It is hard to get a CPAP equipment refilled because the refuse to do it. Not sure if the Dr is aware that his clinic is lacking in customer service or things are being neglected. It is really bad. Perhaps by sharing my story, such as it is, others will see the value in Sleep Care & Medicine so that they might seek help sooner --not later-- and perhaps place that care in the capable hands of Dr. Bandla. ************************* -A BIT OF BACKGROUND- I lost years of my life to "Sleep Apnea": due to the poor health it caused --unnecessarily so-- because I ignored my doctors' suggestions to see a "Sleep Specialist" for a "Sleep Study" (I heard these words within quotations VERY often, and maybe you have as well: from a concerned spouse, friend, or doctor?). When it was suggested to me, I not so much as 'decided' a Sleep Specialist wasn't a priority, but I let time pass without pursuing it: ie, I did not MAKE it a priority. But trust me, IT SHOULD BE. Because of that, let me tell you what my future became: my untreated & disordered sleep would be THE contributing factor to my deteriorating health for those two years. I've only now learned that those symptoms are scientifically documented consequences due to chronically poor sleep or chronic lack of it. BELOW: some of said symptoms: Severe fatigue & sleepiness, lassitude, swings between insomnia to severe over-sleeping; memory loss, thought disorganization, cognitive impairment incl. word-finding, forgetfulness; emotional dysregulation, impatience, depression w/suicidal ideation; heart palpitations, body temperature irregularity, weight gain & muscle loss; severe nerve pain, esp. the extremities; headaches, light sensitivity, hearing changes/loss + sensitivity. & more minor symptoms. Finally I'd had enough and lined up any specialist I could think of: (literally) Endocrinology, Hematology, Neurology, Neurovascular, Audiology + ENT, Pain MGMT, and even Gynocology! All were "fine" and said "see a SLEEP SPECIALIST & do a Sleep Study!!!". I finally got the hint and out of sheer luck, my doc was Dr. Bandla. *************** -THE DOCTOR- At my initial apt, Dr. Bandla asked a few questions to prompt me, then carefully listened to my confused babble about my symptoms, and somehow he understood, never getting frustrated nor short. Once he got the necessary information, he explained everything very carefully until I understood every detail: what my diagnosis likely is, why he believes that is, and then what the next steps will be from there. (And he was right about all his predictions, by the way). A Sleep Study was next, and he made sure every single detail was taken care of: for ex, he made sure a special Mouth-Breathing Sensor would be available for my study after I mentioned having chronic sinus issues. The help & time he spent with me is incredibly rare in today's medical system, and thanks to Swedish for accommodating that kind of care (too often time & money outweigh care. That was n not my experience here). **************************** -ABOVE & BEYOND- Any time I have called or emailed, Dr. Bandla would respond immediately, and he himself would respond personally most often (that is VERY rare these days). The most significant gesture was during my second Sleep Study where I would be "test-driving" a special C-PAP. That Friday night, as my tech helped me get situated, she explained how she'll call the doctor once I'm asleep. I asked what she meant and turns out, he was at home and was staying up late on his Friday night, waiting, just to hear how I was doing. I'm a well spoken person, but I struggle to adequately describe how touched I was from such a gesture. ********************* -CONCLUSION- I was eventually diagnosed and have been using the treatment machine, worn at night, for nearly a month. My body and my life is changing rapidly (It's the best diet & religion rolled into one: HEALED all while you sleep!). I have a rarer type of apnea called Central Sleep Apnea caused by my brain, not the throat like most folks. At night my brain stops telling my lungs to breathe, and my breathing literally stops, as if I've died. With treatment via the machine, my prognosis is very good. So, if you're in the Pacific Northwest, I highly recommend Swedish Sleep Medicine (Redmond or Seattle). There's a reason I drive 4hrs round-trip to be a Swedish patient, time and again. I am and always will be eternally grateful to Preetam Bandla and to his family for allowing us -his patients- to borrow him from you so that we may return to ours. -A.

When arriving- I was told I would be next. Let me tell you- I am in quite a bit of pain from an injury. So the nurse practitioner (not even a doctor) seemed to be the one seeing patients. She stuck her head out and said - I am taking lunch... just tell them it will be a longer wait. - everyone needs lunch right-? I mean really- who cares about patients when there is 'anytime unscheduled time off'. Enjoy that brake at the patients expense- after your staff indicated that he could be seen quickly to mitigate any PTSD Symptoms or adverse reactions which may disturb others. After voicing some displeasure at this- I was taken into a room by an administrative female who choose to belittle me to the point of a full blown PTSD Episode. I had asked to see a doctor- not some Affluent with a superiority complex. So after being fully triggered by staff- I was treated to 'Marty'- whom one can only describe as a [Medical Nazi]. In HIS facility- ADA Laws do not apply. The 1st amendment is dismissed for sensitively. This guy just antagonized me until I left. I believe he was trying to provoke a physical confrontation for mirth. This was one of the worst experiences I have had in years. A person with disabilities shouldn't be punished for being lied to and antagonized by a medical personnel when in need of medical treatment. Telling me that my language was unacceptable after being told I have PTSD was pretty low quality of a medical personnel. Escalating the situation was probably the worst thing 'Marty' could do. Making fun of me- while causing a PTSD meltdown- really showed his professionalism.

I was able to book an appointment within a week, which was very convenient. The front desk is very friendly, prompt, and polite. To a point where I felt service I was receiving was noticeably high quality. They also require that all patients wear a mask during these times, which I appreciated. The place is not very big, so every time I went, I did not have to worry about being close to others and did not notice any other patients waiting. After discussing with Dr. Anderson about what my issues were, he took the time to explain to me what the potential issues could me, which I really appreciated. They ran some X-rays on the spot, and after a few minutes, Dr. Anderson took me to his computer where we went over his thought process of what I had. He laid out 3 options for me without being pushy about any. I decided to go with an MRI next (since my bones seemed fine). When I came for my follow-up appointment, Dr. Anderson showed me the MRI on his computer and walked me through his thought process of what he saw. He laid out the options of either more PT or speaking to a surgeon. We talked it through and I've decided to now go see a surgeon since PT wasn't working. He made a point to refer me to someone who he felt wasn't going to push surgery on me and look all of the information before making a decision, which I appreciated. Overall, I really recommend this place! I feel that I received high quality service and would definitely return if I have any other issues.

I was told "He does not diagnose things comprehensively like that. You have to make an appointment for one body part at a time." That seemed odd, but his online profile sounded so wonderful that I decided to continue. Long story short, this office views things very very rigidly and compartmentalized. The receptionist seems to have oppositional defiant disorder and that's a reflection on the person who hired her, to me. In fact, she verbally chastised me, at length, not once, but twice, for trying to follow the city's COVID-19 restrictions to keep other patients safe when my daughter was sick. Apparently it was an inconvenience for her. That attitude really concerned me as I want a doctor who is looking out for everyone's best interest, not only their own interests. I never did get a helpful diagnosis in the end. I am sure she will fight this review, too. LOL.

She's extremely thorough, smart, warm and personable. And while her practice uses the best of technology, the way she practices medicine is reminiscent of a time when there were no HMOs, insurance companies or 15-minute appointment allotments. Yep, Dr. Marshall will actually spend A LOT of time getting to know and treating you, even though that runs counter to maximizing profits! I also appreciate that Dr. Marshall practices holistic medicine; I see it as getting the best of both worlds. She's very knowledgeable about nutrition, acupuncture, naturopathy, physical medicine, and of course, Western medicine. The Eylan Health office is clean, relaxing, organized, and I haven't had any trouble getting appointments. I like using the Eylan Health E-Portal to schedule appointments, upload docs, get lab orders and communicate with Dr. Marshall (I haven't gotten on board with the MyChart system at our other doctors quite yet). Oooh, and the office is right down the street from Mayuri Indian Cuisine, a fantastic choice if you're in the mood for Indian food. But here's my #1 reason for being a Dr. Marshall/Eylan Health fan: I'm actually feeling BETTER after a month of simple changes and Dr. Marshall's treatments! I've been seeing health practitioners and trying every reasonable treatment under the sun [well, that I can actually afford] to deal with my musculoskeletal issues for nearly a decade now. Yet in the past 6 weeks since seeing Dr. Marshall, I've become convinced that my body is actually starting to heal (or at least it's not reacting so poorly to every little stress). Honestly, I didn't expect these kind of results at all, so color me shocked and delighted! I have definitely spent the past year especially working HARD on my health, so I like to think those efforts prepared my body to be receptive to Dr. Marshall's treatments. The treatments I've had have been so gentle that I couldn't imagine how they could benefit me, by the way - there's no spine cracking or painful injections involved! Your mileage may vary, but my best advice is to give Dr. Marshall and whatever she prescribes for you a try because she's an excellent doctor who will truly give your WHOLE health the time, energy, care and attention it deserves. Great doctors (and I'm really, really picky about doctors). The front desk people are usually awesome and very on top of things. Today something got messed up and I was skipped over to be brought back but a nurse saved the day and asked about me, so I was seen about 30-45 minutes later than I should have been. I'm still giving this group 5 stars because they are great doctors.... and the nurse who takes my blood is very cool and funny and distracting so it makes the whole process not so bad. Kids love the fish tank (I see Nemo!) My main doctor is Catherine Smith and she ROCKS!

The physician that I saw here was competent enough, giving me several prescriptions for my sinus infection and a directive to call back if those didn't work over the course of the weekend. There's ample parking. Some spaces are on the north and south of the building, on the street and in a pinch, you can park in the Safeway lot and walk over.

I can live my life without constantly worrying about what limits the RA will put on my ability to just do the things I want. He's smart, funny and very friendly. He explains things well, and keeps you involved in the process. As a side note, he makes me think of Bill Nye. Which is intended as high praise. :)
