From the…read moreday we moved in we have had nothing but issues along with hearing/seeing our neighbors issues. When we moved in our sink faucet was broke, and found out it was installed broken. It took them a month to come fix it. Our water bill was outrageous for the first two months of being here because of their error at the meter. Our hot water heater leaked for 8 months before they figured out the issue and it's all because they never ran the pressure relief valve pipe outside. It's currently still in our hallway closet and when the plumber came to fix the leak, he put a cap at the bottom of the pipe which can cause even bigger problems than we already have. Because of the hot water leak, our kitchen floor has concrete coming up through the cracks. They replaced the kitchen floor once because they thought the guest bathroom toilet was leaking. It probably was because it was installed without a seal. After they fixed the floor, we continued with having issues of a wet kitchen floor and dried concrete coming through the cracks. Which they then discovered the hot water leak. This is just a small list of the issues we have had! They have been aware of these issues for almost 5 months now. Over 2 weeks ago we had one of their guys come and inspect the issues, take pictures, and document everything. They were supposed to come over a week ago to fix everything. I haven't heard a word. I'll never buy a single house they build or remodel ever again.

I first called about my backyard wooden gate. I have a "kitchen door" type gate which allows me to open the top, put the garbage bag into the can in the alley for Friday pickup and not let the dogs out. It was beginning to sag and I was afraid I would have to have it replaced. The owner, Micah, looked it over and said he thought it just needed to be secured. He worked on the hinges and added a bolt to the bottom gate to support it and keep it level. He noticed that some of the nails in wooden fence itself were coming out and went back and secured them as well. I was very pleased with work he did. Micah is willing to do what you need -- a big job or just a small one! Since then, Ancient Path Handyman Services LLC have helped me with my back door, the gutters and a few other things. They get the highest rating from me. I don't think you can get better quality and value from anyone else!

It is a limited liability company, which means you can only sue for the amount of the companies worth. Been in business for about 3 years. Has a small crew. The business is registered with the Alabama Secretary of State. Not listed with the Alabama State Contractors License Board. No confirmation from the Alabama Home Builders Board as a member. A contractor is usually required to have a county business license no matter the project cost. In our opinion, we found him to be quite arrogant, with a puffed up, high-and-mighty attitude. Had no business card. Appeared offended and uncooperative when asked about his license, insurance, liability, etc. Gave the appearance of having no patience in a statement that he didn't want to be interrupted while working on your project to answer questions or to explain things and would quit. Boasted having equipment to handle a variety of jobs. Unknown what equipment or if owned outright. Mentioned had problems dealing with women on potential projects. Was recently arrested due to a complaint filed by a woman and currently pending trial on the matters. All part of the public record. Expects approximately half of the project cost up front for materials, leading one to suspect he has no credit with any materials supplier for a client's job. Offered a contract refusing a detailed estimate as requested. We wouldn't sign or trust any written contract without an attorney's advice. While it is customary to expect some upfront money by some contractors, in our experience, most a reasonable person should give is between 10-25% deposit of the project cost. Any payment should be by check, loan or credit card. Similar projects to ours completed with references were requested but was referred to non-descriptive pictures on his Facebook page. States he warranties his jobs for 12 months but no specification what exactly was covered. I'm amazed that others haven't written any reviews, good or bad, thus far. Overall, too many red flags, not professional and happy to say he's NOT a contractor we'd ever do any business with and didn't, or would we give as a referral. I hope this review helps other.

The first thing you must know is that Robert Tayler is a con artist, he is not licensed or bonded,…read morebut he will tell you he is. Robert Tayler owns this LLC to protect himself from liability, he does not reveal his address, my attorney's staff tried every method they could devise to find his address, I found a couple, both fake. Robert will grin, talk about the Bible and bore you silly with his stories about helping people the whole time he's searching for more and more ways to rip you off. He did some building for me using men from drug rehab and men who were decent builders but not qualified to take in such a big project, he never had enough men or anyone qualified to do the entire project. His best builders walked off the job. In the end, the work was so shabby it embarrassed me, we had agreed to an inspection before the final payment, he came to my house after dark and spent an hour or so in a dark garage with no light then came in & told me an inspector said the work was perfect. I never saw an inspector. He started demanding payment months before the work was complete. When the work was "complete", my inspector nearly had a coronary, I knew the work was shabby but I didn't know how bad it was. The inspector didn't even finish the inspection, he didn't want to charge me to inspect something that could never pass. I had 3 builders look, they all said it had to be torn down. One builder said it would not stand up in a storm. Robert originally imagined I wanted a garage that was 24X40, when I told him I didn't want anything nearly that big, we decided on 24X24, I told him to give me new costs based on the smaller size, he refused, insisting that the smaller size would cost the same, his bid included top of the line windows, doors and fixtures. Over the 6 months or so that it took him to do the work he consistently refused to revise the quote for the smaller size, he literally expected me to pay for a 24X40 garage when I got a 24X24, instead of top of the line doors, windows, and fixtures, he installed the cheapest garage doors so poorly they had to come down. The window, pedestrian doors and fixtures came from a dump pile he must keep somewhere. During this entire time, he offered to do things for me, we can do this, we can do that, all with the intent to gouge me and overcharge me more. One of the last conversations we had, he was practically begging me to build a kitchen island as if I'd hire him to take out the trash. He was going to replace the garage roof when I told him to stay off my property and hired an attorney. I googled him and found that he was a felon who spent time in prison for illegal gambling & bribing officials, he was on trial at the time he was working for me for fraud and theft alleged to have occurred at his auto sales company ironically called Integrity Motors. I posted his picture on Facebook and multiple people said he ripped them off at an auto repair shop in another town. My attorney said there were so many lawsuits and liens on his property that all I could hope for was to be at the end of the line. Stay away from Robert Tayler, don't let him in your house, don't listen to a word he says, he's a master con man, he is a genius con. There is not one honest thing about him. Nothing. He will smile in your face while he robs you blind & walk away telling people that you are evil.

It pains me to finally breakdown and write that we STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Whitaker Remodeling!!!…read more We selected them to lead a remodel of our dream home. Unfortunately, they walked away from our renovation leaving it incomplete and forcing us to need to find new contractors to finish a job they started over a year after they started!!! They did reasonably quality work, but fell about a month BEHIND because of the painting subcontractor that they brought in to complete the interior paint for our remodel!! To start, their painting subcontractor decided not to use any sort of tinted primer and went on the less expensive side of Sherwin Williams paint for the job. As a result the coverage was poor and it took more coats than planned (4 in some rooms). Whitaker Remodeling and their painting subcontractor even had the audacity to ask for more money because of this issue they caused by electing not to use any sort of tinted primer... which would have absolutely resolved the coverage issues. I was accommodating and agreed to pay a bit more (~$800) to cover the additional paint and supplies. This was the start of a series of issues related to painting that set us way behind on this job and ultimately a very poor experience with Whitaker Remodeling and their crews. Whitaker started the job in late April, 2023 knowing we needed to move into the home at the end of July. We had to pay an exorbitant amount of "week to week rent" costing almost $2000 when our temporary housing lease expired at the end of July because the job wasn't complete. When we finally moved in, among other incomplete work, we had no functional sink in our kitchen and appliances were there but not hooked up. They continued to work on our job sporadically and at random times when available into early October 2023. They just fell so far behind because of their painting subcontractor that took almost a month longer than scheduled that it caused scheduling conflicts for them and our job became a lesser priority. The last time they showed up to work they only worked a few hours and said they weren't feeling well and would be back. Among other issues, they installed the incorrect cabinet above our refrigerator and explained that the correct depth cabinet was missing from our cabinet order. I gave them the go ahead to do so because we didn't want to fall further behind on the renovation. At around Thanksgiving time 2023 I found the correct cabinet STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX in our garage... so the correct one was here the entire time!!! After not hearing from them for a month (early October to late November) we reached out and asked what was going on and explained that we found the cabinet and wanted to know when they would be back to replace the cabinet with the correct one, finish our backsplash, install our crown mounding and pot filler, reinstall the binds removed for painting, finish some drywall repairs, clean up paint spilled by the painters on our new hardwood floors, and clean up and replace some other miscellaneous things. They initially told me to order another cabinet face for the cabinet that they installed in error (costing me another $175 plus shipping for their error) and advised that they'd be in touch to schedule and finish everything up. Then, a week or so later they texted and advised that they'd keep us on the schedule but that they understood if we needed to get someone else out to finish up. I immediately called to speak with them and the conversation was cordial. Again, they said they felt bad that it was dragging on and were okay if we wanted to find another contractor to finish. I explained that at this point we were already into the holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) and that we were satisfied with the quality of work and preferred that they finish even if it was after the holidays. They again said that they'd look to work us into the schedule to wrap up. We checked in with them in December, January, February, and March... and in April 2024 at their request sent them the final list of all open items. The request for this list left us feeling like they were finally going to finish up. Unfortunately, they went completely silent after a few texts in June 2024... OVER A YEAR AFTER STARTING OUR REMODEL that was supposed to be completed by the end of July 2023!!! We haven't heard from them since. My only advice is that they do decent work, but DO NOT pay any amount until they complete your job. DO NOT agree to any sort of "pay as you go" agreement, even if it seems fair. If you pay as you go they take their time and feel no obligation... so will walk off your job if they get behind schedule too much and scheduling becomes inconvenient for them. I can only surmise that they figure they've gotten paid and owe you nothing... and will leave you looking for new contractors to finish what they started!!! USE WHITAKER REMODELING AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

A R & C was just that company, very knowledgeable and professional. They helped get the problem resolved and had to deal with AHS a couple of times. Charles was my technician that was sent out. Very nice guy, and with the reviews of this company elsewhere I can see why they had a very high rating. We had our air serviced by on time for a yearly tuneup and stated a part was bad on our air conditioning inside. So since we have the home warranty we figure we already pay for this repair and called them. And Charles stated the repair was only about 320 when the on time guy said 600-1300 for the repair... not saying on time folks are wrong... it glad Charlie got us fixed once the part came in. Great work Charlie and continue to make A R & C a great company to great service!!
