My husband, my 4-year-old, and I booked a trail ride. On the intake paperwork, we clearly noted that it would be my husband's first time riding. The plan was for me to ride with my child on a horse named Tilly, and my husband to ride Millie. When we arrived, both horses were visibly agitated and not cooperating. Tilly, the horse I was supposed to ride with my child, was acting skittish and did not seem comfortable being ridden that day. For safety reasons, the owner canceled the ride--which we completely understood and supported. However, there were several concerns leading up to that point: My husband (a first-time rider) was assigned a horse we were later told had never been used on a trail ride before Both horses appeared unsettled, which made the situation feel unsafe from the start The owner seemed visibly stressed, was raising her voice, and spoke sharply to her employees, who appeared uncomfortable and intimidated Instructions were unclear and inconsistent, and we were not properly guided through how to handle the horses The business advertises a 15-20 minute riding lesson prior to the trail ride, but the instruction provided was minimal and not clearly explained When I struggled to direct the horse, it felt like the blame was placed on me rather than providing proper guidance Helmets provided were extremely dirty, with caked-on dirt and no indication they had been cleaned or sanitized, raising concerns about basic hygiene and safety After canceling, the owner verbally told me twice that I would receive a full refund via Venmo by the end of the day. Unfortunately, that refund was never sent. Instead, after we left, I received a message offering riding lessons (minus a cancellation fee). To be clear: We did not cancel--the business did We did not agree to lessons as a substitute We did not agree to any partial refund or cancellation fee A full refund had already been clearly promised This experience left us disappointed, uncomfortable, and out money for a service that was never provided. It also felt like the situation was unfairly shifted onto us, despite the cancellation being initiated by the business. I recommend asking detailed questions about horse experience, safety protocols, instruction quality, sanitation practices, and refund policies before booking.

One part is the Racing Experience itself. Since hubby did the racing I asked him. 5 stars, 10 stars, he would do that part 100 times over. He loved it and it went way to fast! Communication from the experience: Our initial race date got pushed due to weather and they had great email communication for the change in date and who to contact on the day of. The Rusty Wallace Experience part as a company leading up to the race has a 3 star review. Here is what to expect. The girls getting you registered were very fast and helpful. 2 ladies in a trailer, you walk up, sign waivers, purchase insurance or additional things there. 1. Ride along 2. Driving experience (Upgrade to fancier car available) 3. Ride along PLUS driving Everyone recommended adding on the 3 lap ride along so that you can ride with a professional first and get the feel for what it will be like as well as advice from a real driver while in the car. Can be beneficial if you have never done this before. Also, the insurance while optional should be a no brainer here. Regardless you go to the driver meeting: The driver meeting was intense with lots of information to cover in a short period of time but it was made very clear that safety was the biggest concern. Multiple times we were told what to do it the radio didn't work and what you should be hearing from your spotter. These are real cars that have been raced by the big boys and not modified. ((Although if you ask anyone who knows motors they will tell you they are "messed with". They can tell by the sound of the car. " You have to wear the Hans device and fire suit, and neck brace. You are strapped in extremely tight. Husband said this is a tight fit so if you are claustrophobic this could be a big challenge. I went along for the event and were allowed to sit through the driver meeting and be right along pit wall the entire time. They has a tent, bleachers, and chairs set up for the people watching the drivers. ***Here is the reason we were there til almost 4pm on a 11am class. After your class you get your gear on, pick you helmet and wait in line for the drive. **It was a beautiful Oct day-- cool enough for people not to get too hot in the racer suits.** (Delay 1) We found out during our class that one of the 2 ride along cars broke down. So, if you had purchased a ride along with or without the driving experience you were delayed. (Delay 2) The most time is not in the car but getting into the car, sitting on the edge of the car while the photographer runs back and forth between cars to take photos. (Delay 3) Car maintenance- and getting memory cards from the car camera for the purchased video. They really needed a couple more people for this. (Delay 4) Maybe another ride along car or two as majority of people were ride along. This particular delay slowed the people from the previous class from getting into the line to drive their own car. So the 10 o'clock class was still finishing their ride along and then were allowed to "cut" the 11 o'clock class drivers to get their drive time in. This was fine, I understand, but some communication would have been nice. We stood in the driver line for over an hour or so waiting just to drive. After the drive and your all done, you are helped out and then you can wait for your photo and plaque if you want one. You will have to purchase these but we were so exhausted we didn't even wait around to check them out. My hubby had an amazing time in the car!! Again, the driving itself was the highlight and he loved every second. I would highly recommend this to anyone who want to have a real race experience. It is on the expensive side but it was well worth the money or find it on Groupon like I did. Just expect to a wait, dress accordingly, take a snack.

Prairie Fire Gymnastics is the place for you!…read more I discovered this place somewhat by accident a few years ago and immediately signed my daughter up for a beginner class. I had been a gymnast myself and suddenly felt transported back to my more agile years just by walking in to this gym. When I found out they offered an adult class, I was in heaven! Ok, so returning to gymnastics (or learning to tumble) at the age of 40 isn't for everyone, but I must say the class was a blast! The instructor had me tumbling like a 20 year old in no time and I had a renewed interest in and committment to achieving a higher level of fitness. It was the shot in the arm I needed to get back in shape and to have fun while doing so. The facility is spacious, full of the equipment needed to train champion gymnasts. There is also a Christian Tae Kwon Do gym towards the back as well as a fitness area that parents can use for FREE while their children take a class. The equipment faces the class area so you can watch your child in class while you work out. What an awesome perk! The most impressive aspect of this gym is the positive attitude of the instructors and the heart they have for safely training athletes of all ages and abilities. The atmosphere is fun, but with an emphasis on advancing skills safely and accurately - no over-the-top coaches who are inappropriately tough or harsh. I've experienced hard-core coaches in the past and other gyms and find the atmosphere quite refreshing at Prairie Fire. My daughter is now on the competitive team at Prairie Fire and is very dedicated to the sport of gymnastics. I credit the excellent coaching staff that encourages a healthy balance of practice and activities outside the gym to her continued interest in the sport. I am looking forward to to see the great things this team and gym can accomplish!
