I've been going to this fairly new salon since it opened and I love it. They offer you a cappuccino when you walk in, put a hot towel on your face as you're getting your hair washed and the stylists know what they're doing! A MESS, WES!!! What a nightmare! Just threw out $300 on hair colour by Weston, and had to spend $200 more elsewhere, to fix his mess. I'd been encouraged to try bayalage with Weston, apparently his specialty. I can't imagine the outcome if it weren't. After showing him multiple photos, at his request, we decided on a photo we liked, and I was expecting to have a similar look. I should have been skeptical when all of the gray was still showing after he did it, and it took him 2 more tries to cover it. He admitted that he tried to cheat to cover it, and it didn't work, but "it's very unusual." Of course. When I showed him all of the gray still there, he said nothing, no apologies, and simply went off to mix some colour and returned. It would have been nice if he had been willing to communicate with me and explain what he'd do. Too proud. The result was totally unlike what we'd talked about, and boring, and unnoticeable. He had stressed how it should be noticed. After I got home, I called to speak to the owner, and arranged to go back to fix it. Weston was clearly annoyed I'd returned, judging by his behaviour. He cut me off when I tried to explain how I wanted it changed, wouldn't talk to me once the entire time, quickly did the colour, washed my hair so roughly, my head was bobbing was around like crazy, and water was splashing everywhere. He is entirely unprofessional. It was clear that he wanted to be done with me as quickly as possible, and get me the hell out of there. The end result was that I had black hair. There was a hint of blonde in it when I left that washed out the next day, and the black colour kept rinsing out. When I got home, I looked in the mirror, and cried. I have no idea what he did, but I couldn't go out in public with that, so I went to another nearby salon, showed him the pic, explained the ordeal, and $200 later, I left with the look I had wanted. It's a shame that someone who's early in his career, is already so full of himself, incapable of admitting his mistakes, and treats clients so rudely. Stay away! read more

I've been to Ergys twice now, and have my third appt. for a men's cut tomorrow. Yes, you should assume that since I'm going back, and that I've given the place 5 stars, that my review will be positive. But you should continue reading, because my situation is a bit unique, and the fact that Ergys has been able to have me looking my best is a huge testament to his talents as a stylist. My first time going to him was several years ago - for my wedding haircut. I decided that my regular guy just wasn't up to the task, and after reading all the reviews online about this place, I decided to take a chance on them. So glad I did - the cut was perfection. Probably the best cut I've ever had. I actually booked my appointment two weeks in advance of my wedding, because in my experience 1-2 weeks after my cut, after things had a chance to grow in just a bit, was when I looked my best. Plus, I was a bit nervous about going to a new place, and I figured that if I got completely butchered at least there would be a buffer period to let things grow back in, maybe have someone else fix the mess. But in the end, all my worry was for naught: the cut was so perfect that I could have just driven straight to my wedding right then and there. And more impressive still: two weeks later, it still looked like perfection. Despite how good the wedding cut had been, it was actually two years before I went and saw Ergys again. Truthfully, it was the price that kept me away: $55 for a men's cut is pretty steep, and I'm not really the type that heads for $55 haircuts every week. But there's just no denying that this is one of those times where you get what you pay for. The reason I decided to go back - and the reason he's my guy from now on - is because I've actually recently been diagnosed with an odd autoimmune disorder that attacks the hair follicles. No other symptoms, no long-term consequences, nothing dangerous...but my immune system has decided that it doesn't like my hair. And so I now get these unpredictable loonie sized patches of hair loss, here, there, anywhere. Go to sleep one night, got all your hair. Wake up the next morning, there's a loonie sized bald patch in the middle of my head. A bit traumatizing, I'm sure you can imagine. But the bottom line is that I immediately decided that the only guy capable of keeping me looking my best was Ergys. And I was right: when I went to him for my cut, I had a loonie sized bald patch above my left ear, another slightly smaller patch in the back on the right, and a pretty large bald patch that was creeping up on my neckline in the back. And somehow, miraculously, Ergys was able to sit me down in his chair, talk about cutting a bit this way, a bit that way, longer here, shorter there, maybe leave things a bit "loose"....and after all was said and done with his best Edward Scissorhands impression, I came out looking a million bucks again. Could have gotten married all over again. Tomorrow will be my third visit to Ergys. No new loonie spots, luckily, but the existing ones haven't gone away yet either. But I'm not worried: Ergys is a master. read more

I went to Ergys Studio a few weeks ago, because I was given a '50% off your first style' coupon. I had my hair done by David. The hair cut he gave me is absolutely beautiful - the layers are perfect, and I couldn't be happier (with the cut). Unfortunately, the colour is a whole other story. I asked for blonde balayage so my hair would be (noticeably) lighter for summer. The first time I went in, I really couldn't tell my hair had been coloured at all, so I went back for a second go. The second visit was extremely rushed (all of my foils were in my hair in 20 minutes). I was washed and dried and sent on my way. Once I went home, I straightened my hair and realized that instead of balayage (a nice gradual and well-blended ombre), the top half of my hair was my nautral dark blonde, and the bottom half was bleach-blonde. It was not blended well at all - it looked like someone had put a ruler to my head and dyed the hair against the ruler. I would go back to get my hair cut again, but unfortunately I no longer trust them to do my colour. Thank goodness I only paid 50%, but even then it was quite pricey. Luckily I was able to go to Civello on Queen Street, and the lovely ladies there fixed my hair for the summer! read more

Simply THE BEST! I would drive to the end of the earth if needed to get my hair done by Ergys. All my family members are his clients. Even my son since 10years old and now his friends- teenagers... A bit pricy but worth every penny. Immaculate customer service. Friendly atmosphere. Design of the place is gorgeous. Every visit - an event, not routine. Just had my first visit to this incredible salon and it won't be my last. Finding a new hair stylist and colourist is something most women do with a lot of anxiety. As I had just moved from Vancouver it was a daunting task choosing from the many websites and reviews I'd seen online. Ergys Studio is an urban chic oasis. From the sleek decor to the sexy lounge downstairs, no detail has been overlooked when it comes to the design of this amazing place. This brings me to Weston. What a gem. This handsome young man is beyond talented when it comes to colour . He's super sweet and knows what he's doing. I gratefully accepted a cappuccino offered to me during my visit. Ergy who owns the salon came over to introduced himself and to welcome me as a new client . This group of people from start to finish have gotten things right here. Ergys has been styling my hair for almost 10 years. He is pretty much a hair god. He's so good that even though I have moved to Seattle, I will wait to get my hair cut if I know that I am flying home to Toronto in the near future so I can have him work his magic. I had the pleasure of visiting the new Ergys Studio last week when I was in town and let me tell you, it was an incredible experience. I was welcomed into the lounge area and offered an espresso as soon as I arrived. They have a gorgeous waiting area there with a large flat screen TV and comfortable seating. My boyfriend was able to watch the world cup game while he waited for me to get my hair done, so he was happy (he also got his hair cut by Ergys that day). The cut and colour I had done for me was flawless! I really appreciated the attention to detail that the team put into it and the results are fabulous. I highly recommend you call and make your appointment to see for yourself. The service is excellent, the styling is in a league of its own, and it's a wonderful local business to support. read more

Skip it. I wanted to try something new with colour, and ended up with someone named Weston. He seemed to pretend to listen, but really wanted to just "get it over with." I should have decided not to go ahead with it, but didn't. It was a waste of money since the colour was really bland, and barely looked like a change. It takes a while when you have long hair like mine, so you're hoping that it was worth your time too, but I'll be moving on. He's pretty arrogant, since I asked him if he could add something to it, and he was agitated about this, so I dropped it. He never smiles, and looks miserable. It was surprising that he didn't even come over to see how it looked before I left, or the owner. I guess he's been getting enough business, so he can afford to do this. There's another colourist there who seems so cheerful, and cares more about her clients. Too bad I didn't have her. Thankfully, I paid half price as a promotion, or I would have been annoyed. So many salons around, so I'll be moving on. read more
