Can getting a mortgage even be this easy?…read more I've been looking for a home in Pittsburgh since I moved here 2.5 years ago, and this last week, finally closed on a home and had a mortgage through Jim Franco at Welcome Home Finance. Jim came highly recommended through several coworkers and a friend, so I had little doubt that things would go alright with the loan, but I was also amazed at just how smoothly things went. Having closed on a condo in late 2008 in Austin, and a few refinances on the condo (thanks, tanking economy!), I was accustomed to pretty painful processes of securing a mortgage. Perhaps 2008 is to blame. Perhaps Texas is to blame. Perhaps the condo is to blame. But, more likely, the mortgage brokers I used at the time just required a lot of hand holding and constant updating and it ended up being fairly stressful. Not with Jim! Things went so smoothly that I was concerned that something was wrong, because I wasn't being harassed for this document or that or told that something went wrong in underwriting or that they need some last-second certification or statement under oath or letter from Obama or Eye of Newt or who knows what. Easy. As. Pie. The numbers were all correct. The closing happened on time. Oh, and I got a pretty good interest rate, too. The home loan world can be a foreign and imposing place. I feel very lucky that Prime Lending handled my loan, especially under the circumstances. As a first time home buyer, I was completely green to the process. I couldn't have asked for a better company to guide me through. With Prime Lending's help, I was able to take my home from a complete dark and dank gut-job to a warm, inviting space that people compliment the moment they enter. So, when interest rates dropped and I wanted to shoot for a lower monthly APR, I went back to Prime Lending. Terrible! Had to relocate from San Francisco to Pittsburgh for a job and was looking for a home…read morenear Robinson mall. Found a dream home cheap! Gave my loan officer my documents and he was fired for selling customer SSN and birth dates of his good credit customers! Then loan officer #2 assigned to me told me to stop calling him and he's let me know what's going on. Never heard a thing! Then I ended up losing $42,000 earnest deposit! I contacted the company owner and he pretty much told me to have my husband call him! I'm in a lawsuit now and I'd better get my money. ****Update**** My sister's best friend from high school went to work as a professor there in 2024 and after 6 weeks was told the company was having trouble paying employee wages. She is owed 2 weeks pay to this day!! I'm pleading with everyone to not use them.

After I would t lower price, agent completely ghosted me, but when I had wife call since she didn't have my wife's number, answered on first ring. Found out from guy a was trying to buy land from, he never signed his contract because of a date discrepancy, after agent said he's all signed and ready to go. After several more tries calling/texting agent Hilary with no response, called office. Manager seemed pissed at first, then sided with agent cause I refused to lower price after only 30 days. As far as agent not getting back to me, and lies, she had no answer. Definitely not a professional establishment
