would prevent maintenance from having to help members find/open their lockers when they forget. 2. Add the ability to toggle between English and Metric system in the precision run module. When I'm traveling internationally the cardio equipment is set to the metric system so when I have to increase my speed I first have to use my calculator to convert which is not easy during a run. 3. Add more precision run content. Maybe open it up to user submissions? read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I'm really frustrated with the Customer Service at equinox, and I am not surprised to see how low the reviews are for the equinox gym. I only go to my location because it's convenient and clean, but the customer service is terrible. I've been a regular member for many years and I just called in requesting a three day pass for my daughter to check out the gym and they gave me such a difficult time about it. It was a simple request and there's no reason why they couldn't honor it, especially since they did this in the past, and with the high monthly fees. There are so many other gyms in this area that have popped up over the last few years that provide additional guidance and training at a reduced cost. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. I'm already looking for my exit ticket to go somewhere else that cares more about its individual members. Really disappointed in Equinox. read more

Carlos is the best! I was a little nervous about getting a trainer as a mature adult, but working with Carlos Castro has been an amazing experience. He is very attentive to form, safety, and smart ways of building muscle, and the results have truly been impressive for me. Carlos is not only an expert, but also very creative. He showed me innovative ways to use the machines and tailor exercises to my body and my goals, which kept our sessions engaging and fun. I always felt listened to, supported, and encouraged. I would highly recommend Carlos to anyone, especially if you are older or new to training and feeling hesitant. On top of that, I really love this gym. I've been wanting to leave a review on this gym for a while now, today I've actually had it. I don't know if this location is just poorly managed or if all equinox gyms are like this but this is not worth the ridiculous rates that they're charging. First of all the gym floor is 50% treadmills, limited strength training machines. There's one leg extension machine that's usually occupied by soccer moms chatting & trading off for 30 minutes at a time. The showers are covered in mold & are disgusting. The toilet seat covers are never stocked, often soap in the showers are also neglected, then it's a toss up if you're going to get a squealing shower, room temp water, or low water pressure. I signed up for like 2 massages here, there is no organization for the spa services. The front desk will just tell you to "just go back there" with no instruction, and the last massage I had they were testing the fire alarms the ENTIRE TIME. Why are you booking spa services when there alarms constantly going off?? The gym crowd here is snooty & inconsiderate. The vibes are horrendous and the personal trainers that stop you in the locker room to stare your body up and down while you're naked is really icing on the cake. read more

This place has really dropped in quality lately. Gym equipment is usually sweaty/dirty and gross. Spin equipment is in disrepair. And it's gotten way busier lately. You can get better experience at LA fitness for 20% of the cost. The one redeeming quality is their yoga teachers are pretty good. The service at the front desk was also disappointing. I notified them that I got injured due to poorly maintained equipment and the lady couldn't care any less. Sad because I used to love this gym read more

It's honestly not bad but not great, it's a smaller than the usual Equinox with smaller amenities. I doubt the cleanliness of the bathrooms, my friend came as a guest to use the spa and sauna and shower and she got a UTI SOMETHING was not right. Management will do their best to work with you on issues, sometimes they will accommodate other times they will not, so it's not exceptional customer service but it's not terrible either. read more

I prefer this gym over West Hollywood and Culver City; it IS crowded, but feels less so. I go here most often of the Equinox gyms, mostly given location and the group fitness classes. (+) great classes! Think they provide really good variety that fit my intensity level the most and crowd is younger than Century City/Sports Club LA (+) cardio machines never that crowded, especially the bike and stairmaster (+) parking can get sort of busy at peak 5-7pm weekdays, but never too hard to find (-) mats in yoga/pilates/barre are RIGHT next to your neighbor; in the covid era, or even just in general, I personally think they need to provide more space between attendees. Main studio classes (athletic conditioning, tabata, kickboxing) never that packed, but yoga/pilates classes are really popular at this location (-) only wet sauna available (-) weight lifting area is smaller than other Equinox locations (compared to West Hollywood, Hollywood) read more

Way too many people even during non-peak hours. Instead of feeling zen when I walked in, I felt like I was at LA Fitness at 5pm on a weekday (That's really bad) The women's locker room needs some signage. I felt lost in a maze. The layout uses mirage mirrors to make the space look larger, but is confusing. The toilets weren't the cleanest which was a bit disappointing. They're great with the towel service though and mopping which is odd. I think you would be better off using the BH, Westwood or even Weho location. Way too many people here. The trainer to client ratio here is an outlier on the bell curve. Kind of too many for the space it's in. Parking entrance is on Wilshire. For people whose home gym is Mid-Wilshire location, you must truly have patience and I feel sorry for you that your home gym is like this. I think DTLA sucks but this one is worse. read more

The equinox manager (WRS) made some condescending remarks on the phone when addressing my cancellation and overpayment. He was argumentative and insisted I could not cancel without a hardship reason. I advised him several times that my contractual obligations were met and a hardship excuse was not appropriate. The mgr continued to emphasized that he deals with undesirable members trying to scheme the equinox polices all the time. I advised him that was an inappropriate comment. And by saying this, you are clearly implying that I am a schemer too. He quickly recanted. This communication took place after I repeatedly sent emails requesting follow-up /status updates to my original cancellation and refund for overpayment to the manager. My original membership cancellation was submitted on the Equinox website via their cancel@equinox.com email portal. After days of no email confirmation, I called the Miracle Mile Equinox and was a referred to the Manager, which was a regrettable mistake. The manager had no knowledge or awareness of the canceling process available Equinox's website and made the disparaging comments. Gym enthusiast know your membership contract and policies well, because the employees and manager at this location are not educated on their polices/procedures and will mislead you. At the premium price Exquinox charges, good customer service is an expectation and anything else is unacceptable. read more

It's now been a full year since I've been a member of equinox. Thought I should give it at least that much time before I leave a review. Things to note : The machines are dated. While equinox loves advertising all their new locations, they neglect the older ones. There are only 5 stair masters and 3 woodway treadmills. The stair masters are rusted and most of the time, 1-2 of them aren't working or riddled with sweat from the previous person who didn't wipe it down. Most of the time, at least 2 Woodways are working but because they get the most use, you can generally find one out of commission. There is no spa. It's been closed since Covid and has not reopened. EVERYTIME time there is a "sale" you'll get a flood of new people that takeover the entire gym. Sometimes there won't be anything available except a dated cardio machine. Good luck if you can't get to the gym at 5am. Trainers. Most are respectful and friendly with the exception of one trainer that likes to workout with their client. And not just on a machine. He likes to jump rope in the middle of the gym WITH his client at it's peak busy time. I think there needs to be some consideration for the actual members. Also, the entire floor will shake EVERYTIME they jump up and down. Brace yourself for that. Price. For the outdated machinery, I don't think there is that much value here. They are also raising their price this month. Ehh. Is this the best location in LA? No. Is it nicer than Gold's Gym or LA fitness, yes. Do I think we deserve better for how much we pay? Yes. Parking is great because they do validate for 2.5 hours but there will be days where the building will close down parking and you'll have to street park without any notice. You won't find out till you get there. Weekends don't open till 7am which is annoying. If you wake up to get to the gym by 5am on a weekend likely means you also wake up early on the weekend. You'll have to sit around and wait for the gym to open. Equipment. There used to be a person that walked around and put any misplaced equipment where it belongs but I have seen a person do this in a few months. You may have to wander a bit to locate what you need. Recently moved to the area and chose Miracle Mile as my new home club. So far I've really enjoyed it! My previous home club South Bay has a large open parking lot so was a bit nervous about the garage/validation parking at Miracle Mile. I haven't had a problem with finding parking though - parking and validation is super easy. I love barre classes so joined this location because they have a lot and also their yoga/barre studio is separate from the main studio. The weight area is smaller than other locations that I've been to but they also have more classes than other clubs so depends on what you're looking for! read more

I went with a friend to check out this gym for the first time. My first time going to an high end gym. The facilities were clean and they had all the equipment you could need. Ample enough for everyone. There's is definitely less crowd to fight over equipment here. So many classes offered. I have been a big class person but these really kick your butt and motivate you. I look forward to these every week. Sometimes just doing workout on machines gets boring. The hours are limited compared to other gyms. It definitely takes some effort kn my part to make in time on the weekends, but I always have an amazing workout here. read more

After trying out Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Miracle Mile, I decided to get a select membership to this location. It is kept very clean, the space is bright and open, the front staff is always welcoming and warm- Jordan is the best! I also had my complementary training session with Mitchell. The initial Equifit appointment was very thorough and after my first session today I am over the moon. Mitchell was extremely attentive, paid attention to the things I told him during Equifit a few days prior and implemented movements and workouts in my session that reflected my goals and needs. He really held it down for me, encouraged me, checked in with me constantly and honored all of my little nuances. I have worked with personal trainers before and have never felt so seen and heard. It doesn't hurt he's also not bad on the eyes (sorry not sorry)! I am very happy with my decision to join this club and y'all should too! read more

I came here around 8PM on August 29, 2023. There were three people standing by the front desk but two of them were actual front desk workers. One was a white blonde woman and the other was a black man. As I walked in, I let them know that my friend was allowing me to use one of his guest passes but I asked if I could just get a day pass because I just wanted to start my workout. The woman said that they give guest passes but they only give it to people that actually want to join the gym. Did my appearance make her think that I could not afford the gym? She makes around $25 an hour and has no right to be condescending. Just because someone isn't dressed like a yuppy does not mean that they aren't interested in joining a new gym. At that point, I knew she wasn't friendly and waited till my friend came. As soon as my friend came, the black man asked for my ID. He asked for my email but I misheard and thought he was asking for my name. When i accidentally said "my name is" she looked at him and cringed. He was fully professional and didn't make any rude remarks or gestures. In terms of the actual gym, very little equipment. I was using a bench and could not even see myself in the mirror because the mirror is too small. There's no decline chest machine based on what I saw. There is also only 1 tricep machine based on what I saw. Avoid these people at all costs. Dear Equinox, hire friendly people. I've never been to any other Equinox gym facilities so my review is based upon my first visit to any Equinox gym. My friend had a guest pass and so I was able to use that and I've always been curious about Equinox. I love working out and I can really appreciate a nice gym facility and would definitely consider getting a membership if I thought it would be worth it. I saw that they offer tons of classes throughout the week and so I decided to take a class. Before going to the gym, I was told there was a parking garage and although the parking garage was a bit confusing to find at first, I had no problem locating the gym after I parked. Equinox is located inside of a large building so you have to take the elevators up to the ground level. Upon walking in, I was greeted and because I had a guest pass they asked for my ID and vaccine card. After checking in, I went to the locker rooms, placed my belongings inside, and noticed how clean the entire facility was and how they come stocked with a lot of nice lotions, appliances, etc. which I loved! They also provide towels so that you don't need to bring your own. I took a yoga class on a Sunday and it was definitely a very different style of yoga that I never did before (I love yoga and have taken many different classes but this one wasn't my favorite) - felt like I was just lying down for half the class and I couldn't see the instructor because it was so dark inside and I was in the very back row. To be honest, I felt like I got nothing out of it and the heat was also broken (it was supposed to be a heated class). However, the facility itself was really nice and clean and I wish I came earlier to workout beforehand had I known the class wasn't going to be that great. The gym closes really early on Sunday's so I was only able to relax in the steam room after the class for a few minutes but really enjoyed it. I think I would try this gym again to utilize other equipment and try different classes if I were given the opportunity to try again. read more

I get it. Equinox is considered expensive. There are terrible review for this club. Eucalyptus towels won't change your life as much as you think it will. I signed up for this location with all of these concerns in my mind after a year of making it through a global pandemic during which I had packed on some extra pounds and seen my ability to climb stairs without doing an impression of the Big Bad Wolf nearly impossible. I knew I wasn't at my best and that I wanted a change and also that I needed a free t-shirt to add to my wardrobe so I gave Equinox a try. I had read that there was new management for the club so despite some negative reviews in the past, I rolled the dice and took a tour. Gabby was phenomenal with the intake process. She took time to give me a thorough tour of the club, answered all of my questions, and didn't make me feel like I was being hassled into buying a used Toyota Yaris. Next up: Fitness assessment. Oh. hell. no. They assigned me to a trainer named Mitchell L. who didn't judge me on the fact that my balance was as bad as a drunk sailor or that my core strength raised questions of how I was even able to sit up. Mitchell was straight up kind and knowledgeable and I surprised myself by signing up for personal training. The training sessions have been incredible and in just two months I've lost a good amount of body fat and seen great gains in my balance, strength, and endurance. I can even begin to see the outline of my abs for the first time in...well, forever. Mitchell is a phenomenal trainer and I would 100% recommend him. The staff that maintain the place are excellent. They work hard and keep the place sparkling clean. Take time to learn their names and get to know them a little. Special shout out to Carlos because that man goes above and beyond to keep the men's locker room spotless. You could eat off that floor but also please don't do that. I have not taken any classes so I can't comment on them. Overall, I'm glad I joined. It's a great club and well managed from what I can tell. Front desk staff always greet you when you enter and leave, and it feels like Cheers where everybody knows your name but not in an embarrassing way like you got caught doing dumb shit on Tik Tok. Terrible customer service. When i joined they said the rate increase would be $5.00 now after covid they have been raising it $15!!! Now listen if this gym offered a lot of amenities i would sort of understand the rate increase. Miracle mile is tiny, no pool, not hot tub, no infrared sauna, not even the latest modern equipment.
