Making appointments is super easy--the front office people are kind both in phone and in person. They don't over book the hygienists which means that I rarely wait ten minutes to be seen and I don't feel rushed through my cleaning. I've visited several of the hygienists on Dr. Mumford's team for cleanings. Danielle is my usual and she is awesome. She is actually fun to spend an hour of my day with! She is very gentle and as good at talking with me about ways I can improve my daily dental hygiene as she is chatting about daily life. I have also visited Monica, Julie, and Laurie who are all very gentle. I can genuinely say I enjoy coming to the dentist for appointments, because it's relaxing! Dr. Mumford will always talk with me about spots that could be prone to cavities and teaches me how to clean so that I can stop any decay that could happen. He presents options when I do have a problem so I can decide what is best financially for me and also for my dental health. I recently had a chip in a molar and Dr. Mumford was really good at being as minimally invasive as possible. We tried just filling the chip, but then decided to make everything more stable after I ate something chewy and the composite came out. He redid my current filling (which was really poorly shaped from a previous dentist) and connected it to the filled chip. He made my tooth look like a tooth instead of a flat ice skating rink! He is very talented, patient, and detail oriented. Dory assisted and knew what he needed and when: she is clearly very experienced and talented with what she does. Babette is excellent with the administrative side of Dr. Mumford's practice. She is super nice and always helps me understand insurance billing, my balance, etc., without any discomfort. She is always happy and seems to love doing her job. While chatting one visit, I asked Dr. Mumford what he likes best about being a dentist, and he told me he loves helping people make changes in their dental health and routines that help improve their quality of life. He said he loves helping people improve their confidence and happiness because of how their teeth look an feel. Honestly, what could be better than a health provider who is not only excellently talented, but also truly cares about his patients?

The dentist was polite, friendly, conservative and confident in his diagnosis. We were disappointed in his periodontist referrals. An employee came up to me in the waiting room to do x rays before I had seen the dentist for him to make a recommendation for x rays and when I had already sent them x rays. The office is large and impersonal. You have to go through the office manager to ask questions to the dentist and don't know if emails go directly to him. When I first called to make an appointment, I was told a dental assistant would do the exam not the dentist. I found that troubling. There is free outdoor parking

Got good advice on dental care and a walkthrough of my X-rays. They validate for parking so don't pay for it! Just park and go upstairs with your license plate in hand.

They take the tine to walk you through insurance coverage and pricing (no surprises). The entire time you are in the chair you find the staff having fun with each other between working. I get a reminder call the day before and can schedule online. No paper/all digital too. And receptionist remembers conversations about you and your family from 6 months ago between visits.

I recently had a new patient visit and cleaning at Hartford Dental Associates and was very…read moreimpressed. My appointment started on time, a huge plus from the beginning. Everyone was very friendly and conversational. First, Heidi (Dental Assistant) took all of my x-rays and photographs of my teeth; she was very thorough. Next, I had my exam with Dr. Berry, who was also friendly, and I could tell he likes to joke around, which was nice, given a lot of people are anxious during dental appointments. I had a few questions, which he answered and explained next steps. Lastly, Brittnae (Registered Dental Hygienist) did my cleaning. She measured all of my periodontal pockets -- something I've never had done before, so I was highly impressed by the level of attention and care they give their patients. Brittnae explained everything she was doing and answered all of my questions. Most importantly, she was very gentle on my teeth and gums during the cleaning. The office takes all COVID safety precautions, which was such a relief. Everyone wears a mask (surgical or N95 or both), and I noticed HEPA filters throughout the office. In addition, the office is completely digital (no paper!) and very modern. Overall, I have had a very positive new patient visit and am looking forward to my next cleaning. Highly recommend!
