One hour later I called the bank to cancel the transaction. After spending 40 minutes of a 42 minute call on hold, I was told it was "too late" to cancel it. This is customer service? I have been a customer since 1994, but why should I bother to continue? The tellers at the branch are super nice, but there needs to be more transparency. How about warning the customer that they might want to consider that they will only be getting 17k VND to one USD instead of the actual exchange rate of 26k VND. Maybe alert the customer that he will lose $350 on a $1000 exchange? And not make it so hard to cancel an unsatisfactory transaction? And, hey, do they think our time is so cheap that it's okay to spend 40 minutes on hold?

This significantly impacts your cumulative investment growth--they do not have your best interest in mind. I was also misinformed by a customer service representative about their Go Savings account until I read more on their website. Their training for customer representatives could cost you money, so please read up on what they're offering before you visit and trust them. They told me that I would get 3.00% APY for the first $2,499, then 1% for the remainder. That is not at all how it works--you get less than 0.03% for every penny after the $2,500 limit. I opened a Unitus account a little less than a year ago hoping to get away from big banks and…read moresupport something local. Unfortunately, I regret that decision. From the start, I've had nothing but issues with their fraud protection system. Every time I tried adding my debit card to Apple Wallet, my account froze and triggered a fraud alert. Then, after making a small purchase (under $6!) at a supermarket I visit all the time, the same thing happened again. Of course, these alerts always seemed to hit on weekends -- leaving me without access to my money until Monday. When I finally reached customer service, they offered no real help. I was told there was nothing they could do and that "Apple or the market" was causing the alerts -- which makes no sense, since I've never had this issue with any other bank. More recently, my direct deposit didn't post on the scheduled day. I went into the branch to let them know and asked that any overdraft fees be reversed since the deposit would arrive the next business day. Instead of helping, the assistant manager, Kay Birgul, was dismissive and rude. Her exact words were, "If you have more items that hit before your deposit, your employer will have to cover them." I've never requested a fee reversal before and didn't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience. To be fair, other staff at that branch have been kind and helpful in the past -- but this experience was enough to push me to close my account. I'm moving out of state soon anyway and will be switching to another bank. I'm sure there are plenty of local options with better customer service and fewer technical issues.

I made the switch over to a CCU after I was fed up with Wellfargo charging a starving college student a $20 fee for *not* using their credit card. It was a fantastic option for a young 20something learning the ropes of financial stability, but I didn't do more than try to keep money in the bank and pay off my credit card every month. Then our 1999 beater kicked the bucket. My partner and I knew it was going to happen eventually and we would have to get some sort of car. Both of us were attracted to the idea of driving an electric car so we went into the Sellwood branch to ask for our options. We were helped by Brittany K and she was an absolute dream. Student loans can be crippling and we were really concerned we wouldn't even be approved for a loan! Brittany advocated for us all the way and we approved! If you've read this far, this is where the *above and beyond* customer service starts. We were in negotiations to buy a Nissan Leaf through an online dealer. We had a $250 hold down on the car and we're about to sign papers! After a bunch of back and forth between the dealer and Brittany, she let us know that the dealer wasn't actually able to even prove they owned the title to sell legally! She then went out of her way to find us a simmilar car with a reputable dealer Unitus trusts! We ended up loving the other car way more than the shifty dealer and my partner and I are fighting over who gets to drive it! None of this would have been possible without Brittany's help she really went to bat for us. I highly recommend Unitus to anyone who is just starting out and might not be savvy enough to negotiate predatory lending/financial situations.

They added almost $900 to my loan for one month insurance coverage even though I submitted my insurance policy. I am doing everything I can to refinance my loan with someone else. This is how they treat their customers.
