I was in town for holiday and realized "damn I look rough and not in a cool rugged way". I was staying downtown and opened up Yelp to find this gem. I'm so appreciattive the fact they were able to get me in the day of and within an hour. Team here was friendly and it looks like every barber operates as a solo business. My cut held me up for the rest of my stay in Denver and my holiday right after in Chicago. If y'all live in Denver definitely give them a shout. read more

This is my first experience with going to a barbershop for a haircut. TRACIE, who is a stylist, does a neat, consistent job. A couple of photos and a description was all it took to get the style I wanted. As I have gotten used to having shorter hair, I have had her tweak a few things, which is she has always accommodated. Tracie is friendly and easy to talk to, so it is a pleasurable experience. I appreciate a location that serves different genders and races in a professional way. They take walk-ins, though I prefer the convenience of an appointment. You can book online, but must cancel by phone or e-mail. Additionally, the base price of $35 is the least expensive haircut I have found in the Denver CBD. read more

Don't, normally do this. But, this was the worst beard trim of my life. I was cut multiple times. My face was in pain all day. The guy did not use any shaving cream, had the worst breath. Terrible experience. Luckily I live out of town, either way I will never be back. read more

Located conveniently on Champa across the street from where I was staying, they were super accommodating. Being out of town and from NYC I was super hesitant to let another barber outside of my usual cut my hair. Walked in and was seated immediately. If you visit this location, ask for Marcos. After moving to a new city, finding the right barbershop was right up there on the list of top priorities! Working downtown there are a lot of options, but I love the friendly vibe of Stan's smaller location on Champa. It's in and out in 30 minutes and I'm always happy with the result. I've gone to Christina for the past couple of years, but I've gotten a great cut, as well, from the other barbers in that shop when she's unavailable. I happened into this place by accident and got the best haircut in years! Was in Denver on business and had a free half day on a Monday. Decided to walk around the downtown and get a haircut but it seems many places are closed on Monday. Then I saw the old fashioned barber shop sign and walked in. This place looked pretty cool. I had a 15 minute wait, not bad for a walk in, and then "Murphy" took over. I'm not blessed with a great head of hair but none the less, Murphy managed to make me look better than I have in years. I didn't have the most ideal experience. I made my appointment online for 8:30, but the barber didn't know and showed up at 9. I asked for a high bald fade, but he wasn't able to do the fade properly. I felt bad and still paid full price, but I ended up having to go somewhere else and getting it fixed. I had a good experience with the female barbers - they were lovely. But give only 3 stars because the place was super hot inside. No AC just small fans. Very uncomfortable. Invest in your clients' comfort. Also I wanted to pay with cash but they had no change for a $20 so I was forced to use a card that I did not want to use. In order to tip the barber I had to walk down the street, get change and walk back. Customer satisfaction is often in the small details! Updated to 4 stars because of Stan's great response. Dean is the best, I had my hair cut twice at downtown barbers and he nailed it both times. He Took me earlier then my appointment time and got to work. Great price for the haircut, he took his time to make sure it was to my satisfaction and I left feeling fresh and proper. This may not have the loud music and trendy atmosphere like Floyds, but Downtown Barbers gives a better cut. Plus, they are a true barber shop and take the time to make sure you look good without rushing you out quickly to get another tip. I don't usually go out of my way to write reviews, but as a stranger in an unfamiliar city who used yelp to find a good place for a haircut I feel I should share my great experience at Stan's, where they value quality over quantity. Stan immediately made me feel welcome, identifying me as someone who was new to his shop, offering me water and spending the time to chat a bit about the Denver area. Dahlia cut my hair and did a tremendous job. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted, in some cases knowing better than I how best to cut it (I often give fairly vague instructions...). Aside from the haircut, Dahlia and Stan also made me feel welcome not only at the barbershop but as a visitor to the Denver area. My office finally moved downtown, and I just dropped in for the first time yesterday for a quick haircut to remove the mop I had been growing. It was a great experience. This is the real thing. It has the friendly feel of an old fashioned barber shop, comfortable chairs, friendly conversation, personal service and great prices. Rudy has been in the business for decades, and can tell you all you want to know about the evolution of downtown over the years. Windows that look out onto the street let you watch people walk by as you get a clip. And the close shave on the neck and behind the ears is the icing on the cake. l felt like a king walking out of here. Don't ask me why some folks would prefer to wait in line for mediocre service at some pseudo-retro, corporate-owned, chain barber shop equivalent of overpriced fast food. They just don't know what they're missing. Not a bad thing, I guess. At least that keeps the wait shorter at a quality place like this. read more

Stan is the man! Just had my haircut here after months of walking by on my way to Floyds. Stan is a genuine guy and is great to talk to. He really cares about his customers and that means a lot to me. His prices were better than Floyds and over all it was a better haircut.
