I specifically asked for my beard to be faded -- tighter on the cheeks and gradually fuller toward the chin. Instead, essentially one guard length was used throughout the beard, while the chin was mostly left alone. There was no actual fade or blending like I requested. The back of my neck was also initially left completely untouched. I had to ask for the neckline to be tapered, which I would normally expect to be part of a line-up. So to fix that she went higher than I wanted and started cutting the sides with scissors, which was not what I asked for either. The service also kept being interrupted because the barber had her baby there. At first, I was completely understanding -- things happen and parents have responsibilities. But she repeatedly had to stop during my appointment to tend to the baby, including stopping mid-service to change the baby's diaper and then returning directly to my beard service. On top of that, there were repeated comments about the baby "shitting" throughout the appointment. That just isn't the kind of conversation or environment I want while receiving a grooming service. I'm understanding when someone has a child with them, but when it begins interfering with the quality, timing, cleanliness, and professionalism of a paid service, it becomes an issue. I left after spending about an hour there and still didn't receive the beard fade or clean line-up I originally asked for. Very disappointing experience.

I had a horrible experience at this salon on 5/25. I had sent a picture of the hairstyle I wanted…read moreto Miriam (the salon owner), a day before my appointment. I also brought the picture and showed it to Miriam before she started my hair. She could not deliver the hairstyle, and gave me a hairstyle that was completely different, horrible and hideous-looking. She had no clue what she was doing. When I pointed out that the hairstyle was not matching the picture, she blamed it on the shape of the head in the photo. That explanation made no sense to me. I repeatedly told her that the style was not coming out correctly. Instead of listening, she kept yelling over me and would not let me speak. Every time I tried to explain what was wrong, she interrupted me and insisted that she was doing "what was best for me." I then told her that I was not there for a hairstyle she thought was best for me but a hairstyle I wanted. She just kept yelling over me, that I could not put in a word and she didn't listen to anything I said. Subsequently, another client came into the salon. During this entire appointment, the salon door was locked, so Miriam had to unlock the door to let the client in. The fact that the salon remained locked during my appointment became especially uncomfortable later when the situation escalated. To make sure I was not being unreasonable, I showed the picture to the client who had come into the salon. The client agreed that the hairstyle did not match the photo. The client even told Miriam that she didn't want to make the situation worse but wanted to be honest, that the style she gave me was not only different, but it didn't look nice. She said she didn't like the hair either. So this made me feel validated and that I wasn't being unreasonable or being a difficult client. The client then tried to explain to Miriam what was different and what had been done incorrectly, but Miriam would not listen to her either. She continued arguing, yelling, and becoming increasingly agitated. Eventually, the client became frustrated and told Miriam that she was not listening. The entire situation felt hostile and unsafe. Miriam was belligerent, she became increasingly confrontational, she wouldn't listen to either of us and just kept yelling and arguing. What upset me most was not just the hairstyle, but the way I was treated. I was being yelled at, talked over, and dismissed every time I tried to speak. Miriam's tone and behavior were aggressive. As the argument escalated, she advanced toward me while raising her voice, which made me fear the situation could become physical. I became concerned about my safety and no longer felt comfortable being there. At that point, I was no longer interested in the hairstyle. I simply wanted to leave for my safety. I just wanted my belongings, and the ability to leave. The combination of the yelling, the hostility, the refusal to listen, and being inside a locked salon made me feel extremely uncomfortable. In the end, I lost my time, my money (she charged me $150), and the 5 bags of hair I had purchased for the style. Most importantly, I left feeling shaken by the entire experience. Miriam used to have some ladies in her salon that did hair really good. When I asked about them, she said they left. It seems like Miriam is just trying to wing it. If you can't do a hairstyle on a picture that was provided to you prior, but think by yelling at your customer, you can get away with it then I have to agree with the other review that called her a scammer. I felt threatened and intimated being yelled at, and charged towards aggressively, in a locked space. Unfortunately, we live in a time when people sometimes react unpredictably or irrationally when emotions escalate, and I did not feel comfortable remaining in that space. I would rather lose money than put my personal safety at risk. I would never return. The hairstyle was not what I requested, my concerns were ignored, I was repeatedly yelled at, trapped, and the entire interaction left me feeling disrespected and unsafe.

I had the WORST salon experiences of my life with Leisure Hair Studio and the owner, Eddie. I would…read morenot recommend him to anyone. To start, he rescheduled my original appointment just ONE HOUR before I was supposed to come in, which was already frustrating. Then on the day of my actual appointment, he was late. Completely unprofessional from the beginning. When I arrived, I was honestly shocked at how messy the salon was. There was hair all over the floor and from several different people, the brushes he used had other people's hair stuck in them, and at one point he even dropped a brush on the ground and then picked it right back up and used it on me. It felt unsanitary and careless. The service itself was even worse. He took over five and a half hours to highlight my hair, and the result was horrible. During my consultation, I very clearly asked for full foil highlights and showed multiple pictures. He even discussed those photos with me--yet somehow decided to do balayage instead and the end result looked nothing like what I asked for. Throughout the appointment, he was also on his phone most of the time and barely communicated with me. When he wasn't actively working on my hair, there was little to no interaction, which made the whole experience feel very uncomfortable and inattentive. On top of that, he actually left the studio to go get coffee while my hair was processing, which felt incredibly unprofessional. I came back the next day to have him fix it and showed him pictures again of what I wanted corrected because my hair looked so bad. Instead of fixing it, he completely ruined it even more. When I calmly explained that this still wasn't what I had asked for, he became extremely defensive and dismissive, saying things like, "I don't know what you want me to do." That was incredibly frustrating because he did NOT follow what I asked for in the first place. At that point I was so disappointed and embarrassed by how my hair looked that I started crying right there in the salon. Instead of showing any empathy or professionalism, he was rude, dismissive, and told me, "I don't know what you want me to do. I did everything you told me you wanted" and then when I told him that I felt like he didn't listen to what I asked for, he said "you can leave now" and pointed me to the door. Not once did he apologize or try to make things right. To make matters worse, he originally quoted me $270 for highlights, but at the end charged me $370. No explanation, no accountability--just another example of how unprofessional this entire experience was. The lack of hygiene, poor communication, completely ignoring what I asked for, overcharging, and the way he treated me was unacceptable. A simple apology and willingness to fix the situation would have gone a long way, but instead I was met with defensiveness and disrespect. I would strongly advise anyone considering this salon to go elsewhere. I truly hope he reflects on how he treats his clients and never makes someone feel the way I felt during this experience again. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, honesty, and basic empathy, and I hope he finds it in himself to do better moving forward.

This place is amazing!!…read more Ashley did such a fantastic job on doing my hair! We talked the entire time I was in the chair, which made time fly by so quick! All the shampoos and hair products smell absolutely delicious so make sure you're NOT hungry whenever you come in LOL. I gave Ashley complete control of what to do with my hair. The only thing I wanted was to go lighter and get a trim and she did just that! I love the way my hair looks and will definitely be back for touch ups and all other hair needs!
